Crossdress Ch69part2
by 707Shen Nanli wiped his forehead. “Helping you and Grandma clean, obviously! You’re up so late, we’ve already been working for a while.”
“You’re not selling goods today?”
Shen Nanli grinned. “Sold out! We even cleared our entire stock. This year’s a huge win! You two are my lucky stars, ever since you arrived, my goods have been flying off the shelves.”
Shang Jia chimed in, “Stop chatting and keep moving! Don’t let your hands rest.”
Xu Yan grabbed a broom and headed out. “Then I’ll clean the yard.”
Shang Jia peeked outside. “The yard’s already being taken care of, no need for you.”
Xu Yan stood at the entrance to the living room and saw three people already busy in the yard. Grandma sat in her wheelchair, hands on her hips, giving directions. The other two were feeding chickens and ducks and washing the yard, bustling about energetically.
The already small courtyard looked even more crowded.
Xu Yan stood dumbfounded and walked over to Grandma. “Why are there so many people at home…”
Just then, several round yellow fluffballs squeezed out through the bamboo fence and started darting around the yard.
Grandma quickly shouted, “Stop! Stop working! Catch the chickens and ducks first!”
With that order, Wen Sinian and Zhuang Sheng in the yard, along with Shang Jia and Shen Nanli inside the house, all stopped what they were doing and rushed into the yard to catch the runaway yellow fluffballs.
The courtyard was instantly filled with flying feathers and flapping wings—utter chaos.
Xu Yan helped chase them down with a broom, but didn’t watch where he was going and collided head-on with Shang Jia. Both of them fell to the ground with a loud “Oof!”
Shen Nanli burst out laughing at the sight of them, holding his stomach.
Zhuang Sheng was the one who went to help Shang Jia up, holding back his laughter as he asked if she was alright.
Meanwhile, Wen Sinian picked Xu Yan up from the ground, his eyes full of concern. He didn’t care about the others watching and carried Xu Yan over to the stone bench by the fence. He crouched down in front of him and gently touched his cheek.
“Where did you hit yourself? Move your hand, I want to see.”
Xu Yan slowly moved his hand from his forehead. Wen Sinian brushed aside his bangs and sure enough, a large red spot had formed on his pale forehead. It looked like it would swell up soon.
Wen Sinian gently touched the spot, and Xu Yan hissed in pain. Tears welled up in his eyes again.
“That hurts…”
On the other side, Shang Jia had also hit her head and had a big bump. Seeing Xu Yan being led away by Wen Sinian, hand in hand, while she could only clutch her head in silent agony, then noticing that Shen Nanli was still laughing, she immediately pounced on him and started smacking him angrily.
The courtyard once again became lively and noisy.
Wen Sinian sat Xu Yan down on the sofa. “Do we not have any anti-swelling ointment at home?”
Xu Yan hesitated for a moment, then replied softly, “In my room…”
Wen Sinian went to the study to search, and sure enough, there was a familiar tube of ointment on the bedside cabinet.
When he returned with it, Xu Yan was using a mirror to examine his forehead.
Wen Sinian took the mirror away. “The skin didn’t break. With some ointment, it’ll heal quickly.”
Xu Yan didn’t say anything. His eyes were red-rimmed as he looked at Wen Sinian, pitifully, just like the bunny last night.
Wen Sinian felt a deep ache in his heart. He dipped his fingers into the ointment and carefully applied it to Xu Yan’s forehead, gently reminding him, “Rest in your room for a while. I’ll take care of cleaning outside.”
Xu Yan looked at him. “Do you even know how?”
Wen Sinian answered confidently, “I do.”
Xu Yan still looked doubtful. “We also have to prepare for tonight’s New Year’s Eve dinner.”
Wen Sinian finished applying the ointment, leaned forward to blow on the spot, and said, “Leave everything to me. If there’s anything I don’t know, I’ll ask you. You just supervise, okay?”
Only then did Xu Yan nod.
