Read And Be Lazy
    Chapter Index

Xu Yan bit down on the rabbit’s ear, not daring to breathe too hard.

The dorm bed was sturdy, but any big movement would make it creak.

He was tightly bound, the large hands on his legs pressing into his flesh as if trying to embed themselves. He didn’t dare struggle too much, afraid the roommates below would notice.

Wen Sinian, however, seemed to have no such concerns. With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he pressed Xu Yan’s legs together, hoisted them over his shoulders, and then pulled him up from the mattress by his arms.

Xu Yan’s body was almost folded in half, his thighs pressed tightly against his waist, and he could clearly feel his stomach fluttering.

He wanted to cry but didn’t dare make a sound, his tears silently streaming down.

Wen Sinian’s bed was really soft and comfortable, but now it was soaked, and he didn’t know if it had seeped through to the layers below.

He felt like he had been pulled out of water, his throat dry, all moisture scraped away, and he could only helplessly lick his own lips.

There were two minutes left before lights out. Zhao Qingji’s voice came from below: “Curfew’s almost here. Why isn’t Xu Yan back yet?”

Li Huaiche was still rushing to finish his final project, speaking quietly with headphones on: “Why don’t you call him and ask if he’s coming back? I’m busy here, don’t know how late I’ll be up. The deadline’s tomorrow, I thought it was next week, and there was no notice in the group chat.”

Zhao Qingji also whispered reassuringly: “It’s fine, you work. I’ll review a bit more tonight, no rush.”

“Shh, keep it down. Is Wen-Ge already asleep?”

Both fell silent, listening for movement from the upper bunk.

Wen Sinian had already positioned Xu Yan on his side, lying behind him, his arm tightly around Xu Yan’s waist, leaving no space between them.

Xu Yan couldn’t help but want to make a sound. He pulled the blanket over his face, burying it deep, hiding his flushed cheeks.

Wen Sinian held him, not moving for a moment, savoring the hot, soft body in his arms and the slight tremors of someone unable to bear it.

He buried his breath in Xu Yan’s neck, lightly inhaling his scent.

His eyes were filled with an overflowing infatuation and madness.

Just a few days apart, and it was like the first time, being with Xu Yan brought immense satisfaction, body and soul swelling with joy.

Possessiveness and destructiveness raged within him. He wanted Xu Yan to cry out, wanted everyone to know about them, to ensure Xu Yan could never escape his grasp.

But the blanket was pulled back, and he felt Xu Yan’s wet, soft face. He kissed him tenderly, pressing him deeper into his embrace.

The whimpers were swallowed, but some wet sounds still escaped.

Below, the two roommates heard the faint noise and whispered, “Wen-Ge?”

The room fell silent again, no response.

Li Huaiche called out softly, “Wen-Ge, are you asleep?”

A hoarse voice came from behind the bed curtain: “No.”

Li Huaiche felt a little embarrassed: “Did we wake you up?”

There was a brief silence behind the curtain, then it was suddenly lifted as Wen Sinian got out of bed.

He walked to the desk, picked up a bottle of water, and drank deeply.

Li Huaiche and Zhao Qingji both looked at him. He was fully dressed, his hair slightly messy, his expression calm as usual, but his eyes held a hint of something indescribable, like spring water that couldn’t be dispersed.

“Xu Yan won’t be back tonight,” Wen Sinian said. “No need to call him.”

Zhao Qingji: “Oh, did he tell you in advance?”

    “Mm.”

    “That’s good.”

Wen Sinian, holding the glass water bottle, turned to go back to bed. Li Huaiche quickly called out, “Wen-Ge, help! There’s a part of my project I just can’t get right, it keeps bugging out. Can you take a look? It’s due tomorrow. Did you finish yours?”

Wen Sinian’s assignment was already submitted. Li Huaiche’s pitiful plea made him glance at the bed curtain, his expression cooling slightly, but he still walked over to Li Huaiche’s desk.

    “Where?”

    “Here, here, and these below.”

This wasn’t just one problem, it was wrong from start to finish.

Wen Sinian pointed out several mistakes, then, impatient with Li Huaiche’s slow typing, patted his shoulder to move aside.

Li Huaiche quickly gave up his seat. Wen Sinian sat down, fixed the remaining errors in a few swift moves, ran the program, and it worked perfectly.

Li Huaiche was so grateful he almost cried: “Amazing! I’ve been stuck for days. Wen-Ge, you’re my savior!”

Wen Sinian, annoyed by the noise, frowned: “Can you sleep now?”

Li Huaiche hurriedly turned off the light and got into bed. Zhao Qingji also decided not to stay up and went to bed.

The room plunged into darkness. Wen Sinian turned on a flashlight and lifted the curtain. The bed was a mess, with a damp, trembling figure curled up inside. Only twenty minutes had passed, but Xu Yan was already exhausted and fast asleep. His face was pressed against his beloved long-eared rabbit plushie, the blanket covering his stomach and thighs, lying on his side facing the wall, curled into a soft S-shape. The flashlight was a bit bright, so Wen Sinian dimmed it with his finger, casting a gentle red glow over Xu Yan’s body.

He was as white as jade, now glistening with a layer of sweet moisture. His long lashes were clumped together from tears, his cheeks flushed from his ears down to his neck, his chest rising and falling slightly with each breath. He didn’t seem to be sleeping peacefully; his smooth legs occasionally twitched in the air, rubbing against the blanket before he pouted and drifted back to sleep.

Wen Sinian didn’t turn off the flashlight. He pulled the blanket and climbed into bed. The disheveled sheets held a damp figure. After a twenty-minute delay, Xu Yan was already asleep from exhaustion. His face was pressed against his cherished rabbit, the blanket covering his stomach and thighs, lying on his side facing the wall, curled into a soft S-shape.

