Crossdress Ch42
by 707The sky outside had already turned dark, and the cold wind howled.
Xu Yan’s skirt was being blown about messily, and his legs trembled slightly from the chill.
He wrapped himself tightly in Wen Sinian’s jacket, burying most of his small face into it, and hailed a ride back to Shang Jia’s small studio.
As soon as he pushed open the door, a delicious aroma greeted him.
Shang Jia and Shen Nanli were just eating dinner, and were shocked to see him.
“Yanyan, why are you back already?”
“We thought you were going to have dinner with Year-Ge. You didn’t reply to any of our messages.”
Xu Yan was shivering from the cold, his complexion pale, which made his lips look even redder, like fresh blood.
“My phone… it broke.”
Shang Jia quickly gave him his clothes. “Go change first. My fault, I forgot to have you wear thermal leggings before going out. It’s so cold, don’t let your legs freeze.”
Xu Yan took off the coat, hugged his clothes, and went into the bathroom to change. When he came back out, he saw Shang Jia and Shen Nanli staring at the jacket and a brand-new phone on the table.
He walked over and proactively explained, “Because my phone broke, he let me use his for now.”
Shang Jia asked, “Then where’s your phone?”
Xu Yan replied honestly, “With him.”
Shen Nanli immediately exclaimed, “What if he finds out about your main account?! That would be game over!”
Xu Yan remained calm. “He doesn’t know my screen password, and I also set app locks. He can’t get in.”
The two finally relaxed and began prying into the situation.
Shang Jia: “So how was the meetup? What does Year-ge look like? Is he handsome?”
Shen Nanli: “This coat is his too, right? It’s LV—so expensive! Year-Ge is really generous.”
Shang Jia: “What did you two do all this time? Just watched a movie? Didn’t you say you were going to break up? Did you talk? Did you break up?”
Shen Nanli: “Yanyan, your lips are so red and a bit swollen. Did you guys eat spicy food again?”
Shang Jia squinted at him and smacked Shen Nanli’s head. “Spicy food my ass, you know nothing.”
Shen Nanli rubbed his head innocently. He really didn’t know. Shang Jia just grinned at Xu Yan and said, “Didn’t go through with the breakup, huh?”
Xu Yan sat down in a chair, Shen Nanli handed him chopsticks, and Shang Jia filled his bowl with rice.
Sniffling, he looked even more pitiful. “Mm…”
Not only did they not break up, he was bullied pretty badly.
Shen Nanli slammed the table in outrage. “What the hell, what’s up with Year-Ge? You wanted to break up and he didn’t agree? Come on, Yanyan, I’ll back you up, let’s go confront him!”
Shang Jia looked exasperated and pushed Shen Nanli back down. “Can you calm down a bit?”
Then she went into her room and came back shortly holding something, which she handed to Xu Yan.
Xu Yan took it and found it was a brand-new lipstick.
“It’s really good. It’s a gift.” Shang Jia winked and gossiped, “So, is Year-Ge super handsome?”
She could tell from the moment Xu Yan walked through the door looking like a shy little wife.
“He’s… okay,” Xu Yan replied.
He was really handsome, but Xu Yan didn’t dare admit it.
Shang Jia pressed on, “How’s the body?”
Xu Yan couldn’t help recalling being pressed onto the bed by those hard, iron-like muscles, practically roasted alive.
“…Also okay,” he muttered, even softer.
Shang Jia got it.
So, he’s got looks, a great body, money, and most importantly, he’s Xu Yan’s devoted simp.
She had figured it out. Xu Yan might look harmless and innocent, but every little action could tame a person into a lapdog.
Even she and Shen Nanli took extra care of him, sometimes wanting to tie him to their belts so he wouldn’t get snatched away.
But really, it was that face of his, that was the true charm spell.
Year-Ge had clearly fallen hard.
Shang Jia said, “Come on, let’s eat before the food gets cold.”
Shen Nanli couldn’t understand why Shang Jia wasn’t taking Xu Yan’s side anymore. He was still worried and even quietly asked why Xu Yan’s foundation was coming off.
Xu Yan was startled and immediately covered his face and ran to the bathroom.
Sure enough, the foundation on his cheek had smudged a little, revealing soft, pale skin beneath. If you looked closely, you could even make out what looked like… teeth marks.
Bitten by a dog.
Xu Yan flushed with anger and embarrassment, and in a fit of rage, removed all his makeup.
Luckily, the two outside hadn’t lit up the phone screen—or they would’ve seen his wallpaper.
After removing his makeup and washing his face, Xu Yan came back out to eat.
After dinner, he and Shen Nanli returned to campus together.
After much hesitation, he finally unlocked Wen Sinian’s phone.
Just seeing the wallpaper made his cheeks burn. Huffing angrily, he tapped into WeChat and found that, as expected, Wen Sinian had two accounts, and both were logged in openly, neither logged out.
As if he had nothing to hide, waiting for Xu Yan to inspect them.
