Read And Be Lazy
    Chapter Index

All the students participating in the seaside team-building activity were added to a large group chat. As expected, Xu Yan saw Zhou Zhengyi and Xu Wenwen in it, and even Li Huaiche. Including students from the directing department, he surprisingly realized he knew quite a few people.

Xu Yan scrolled casually through the group but didn’t see Wen Sinian’s name, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Every time he was with Wen Sinian, he felt like the air grew thinner, and his brain slowed down.

The night before, he had quickly packed his essentials. The group chat had already posted reminders: the beach destination had both beachfront villas and camping tents. Students could choose where to stay—separated by gender—and it would only be for one night, with everyone returning by noon the next day.

Xu Yan packed a change of clothes and toiletries, and also brought two boxes of chocolates. They were from a big batch Year had given him before. He couldn’t finish them alone, so he had already shared some with Shen Nanli and Shang Jia. Now he decided to bring the rest to share with Xu Wenwen and the others.

The next morning, Shen Nanli excitedly knocked on the door of dorm 318. The three roommates were already up. They went together to the school gate to gather with students from other departments and boarded buses in order.

Xu Wenwen spotted Xu Yan from afar and brought a girl friend with her onto the same bus. Xu Yan handed out chocolates from his bag. Xu Wenwen looked him up and down, barely holding back the urge to pinch his face and simply sighed, “Why do you look good in everything? So cute I could die.”

Xu Yan looked down at his outfit. He was wearing men’s clothes that Year had bought him. He didn’t know the brand, but it was fresh, casual, and of high quality. He also wore a light blue jacket over it. His youthful face looked like it could be squeezed for juice.

“…It’s just okay,” Xu Yan muttered shyly, thinking he looked pretty ordinary.

Along the way, Xu Wenwen kept feeding him snacks, and by the time they reached their destination, both Xu Yan and Shen Nanli were stuffed.

After nearly two hours of bumpy bus ride, they finally arrived at the seaside camping grounds. Students from several buses got off and gathered on the beach. A few student council presidents gave speeches, followed by the supervising teacher’s emphasis on safety and rules.

Everyone was itching to have fun at the beach. While listening, many students kept glancing toward the sand and sea nearby. Xu Yan was also infected by the lively atmosphere. Standing at the back row, he whispered with Shen Nanli about waking up early to catch the sunrise and collect seashells.

As they chatted, Xu Yan suddenly felt something was off. He discreetly turned to look behind him. Not far away, there was a large white parasol under which the student council presidents who had just spoken were gathered. And among them, surrounded by conversation, was Wen Sinian.

Wen Sinian had arrived later and didn’t join the main group. He didn’t look like a participant in the team-building activity, more like one of the event organizers.

Xu Yan couldn’t hear what they were saying, but he saw Wen Sinian lazily lift his eyelids and suddenly look straight in his direction.

Caught red-handed, Xu Yan panicked and quickly turned his head away, leaving only the back of his fluffy head exposed. In the sunlight, it looked like a round, plump chestnut.

Shen Nanli asked quietly, “Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Xu Yan whispered back, “Senior Wen is behind us…”

Shen Nanli wasn’t surprised. “It’s not weird that he’s here. His studio is sponsoring the event. Didn’t you see how all the presidents are clinging to him? He’s a walking money tree.”

Xu Yan hadn’t thought of that. “Oh… I see.”

Looks like AG Studio was doing very well. Just sponsoring this event must have cost a fortune.

The teacher on stage was still giving final reminders:

“The official activity begins at 3 PM. You can eat now. Accommodation arrangements will be announced after dinner. Remember, no leaving the campgrounds without permission, and absolutely no swimming in the sea! If anything happens, report to me immediately…”

Before the teacher even finished, students who had been standing for a while couldn’t hold back anymore. Carrying bags and supplies, they ran toward the beach umbrellas.

The weather was cold, so no one planned to swim. BBQ supplies had already been prepared on the sand. Each group received tools and began excitedly starting their grills.

Xu Yan and Shen Nanli were pulled into Xu Wenwen’s group—six people, evenly split three boys and three girls. The other four were all from the sports academy and were easy to get along with.

