Read And Be Lazy
    Chapter Index

Lin Xingxian’s end was chaotic, and it took a while for him to find a quiet place to talk to Xu Yan.

He reassured Xu Yan not to be afraid, saying Wen Sinian wasn’t in serious trouble; he was just too busy to answer the phone.

Xu Yan refused to believe it. Wen Sinian would never ignore him, especially knowing he was worried. He must be in trouble.

Lin Xingxian saw he couldn’t hide it any longer and heard the thickness in Xu Yan’s voice. His heart ached, so he had someone pick Xu Yan up.

It was the same mountain villa Xu Yan had visited before. There were many cars parked outside, and people were everywhere. Xu Yan didn’t recognize any of them, but fortunately, Lin Xingxian came out to meet him and took him upstairs.

“Some of the people outside are shareholders and executives of the Wen Corporation, and some are from the third branch of the Wen family. They’re all being controlled here now. The man in the black suit you just saw is Wen Sinian’s confidant, so it’s very safe here. You don’t need to be afraid.”

Xu Yan nodded, his eyes red-rimmed, and hurriedly asked, “Where is Wen Sinian? Where is he?”

Lin Xingxian didn’t know how to tell him. “He’s a bit injured and has been unconscious for a few days. I just told him you were coming, and he seemed to wake up for a moment, but then he passed out again. Go see him. Maybe you can wake him up.”

Lin Xingxian had already brought him to the door of a room and gently pushed it open. Xu Yan smelled a strong scent of disinfectant.

On the large bed inside, a person was lying down with medical equipment beside him. A doctor in a white coat sat by the bed. Lin Xingxian waved at him, and the two of them left together, leaving the space alone for Xu Yan.

Xu Yan walked to the bedside and only then realized that the person lying there was Wen Sinian. Seeing the bandages wrapped around Wen Sinian’s hand, Xu Yan carefully lifted one of his hands, afraid of hurting him. He could only gently cradle it in his palm. Tears had already begun to stream down his face uncontrollably.

“How could this happen? You promised me you’d come back safe. How did it end up like this?”

The first time they met, Wen Sinian had been lying unconscious in the grass. Now, it felt like that scene was replaying before his eyes.

Xu Yan couldn’t accept it. He slowly leaned over the bed, his muffled voice coming from below as he stubbornly continued talking to the unconscious man.

“You always lie to me. This time, you’ve lied to me again. If you don’t wake up, I won’t believe a single word you say ever again.”

“Why aren’t you answering me? You haven’t talked to me for days. Don’t you miss me?”

“I miss you so much. These past few days, you haven’t held me while I slept. I couldn’t sleep, and I kept having nightmares. It’s all your fault for making me develop this bad habit. You have to take responsibility…”

“Didn’t you always want to hear me say I like you? Should I say it more times for you now?”

    “I like you.”

    “I like you…”

“I like you so much, so much, Wen Sinian…”

Suddenly, he felt a gentle touch on his head, as if someone was tenderly stroking him. Xu Yan paused and heard a deep, hoarse voice from beside him.

    “I love you, baby.”

He wasn’t sure if he was hallucinating. With tear-filled eyes, he lifted his head and saw that Wen Sinian was not only awake but also looking down at him.

The grievance in his heart grew stronger, and he pouted desperately, not wanting to cry anymore.

Wen Sinian gently lifted the blanket and patted the space beside him, signaling Xu Yan, “Come up. Let me hold you.”

Xu Yan took off his shoes and then his outerwear and pants, moving carefully so as not to bump into Wen Sinian. He slowly lay down beside him.

Wen Sinian’s arms only had external injuries, which didn’t stop him from holding Xu Yan. He pulled him close, rubbing and nuzzling him, finally feeling some peace of mind.

Xu Yan was still trying to support himself with his arms, lifting his red, swollen eyes to look at Wen Sinian. “Where are you injured? Is it serious? When did you wake up? Do you still feel unwell anywhere? Should I call the doctor in?”

“Just woke up,” Wen Sinian said, holding him tightly. “No need to call the doctor. I’m fine. I just missed you so much it hurt. Let me hold you a little longer.”

Xu Yan quieted down, obediently nestling in his arms, not moving, his body soft, the exposed skin smooth.

Wen Sinian didn’t tell him that he had actually been awake for a while. The doctor sitting by the bed had been checking his condition, confirming he was okay before Xu Yan and Lin Xingxian were pushed in.