But Xu Yan wasn’t interested in snooping. He simply logged out of both accounts and logged in with his own.
Then, feeling a little guilty, he tapped into the photo album. He’d caught a glimpse in the car before, but now he could confirm.
He hadn’t seen wrong.
There weren’t many photos. Just two albums.
One was labeled Work, full of meeting and product photos.
The other was called Baby, completely full of Xu Yan in skirts, with a few photos and videos of Wen Sinian himself mixed in. Xu Yan had seen all of them.
Scrolling further, he found screenshots of their chat records too.
After a few more swipes, Xu Yan’s face was burning red. He couldn’t bear to keep looking, so he locked the phone and felt like steam was rising from his head.
What is this guy, a shrine maiden?
Collecting all of his photos like that, what exactly was he trying to do?
Thinking about it, since the phone was in his hands and Wen Sinian had agreed to the swap, this phone was his for now.
So he long-pressed the album and hit Delete.
Finally, peace.
His alt account then received a few messages.
【Year】: Did you get home, baby?
【Year】: I already miss you even though we just parted
【Year】: Can we meet again tomorrow?
Xu Yan licked his lips, still a little sore.
He applied some lip balm, scowled, and coldly replied with a stone face.
【Yanyan】: No.
【Year】: Baby, are you busy?
【Yanyan】: I have class.
【Year】: Can I come keep you company in class?
【Yanyan】: No, no.
【Yanyan】: Don’t come looking for me.
【Year】: I miss you so much, what should I do?
【Year】: I lost all the photos when I switched phones.
Xu Yan couldn’t help but smile, he didn’t even know that Xu Yan had also deleted all the photos from this phone.
Hmph.
That’s what he gets for bullying him.
【Yanyan】: Then where’s my phone?
A photo came in from the other side, his beat-up little phone lay quietly on a rosewood desk, surrounded by a few scattered tools.
【Year】: Fixing it for baby now~
Xu Yan got annoyed again. Why was he always saying such unserious stuff?
【Yanyan】: I don’t want it anymore.
He locked the screen right after sending that and didn’t reply to any more messages, no matter what the other side sent.

The next day during class, Xu Yan still felt a bit awkward handling Wen Sinian’s phone.
While the teacher was lecturing, he kept fiddling with it in his hand, to the point where Shen Nanli next to him couldn’t help but whisper, “We get it, you got a new phone, stop showing off.”
Xu Yan quickly stuffed the phone into his pocket, embarrassed. “I’m not showing off.”
He really wasn’t. He just liked how it felt in his hand and wanted to hold it a bit longer, once they met again and switched back, he wouldn’t be able to anymore.
The teacher gave the final project guidelines during class: everyone had to pair up into small groups of three and submit a completed video assignment by the end. It had to be at least five minutes long.
The students groaned in protest, but no one dared rebel.
Naturally, Xu Yan teamed up with Shen Nanli, and they pulled in Zhao Qingji as well. After all, they had already worked together once before and had built some decent rapport.
After class, the teacher called Xu Yan and Zhao Qingji aside and told them this project wasn’t something they could just half-ass. Each team’s final video would be submitted to a national college competition, and based on past performance, the teacher had high hopes for the two of them.
Even if the teacher hadn’t said anything, Xu Yan would’ve given it his all.
When he got back to the dorm, he immediately began brainstorming a script. He came up with several but ended up rejecting them all. Zhao Qingji even came over to help him brainstorm, and the two of them were deep in thought when Shen Nanli suddenly burst into the room with breaking news.
“I heard Song Ning’s group is going all out to win that national competition. They even recruited students from the art school to be their actors! Other groups have started pulling in people too. Our school only has so many good-looking ones—shouldn’t we act fast?”
Zhao Qingji: “Is it really that serious?”
Xu Yan added, “I still think the script and filming are more important.”
Shen Nanli looked at them like they were hopeless. “Don’t you know the first round is a popularity vote? If someone picks the campus beauty or a heartthrob, they’ll rake in votes and we won’t stand a chance.”
Zhao Qingji suddenly slammed the table: “We need to find someone now!”
Xu Yan’s eyes were firm: “Actors are key!”
Shen Nanli then leaned in a bit sneakily and shook Xu Yan’s hand. “Yanyan, I think we’ve got this in the bag.”
Xu Yan replied, “I can’t act, I have to be behind the camera.”
Shen Nanli: “I’m not talking about you. Doesn’t our dorm have someone else?”
He glanced toward Wen Sinian’s empty bed.
Xu Yan instantly pulled his hand back, face full of “are you crazy?”
“You have to have dreams, right? What if Senior Wen actually says yes?” Shen Nanli encouraged him. “You won’t know unless you ask! Beg him a little, he might not say no.”
“Besides, you two are pretty close, aren’t you?”
Xu Yan seemed to think of something. He licked his lips, and even his lashes trembled nervously.
Yeah, they were pretty close.
After all… his lips were still swollen from being kissed.