The single bed was too small for two, especially since Wen Sinian was nearly twice Xu Yan’s size. Half-asleep, Xu Yan felt himself being squeezed and grumbled, “Don’t squeeze me…”

Wen Sinian simply wrapped his arms around him and whispered in his ear, “Baby, lie on top of me, okay?”

Xu Yan didn’t even open his eyes, just mumbled sleepily.

Wen Sinian rolled him over, letting him lie on top of him.

Now, there was no more squeezing.

Xu Yan quickly fell back asleep. Wen Sinian lifted his face and kissed his lips for a while. Xu Yan was so obedient when asleep, never resisting, only softly whimpering when his tongue was bitten, his fingers clawing weakly at Wen Sinian’s chest.

Wen Sinian saw him sleeping soundly, his body soft and slippery under his touch. He pulled the blanket over both of them and forced Xu Yan’s legs apart.

    …

Xu Yan woke up early the next morning, feeling like he had slept on a furnace all night, not cold at all, but sweating all over.

His two roommates left even earlier—one for an 8 a.m. class, the other rushing to submit an assignment. The sound of the door closing finally woke Xu Yan up.

    He blinked, something felt off.

Not only had he slept in Wen Sinian’s bed last night, he had slept on top of Wen Sinian himself.

He tried to move his legs, but both were numb, almost cramping.

A hand tightened around his lower back, and Xu Yan gasped.

    “Are you awake?”

Xu Yan’s eyes burned with unshed tears. Given what they had been doing, it was hard not to wake up.

When had it ended last night? Or had it ever stopped at all…

Wen Sinian chuckled softly. “Did you enjoy yourself last night, little brother?”

Xu Yan was too embarrassed and angry to speak. He glared at Wen Sinian, especially annoyed that he still called him “little brother.”

What kind of senior bullied his junior like this?

Knowing full well they had roommates, yet he had been so excessive.

“Don’t…” Xu Yan’s arms were weak. “I… I need to get up.”

Wen Sinian supported his upper body, letting him sit up and lean against his chest, but he didn’t let go of his waist.

“It’s gone now,” Wen Sinian pressed down firmly, “but it’ll rise again.”

There was no need to worry about the bed creaking or being overheard anymore.

Wen Sinian was even starting to appreciate the charm of the narrow single bed in the dorm, wondering if he should get one for himself at home. That way, Xu Yan would have nowhere to hide, if he didn’t obediently lie soft and pliant on top of him, he’d fall off the bed.

The flimsy single bed creaked for a long time.

Wen Sinian carried Xu Yan off the bed and into the bathroom.

After they came out, he dressed Xu Yan and made a call, intending to have someone come and replace the entire bedding and mattress.

Xu Yan panicked and stopped him, refusing to let anyone else change the sheets, wouldn’t that reveal what they had done on the bed?

Seeing Xu Yan’s aggrieved expression, Wen Sinian just kissed his cheek and agreed.

Wen Sinian personally stripped the bed, not keeping anything, since they were moving out soon. He packed everything up and threw it away.

Xu Yan looked at his own pile of things and worried—moving was such a hassle. Even though he didn’t have much, packing it all up would take a while.

To his surprise, Wen Sinian didn’t let him lift a finger. He hired a moving company, gave the dorm manager a heads-up, and while the dorm was empty during the day, had all their belongings moved intact to the villa.

Then came the task of explaining to their two roommates. Wen Sinian not living in the dorm was normal, but Xu Yan made up an excuse, saying he needed to be closer to the hospital to take care of his grandmother, so he rented a place nearby.

Li Huaiche and Zhao Qingji both understood.

Shen Nanli, however, wasn’t so easy to fool. Xu Yan took him and Shang Jia out to a restaurant, splurging on the most expensive set menu on the second floor, then confessed that he was moving in with Wen Sinian.

The two were indeed shocked, but after Shang Jia gave Shen Nanli a talking-to, he understood that no matter how Xu Yan and Wen Sinian’s relationship developed, it was their own choice. As friends, they could care and remind, but it was best not to interfere.

After all, it was the two of them in the relationship, and only they truly knew their feelings for each other.

Shang Jia asked, “Xu Yan, are you sure you’ve thought this through? Moving in together is a big step—it’s almost like living as a couple. You’ll see each other all the time, and there might be friction or even arguments.”

Shen Nanli also asked, “Have you two ever fought?”

Xu Yan thought for a moment. “Not yet.”

Whether it was Year or Wen Sinian, neither had ever lost their temper with him, not even a harsh word.

Except for being fierce and scary in bed, he was always gentle and considerate, taking good care of him and indulging him in every way.

He was soft-hearted to begin with, and against Wen Sinian’s tactics, he had no defense.

Shang Jia: “I didn’t expect Year to move so fast. When are you planning to move in?”

Xu Yan answered honestly, “Actually… I’ve already moved in. I’m staying there tonight.”

Shen Nanli couldn’t help but let out a sharp wail, “Ahhhh, why are you leaving today?! What am I supposed to do without you, wuuu!”

Shang Jia was displeased. “Hey, I’m still here, aren’t I?”

Shen Nanli: “You’re not on campus every day. Who’s going to eat with me?”

Xu Yan: “I’ll still be on campus during the day. Final exams are coming up, so I’ll be here to study every day. I can still keep you company until winter break.”

Shen Nanli was reassured. At least Xu Yan hadn’t lost his head over love and forgotten about his studies.

After eating, the three of them went to the library. Xu Yan and Shen Nanli studied, and Shang Jia worked on her graduation project.