Just as Xu Yan sat on a small stool, preparing to brush sauce onto skewers, he saw Zhou Zhengyi suddenly approach from another umbrella, holding a plate of already-cooked meat.

“Here, eat this first. Looks like you haven’t got your fire going yet. Didn’t bring a lighter?”

Xu Wenwen and another boy were trying to light the fire with campsite matches—it wasn’t going well. Hearing Zhou Zhengyi, she rolled her eyes.

“None of your damn business. Get lost.”

Zhou Zhengyi ignored her, walked over to Xu Yan, sat down, and handed him the plate. The meat smelled delicious, but Xu Yan was already full from the bus ride and wasn’t hungry at all.

He turned away and coldly refused: “No thanks.”

Zhou Zhengyi said, “You guys might take a while to get cooking. This was done ahead of time. Just have some as a start.”

Xu Yan frowned. “Can you stop bothering me?”

Zhou Zhengyi looked at his face, unable to hold back. “I know, I…”

Before he could finish, a tall shadow suddenly loomed over them, enveloping the slender figure beneath.

Xu Yan looked up, first seeing a pair of long legs, then lifted his gaze into a pair of sharp, indifferent eyes.

Wen Sinian stood tall, looking down at him.

    “No lighter?”

Xu Yan froze, still sitting on the spot, his head just level with Wen Sinian’s thigh. He nodded slightly. “No…”

He hadn’t expected they’d need a lighter today, let alone using the one that Wen Sinian had entrusted to him for safekeeping. He couldn’t just casually use it.

“Come with me,” Wen Sinian said, then turned and walked back toward the camp.

Xu Yan didn’t hesitate. Leaving Zhou Zhengyi behind, he followed.