He had closed his eyes and pretended to be unconscious, not expecting to overhear such sweet confessions. Now, the person in his arms was obedient beyond belief, letting him do as he pleased without any resistance, even opening his arms wider to feed himself deeper into Wen Sinian’s embrace.

Getting a little injured wasn’t so bad after all.

Xu Yan was desperate to know how Wen Sinian had gotten hurt and where, but Wen Sinian didn’t want to scare him. He didn’t show Xu Yan the dark muzzle of the gun, only revealing some superficial wounds to trick him into thinking he would be fine in a few days.

But Xu Yan wasn’t so easily fooled this time. While Wen Sinian was asleep, he secretly took a flashlight and examined every inch of him, discovering a bandage on his waist. He then subtly questioned the doctor and found out that Wen Sinian had been shot.

Fortunately, although he was injured this time, Wen Sinian had successfully expelled the traitors within the Wen Corporation and seized real power in one fell swoop. It could be said that the entire Wen Corporation had undergone a change of leadership, and now he was in charge.

With no worries, he could now stay at home and recover from his injuries in peace.

After that, Xu Yan never left. He called home every day to reassure his grandmother and stayed to take care of Wen Sinian.

Although he didn’t know much about taking care of someone, he could mimic how Wen Sinian had taken care of him before.

However, Wen Sinian couldn’t bear to let him do anything, asking him to leave everything to the servants. All Xu Yan needed to do was stay quietly by his side.

Wen Sinian’s physical condition was inherently good, and his injuries healed quickly. Before long, he could move freely and even started taking care of Xu Yan again.

Xu Yan had become much more sensible than before. Knowing that Wen Sinian wasn’t fully healed, he no longer deliberately provoked him and even took the initiative to offer kisses.

There were only three days left before Xu Yan started school, and soon he would be attending classes during the day. Wen Sinian would only be able to see him after school.

During these days of being together constantly, Xu Yan was very reluctant to part. At night, he clung to Wen Sinian’s neck, almost in tears.

The more they were in love, the more clingy he became. Fortunately, Wen Sinian was always patient, coaxing him endlessly.

“You can come home every night after school starts. I’ll wait for you and pick you up after class every day, okay?”

    Xu Yan nodded. “Like before.”

Wen Sinian replied, “Mm, just like before.”

Xu Yan was somewhat satisfied. Being able to come home at night was better. Otherwise, if he could only see Wen Sinian once a week, he would probably be miserable every night.

Thinking of this, he snuggled deeper into Wen Sinian’s arms.

“I start school in three days…”

Wen Sinian rubbed his back. “What’s wrong? Don’t want to go to school?”

    “No, it’s not that…”

Xu Yan didn’t know how to say it directly. He rubbed his legs against Wen Sinian and lifted his small face, blinking at him.

Although he didn’t speak, the seductive intent was obvious.

Wen Sinian had been enduring a lot for him, and Xu Yan felt like he was ready. So before school started, they should take the opportunity to try again.

Who knew Wen Sinian would press down on his leg? “Go to sleep.”

Xu Yan’s head was clearly filled with question marks. Seeing Wen Sinian actually close his eyes and prepare to sleep, he stubbornly closed his eyes too.

Not even a second later, he couldn’t help it and opened his eyes again, his soft breath brushing against Wen Sinian’s neck as he deliberately stuck out his tongue and slowly traced it over Wen Sinian’s Adam’s apple.

Feeling Wen Sinian’s body stiffen, Xu Yan’s eyes sparkled with a sense of accomplishment, and like a little animal, he leaned in to lick again.

Wen Sinian directly lifted his face by pinching his cheek, his eyes flashing with a cold light of barely suppressed restraint, staring intently at him. His voice was a bit hoarse. “What are you doing?”

Xu Yan innocently licked his lips, his moist lips as if coated with a tempting sweetness.

“Aren’t you comfortable? I read online that a man’s Adam’s apple is quite sensitive and can elicit a response,” he said, sounding more and more like he was admitting a mistake. “Isn’t it true?”

Seeing Wen Sinian still staring at him, he had no choice but to turn around, presenting his backside to Wen Sinian, tucking himself into the blanket dryly. “I’m going to sleep. Goodnight.”

But just as he had settled down to sleep, something felt off.