Wen Sinian put the ointment away. His fingertips still felt cool and slightly sticky from the cream. Because of the way he had been applying it, they had unknowingly ended up very close.
He was still cupping Xu Yan’s cheek with one hand when he asked, “Is the bunny better this morning?”
Xu Yan replied, “It’s fine now. Playing by itself in the box.”
“It didn’t disturb you last night?”
“No, it was well-behaved,” Xu Yan said. Then he hesitated before asking, “Last night… you didn’t go home at all, did you?”
Wen Sinian admitted directly, “No. I was afraid you’d call me.”
Xu Yan noticed the tiredness in his expression. “You haven’t been resting properly these past few days, have you? You leave so late, then come so early. How many hours of sleep are you even getting? And during the day you’re still doing chores, aren’t you going to collapse from exhaustion?”
Wen Sinian knew Xu Yan must’ve checked his location history.
Hearing this scolding, this concern, he actually felt a strange sense of satisfaction inside.
It was a kind of right he had given Xu Yan, the right to care, to manage him. And he enjoyed it. His heart felt light.
He gently stroked Xu Yan’s cheek with his fingertips and lowered his voice. “A little tired.”
In truth, he had also been juggling thesis work and meetings, even squeezing in two video conferences.
Xu Yan pushed his hand away and scolded, “You’re not allowed to keep doing this. You must sleep properly at night. If not, you’re not allowed to come to my house.”
Wen Sinian’s gaze landed on his lips. “I can’t sleep.”
“How come?”
“Because… you’re not there.”
Xu Yan was stunned. Then he seemed to think of something. “Wait… did you bring your medication?”
Wen Sinian answered calmly, “No.”
Xu Yan was shocked. “Ah? Then how did you… manage?”
Wen Sinian said, “I didn’t.”
He hadn’t touched himself in all the days Xu Yan was away.
Given his usual frequency with Xu Yan, it was surprising he could even think straight without a dose.
Yet here he was, calmly talking face-to-face with Xu Yan.
A flicker of hope flashed in Xu Yan’s eyes. “Could it be that… you’re cured?”
Wen Sinian pulled his hand over. “What do you think?”
Xu Yan felt like he’d been burned and immediately yanked his hand back. He stuttered, “Y-you’re so indecent…”
Wen Sinian let out a soft laugh, a bit bitter.
“Mm, you can call me whatever you want, baby.”
He was indecent, twisted, dark, and possessive. But as long as Xu Yan didn’t leave him, he’d accept anything.
Wen Sinian pulled a tissue and changed the subject. As he slowly wiped the ointment from his fingertips, he asked lightly, “Why’d you bring the ointment out of your room too?”
Xu Yan shifted uncomfortably and glared at him.
He was pretending not to know.
Wen Sinian’s voice was filled with concern. “You even left it by the bedside… where are you still swollen?”
Xu Yan didn’t want to answer. He snatched the ointment from his hand and tried to leave.
But suddenly, an arm wrapped around his waist, gently, but firmly. Xu Yan couldn’t move. Then his long legs accidentally tripped, and he ended up straddling Wen Sinian’s lap.
Wen Sinian held him securely and reminded him, “Careful.”
Xu Yan’s face flushed. His hands braced against Wen Sinian’s shoulders as he glared, puffing his cheeks. “This is all your fault!”
Wen Sinian, worried he might fall, cupped Xu Yan’s soft bottom with both hands.
“It’s all my fault. Poor baby, aren’t you?”
Then, in a voice only the two of them could hear, he whispered in Xu Yan’s ear,
“That day… I went too hard. Is it still swollen down there?”
Xu Yan had been applying ointment for days, and it did seem to be better. But Wen Sinian had really been rough that time. It had been hard to apply the medicine by himself.
Xu Yan slapped a hand over his mouth and shot a nervous glance at the door. “Y-you’re talking nonsense again!”
Wen Sinian’s lips rubbed against his palm as he spoke again:
“Your hand’s so small… can it even reach deep enough?”
“…Want me to help?”