At the entrance of the campsite was the parking lot, where several buses were neatly parked.
However, there was an out-of-place Aston Martin among them. Xu Yan recognized it as Wen Sinian’s car. He saw Wen Sinian walk to the car, open the door, and take out a lighter. Turning around and leaning against the car, he beckoned to Xu Yan. Xu Yan obediently walked over.
Wen Sinian handed him the lighter, which was black and made of plastic, the kind you could buy at a convenience store for ten yuan. Xu Yan remembered that this was the one he had given to Wen Sinian.
This person had said he was going to quit smoking, so why was there still a lighter in the car? It seemed he had no intention of quitting at all.
Xu Yan said, “Thank you. We’ll return it to you after we’re done.” With that, he turned and ran back with the lighter in his hand.
Wen Sinian remained leaning against the car, his gaze tracing Xu Yan’s figure. He noticed the pant legs fluttering in the sea breeze, empty and loose, revealing only two long, slender legs underneath. His narrow eyes slightly narrowed.
When Xu Yan returned to his group, Zhou Zhengyi had already gone back with a plate, and Xu Wenwen and the others had not yet started the fire. Xu Yan gave them the lighter, and they successfully started the fire in no time.
He had run fast just now and was still catching his breath, so he sat on a small stool to rest.
Shen Nanli asked, “Did Wen Sinian give it to you?”
Xu Yan covered his mouth and whispered, “It’s the one I bought for him before. He didn’t throw it away.”
Shen Nanli was also surprised, “He actually kept it and used it.”
Xu Yan nodded and then saw the WeChat messages on his phone. First, it was from the main account.
[Wen Sinian]: No need to return it.
[Wen Sinian]: You can keep this for me too.
It’s all the same whether you have one lighter or two.
    [Xu Yan]: Okay.
Then it was from the alternate account.
    [Year]: Baby.
[Year]: Did you wear the leg chain?
[Year]: Take a photo for me now.
Xu Yan’s heart skipped a beat. The leg chain was hidden in his backpack, and he indeed had not worn it on his leg. With so many classmates around, he was afraid of being discovered.
    [Year]: Didn’t wear it?
[Year]: Why are you so disobedient?
Xu Yan suddenly stood up, startling Shen Nanli, who asked, “Xu Yan, what’s wrong?”
Xu Yan made an excuse, “I’m going to the restroom. You can eat first; no need to wait for me.”
Xu Wenwen clapped her hands and walked over, “Coincidentally, I want to go too. Let’s go; I’ll accompany you.”
    Xu Yan smiled, “Okay, okay…”
He took some tissues from his bag and quickly stuffed a small black package into his pocket. The two walked towards the restroom together and separated at the entrance.
Xu Yan went into the innermost stall, carefully locked the door, and only then sat on the toilet and took out the small black plastic bag.
He opened it, and a beautiful and exquisite silver leg chain was placed in his fair palm.
Xu Yan first replied to the message on the alternate account.
[Yanyan]: I wore it. I need to find a place without people to take a photo.
    [Yanyan]: What about you?
[Yanyan]: You probably didn’t wear it either. You didn’t send me a photo.
Unexpectedly, as soon as the message was sent, a photo was sent over from the other side. It seemed to be taken in the car. The white T-shirt was lifted up from the bottom, revealing well-defined abdominal and chest muscles. The fair forearm even showed faint blue veins. Shining in the sunlight was the silver chest chain wrapped around the strong and powerful torso.
Xu Yan’s eyes were sparkling and slightly wide as he stared at the photo in amazement for a long time. The more he looked, the redder his fair ears became, and the blush even spread to his collar. He… he actually wore it out…
    [Year]: Show baby for inspection.
Xu Yan had no choice but to poke at the screen with his fingers.
    [Yanyan]: Okay then.
[Yanyan]: You have to wait for me.
[Year]: Don’t let anyone find out, baby.
Xu Yan bit his lip. This bad guy knew that he might be discovered but still wanted him to wear it. What a big bad guy. Fortunately, the pants he was wearing today were loose, but he still couldn’t lift the pant legs to his thighs. He tried a few times and finally pulled the pants down to his knees before starting to put on the leg chain.
The moment the cold metal touched his warm and fair skin, Xu Yan couldn’t help but shiver all over. He quickly fastened the chain around his thigh and adjusted the hanging chain net. The entire thigh, with a slight fleshiness, was obediently wrapped in it.
The black onyx butterflies adorned it, and with slightly larger hands, one could easily hold the thigh meat encircled by the chain net.
The chain extended all the way to the knee. Xu Yan pushed his pants down again to his ankles before he could put on the leg chain for the calf. He stood up and looked.
Now, his two slender and white legs were tightly bound by the silver chains. Under the light above, they shone brightly, making his delicate skin appear as white as jade.
The area around his knees had a pinkish blush, as if they were meant to be displayed in a showcase for people to admire, like a beautiful work of art.
Xu Yan found an angle, his face almost blushing, and quickly took a photo and sent it out. Xu Wenwen sent a message asking him to go back first. He pulled his pants back up, sat on the toilet to calm down, and patted his cheeks, hoping the blush would fade away soon.
After a while, a message came from the alternate account.
    [Year]: Baby, so obedient.
[Year]: So beautiful, how did you grow up like this?
    [Year]: Wear it well.
    [Year]: Want to kiss you.
The heat on Xu Yan’s cheeks, which had just subsided, was about to rise again. He quickly replied with a “No” and then left the restroom with his phone in hand. With the leg chains on both legs, he could feel the cool metal gently rubbing against the soft flesh of his legs as he walked.
Xu Yan lowered his head and walked straight back to his group’s spot. When Xu Wenwen and the others saw him return, they handed him some skewers. Xu Yan sat on a small stool, hugging his knees, and shook his head. “I’m not hungry. You guys eat.”
Shen Nanli then handed him a piece of small cake, “Then have some dessert. Senior Wen sent one to each group, saying this flavor is the best. I remember you like it too.”
Xu Yan took a bite. The camellia-flavored cake was sweet and delicious. He did like it, and this brand of cake was expensive. It must not have been cheap to send them here. “It’s so good.” Xu Yan took another bite.
Shen Nanli leaned in and whispered, “I remember the top sponsor also bought you this cake. My senior sister and I also got to taste it. It’s indeed delicious.”
Xu Yan nodded, “But Senior Wen also gave me one. However, the one he gave me was…” Xu Yan suddenly paused as if he thought of something. Wen Sinian and Year had both given him cakes. But the small camellia-flavored cake was given to him by Year last time.