Like a red-hot branding iron pressing against his skin, trying to mold him into a matching shape.

Before he could react, he was lifted by the waist and flipped over, straddling Wen Sinian.

He was still concerned about Wen Sinian’s waist injury and quickly supported himself with his legs to avoid it.

Wen Sinian looked at him and asked, “What else did you learn online?”

Xu Yan was no stranger to this position, his face instantly reddening as he stammered, too embarrassed to say, “Also, for the first time, if I’m on top… it might feel better…”

Wen Sinian, half encouraging and half teasing, raised his hand and patted him twice. “Alright, you can be on top.”

Xu Yan hadn’t expected his quick mouth to lead him into such a miserable situation because of some online guide.

Only now did he realize that what Wen Sinian had done to him before was just child’s play. He had never experienced the real deal.

Just as his soul was about to escape from his throat, Wen Sinian suddenly pressed down on his stomach.

He let out a cry and collapsed limply.

Wen Sinian brushed aside all his sweat-dampened hair, leaving a trail of fine, dense kisses on his face.

    “Baby, baby.”

Xu Yan could only struggle to lift his eyelids, staring blankly at Wen Sinian. Sweet, warm water overflowed from the corners of his mouth, and he was too dazed to swallow, so it all ended up being consumed by someone else.

Wen Sinian softly coaxed him, “Say you love me.”

Xu Yan sniffled and softly said, “Love… love you…”

Wen Sinian wasn’t satisfied. “Who loves me?”

Xu Yan opened his mouth. “I… I…”

Wen Sinian kissed his lips and encouraged him, “Good boy. Say it all together.”

Xu Yan said, “I love you, I love you…”

Wen Sinian held the person in his arms firmly against him, feeling the moment their souls merged as one.

He whispered in Xu Yan’s ear, “I love you too, baby.”

If Xu Yan had known the aftermath of their experiment would be like this, he would never have tried to seduce Wen Sinian again.

His memory of what happened afterward was fragmented. All he remembered was feeling like he had gone stupid, he didn’t know if he had rolled his eyes back, but he was sure he had drooled everywhere. In the morning, his throat was so dry it felt like it was on fire, and he had to chug two glasses of water before he felt better.

Wen Sinian applied ointment to his sore bottom, and Xu Yan, feeling wronged and spoiled, acted up even more. Wen Sinian’s injuries weren’t fully healed, yet he continued to act as Xu Yan’s caretaker, chauffeur, servant, and even his dog, doing whatever Xu Yan wanted as long as it made him happy.

Every time Wen Sinian held him, he couldn’t help but reminisce about the wonderful feel of Xu Yan’s body. He wished he could be with him every moment and never part.

But he was also worried about Xu Yan’s body not being able to handle it, so he limited their activities to just once afterward.

Xu Yan still cried and kicked, even almost rolling off the bed, but it was all in vain.

Wen Sinian was like a hyena that had just tasted meat, and with such delicious, tender meat dangling in front of him every day, it would be unnatural not to eat it.

He got slapped in the face often, but the young master’s slaps didn’t hurt. Even when Xu Yan kicked him in the chest, Wen Sinian would just catch his foot and kiss it.

Xu Yan’s heart clearly couldn’t bear to really kick him; otherwise, why would his foot avoid Wen Sinian’s injuries?

Wen Sinian flipped him over, pressing his burning chest against Xu Yan, caressing him, coaxing him, sometimes begging pitifully, and other times teasing him with crude words.

Xu Yan cursed and hit him, but in the end, he was always left dazed and breathless.

During those three days, Xu Yan eagerly awaited the start of school, but when school finally began, he found himself reluctant to leave.

Wen Sinian always drove him to the entrance of the teaching building and opened the car door for him from the passenger side. Xu Yan slowly got out of the car, still holding a bottle of milk that Wen Sinian had handed him.

“You didn’t eat much for breakfast. Drink the milk when you get to the classroom.”

Xu Yan nodded. “Are you busy today?”

Wen Sinian adjusted his collar. “Not busy. I’ll pick you up in the afternoon.”

It was the beginning of the semester, and Xu Yan didn’t have many classes yet. This morning, there was a class meeting, and in the afternoon, only one mandatory class. Wen Sinian had already memorized his schedule.

    Xu Yan nodded again. “Okay.”

The classmates around them had already started heading toward the classroom. Wen Sinian patted his head. “Alright, go on.”

Xu Yan waved goodbye to him and followed the crowd into the teaching building. Halfway there, he turned his head and saw Wen Sinian still standing in the same place, watching him. His heart felt full, and he smiled and waved again before turning and going inside.

The class meeting was simple, just getting to know each other and electing class officers. Xu Yan wasn’t interested in any of that; his mind was on what to eat for lunch.

After the afternoon class, he hurriedly put on his backpack and left the teaching building. Sure enough, he saw Wen Sinian waiting for him under a tree.

“Are you hungry?” Wen Sinian asked, taking his backpack.

Xu Yan nodded vigorously. “I only ate a little at the cafeteria for lunch. I’m so hungry. I want something delicious.”

Wen Sinian asked, “Is the cafeteria food not good?”

    Xu Yan replied, “It’s a bit mediocre…”

As they were talking, someone suddenly called out “Xu Yan” from the side and waved at him. Xu Yan recognized the person as the class monitor they had just elected and smiled in response.

Wen Sinian also glanced over. “Someone you know?”

Xu Yan said, “Our class monitor. He seems like a good person. He even remembered my name right away.”

Although there were many people in the class, remembering Xu Yan was indeed easy.

Wen Sinian couldn’t help but feel a twinge of insecurity. “Are there a lot of guys in your class?”

Xu Yan counted. “It’s okay, about half and half. Why?”

    Wen Sinian just said, “Nothing.”

But in his mind, he was already scheming. University life meant broader social circles and naturally more temptations. He had already bound Xu Yan tightly to him before he even started university, but he couldn’t guarantee that Xu Yan wouldn’t encounter other temptations.

He had to be even better to Xu Yan, pampering him more, making him so comfortable and accustomed that he couldn’t live without him. Only he could tolerate Xu Yan’s bad temper. He needed to cherish Xu Yan, carefully protect him, and spoil him so much that Xu Yan would need him by his side wherever he went.

Only then would he feel at ease.

Thus, apart from picking Xu Yan up before and after classes, Wen Sinian followed him everywhere else, pushing aside other work.

When Xu Yan attended his first class gathering, Wen Sinian wanted to go with him to meet his other classmates. However, since the gathering was for students only, Xu Yan didn’t want special treatment, so he refused to let Wen Sinian come, not even telling him the address of the gathering. He planned to inform Wen Sinian only after it was over so he could pick him up.

At the gathering, Xu Yan had a great time and got to know his classmates better. He forgot to message Wen Sinian in advance and only sent a quick text as he left the private room.

As he walked out of the mall entrance with the others, the class monitor asked if Xu Yan wanted to take a taxi with them. Xu Yan quickly declined, saying he had someone picking him up.

One of the single classmates heard this and became interested. “Oh, you’ve got someone? Who’s picking you up?”

Before Xu Yan could answer, he saw a car parked across the street at some point, with a tall figure leaning against it, looking in their direction, clearly waiting for him.

Xu Yan’s eyes lit up. He had only sent Wen Sinian a message a minute ago and hadn’t expected him to arrive so quickly.

Someone with sharp eyes noticed that the person across the street was there to pick up Xu Yan, and their curiosity was piqued.

“Xu Yan, there’s a handsome guy over there who seems to be looking at you. Who is he?”

“He’s my bodyguard,” Xu Yan said, his eyes curving into a smile, “and also my boyfriend.”

Without waiting to hear what anyone else had to say, he crossed the street and flew into the man’s arms.

Wen Sinian held him tightly, seeing his flushed face and bright, watery eyes, full of surprise and joy.

“How did you get here so fast? Were you nearby?”

Wen Sinian noticed that a few people across the street were still watching them, so he lowered his head and kissed him. “Mm.”

Xu Yan didn’t seem to mind public displays of affection. He stood on his tiptoes and kissed Wen Sinian’s cheek, asking happily, “Are we going home?”

Wen Sinian suddenly felt his own wickedness exposed. He had arrived early at their gathering place, afraid Xu Yan would be unhappy, so he waited outside. Seeing him laughing and talking with others across the street, the twisted possessiveness in his heart almost lost control and acted out…

But all of this was dissolved by a gentle kiss and the smile on Xu Yan’s face.

Wen Sinian also smiled and took his hand.

    “Let’s go home.”
