Read And Be Lazy
    Chapter Index

His fingertips became wet, slowly spreading from the finger pad to the root of the finger.

Xu Yan stared wide-eyed, no one at home dared to disobey him like this.

He immediately tried to pull his hand back, but it was gripped even tighter, sucked even deeper.

His heart was pounding wildly, as if it was about to jump out of his throat, and his eyes were red with suppressed emotion, “You, stop licking me…”

All he could hear was the suppressed, animalistic panting in his ear. He was squeezed uncomfortably, his body almost pressed into a thin sheet of paper. The hand at his waist suddenly pressed down on his waist, and he shivered and collapsed forward.

    A gasp escaped his throat.

    “Ah, “

Wen Sinian’s scalp tingled, and he suddenly released his hand, his breathing heavy and slow, his gaze fixed on his slightly parted lips.

Red, moist, they looked sweet, something he had coveted for a long time.

As if losing his mind, he lowered his head to kiss them.

Just as he was about to touch, another crisp slap echoed in the car.

Xu Yan raised his other hand, almost driven to tears, sobbing softly, his eyes red as he cursed, “You crazy maniac, mad dog! Let go of me, I want to get out of the car, you’re not allowed to kiss me… not allowed to kiss…”

Although he was the one who hit, he was also the one who suffered the greatest grievance.

His beautiful, moist little face was especially pitiful.

Wen Sinian hadn’t intended to make him cry. He had only wanted to touch his little hand, but holding him in his arms made him feel so fragrant and soft, how could he resist teasing him.

“I’m sorry, it’s my fault. Don’t blame me, okay? Don’t cry, okay?” Wen Sinian coaxed softly, taking his hand to slap his face again, “If you’re still angry, hit me again. I was just worried about you.”

Xu Yan really shed tears, sliding down his fair little face. Wen Sinian almost couldn’t bear it.

“Don’t cry. I made a mistake. You can punish me however you want,” Wen Sinian carefully held his face, gently wiping away the tears on his face with his fingertips. “I promise to listen to you in the future. I swear, as long as you don’t fire me, don’t drive me away, I promise to treat you as my master. I can do anything, even be your dog, okay?”

This condition sounded pretty good. Xu Yan blinked, his mind already starting to consider it.

“But you didn’t listen to me just now,” he sniffled, “I told you to let go, and you actually… wanted to kiss me.”

Wen Sinian’s attitude was very humble, his voice sincere, “I was wrong. Did I scare you? I didn’t control myself well because you’re too beautiful, too cute, and I like you too much.”

Xu Yan’s eyes suddenly widened, staring at him blankly, “What are you saying?”

Wen Sinian was open and honest, his eyes filled with his figure, “I said, I like you.”

Xu Yan was completely stunned, not knowing how his face was wiped clean, how he was led upstairs.

Sitting at the dining table eating, his mind kept thinking about Wen Sinian’s words.

How could he suddenly confess to him, saying he liked him? Was it true?

They had only known each other for a short time. How much could he like him? Could it be that he was deliberately saying this to flatter him, to make him give him a raise?

If that were the case, he would be too bad.

Xu Yan thought as he buried his head in his meal. His grandmother had given him carrots, which he didn’t like, but he ate them without changing his expression.

His grandmother was shocked and put down her chopsticks, asking with concern, “Sweetie, what’s wrong? Did something happen? At school? Or did your dad pressure you again?”

The butler beside her also hurriedly asked, “Young Master, whatever it is, don’t keep it to yourself. Tell us, and we’ll definitely find a way to solve it.”

    Xu Yan frowned, “Nothing.”

Grandmother, “Don’t try to hide it from me. Your expression doesn’t look like nothing’s wrong. Did someone bully you at school?”

Xu Yan pouted. He had indeed been bullied, but not at school.

Wen Sinian wasn’t around at the moment, and he pitifully called out, “Grandma…”

The old lady quickly took his hand, “Sweetie, tell Grandma what happened.”

Xu Yan’s palm still felt tingly, and Wen Sinian’s face probably bore his fingerprints.

“It’s just… someone was really bad. He made me very angry today, so I hit him.”

The butler hurriedly asked, “Where was the bodyguard? Why did you have to take matters into your own hands?”

Xu Yan pursed his lips and didn’t speak.

Grandmother couldn’t tell what was going on, “Was it the bodyguard who made you angry?”

    Xu Yan nodded.

The butler, having watched Xu Yan grow up, naturally doted on him, “Did he not want to work? Although it was Mr. Xu who kept him, you are his benefactor.”

Grandmother, “Your father might have said something to him, but it’s okay. Sweetie, if you don’t like him, we’ll fire him and find another bodyguard. Don’t be afraid of your father. If he asks, we’ll say it was my arrangement.”

The butler agreed, “Yes, I’ll find someone to handle it right away and keep it from Mr. Xu.”

The two discussed it in front of Xu Yan, and the butler immediately went to fire Wen Sinian. Unexpectedly, Xu Yan suddenly stood up, knocking over his chopsticks, and hurriedly grabbed the butler, “Wait, wait, why are you in such a hurry? I didn’t say I wanted to fire him.”

The butler was confused, “Didn’t you say you didn’t like him?”

Xu Yan denied it, “I didn’t.”

The butler and grandmother exchanged a glance, and the grandmother asked again, “Sweetie, you’ve grown up. You can make your own decisions. Do you want to keep him by your side?”

Xu Yan didn’t hesitate to nod vigorously.

Seeing this, the grandmother didn’t say anything more, only advising Xu Yan not to hit people next time he got angry. They could fire the person then; it wouldn’t be too late.

Although he had managed to keep Wen Sinian, Xu Yan was still angry as usual. For several days, he didn’t have a good face for Wen Sinian, didn’t talk to him, and didn’t even look at him properly.

Wen Sinian didn’t mind at all. He had a strong awareness of how to be a dog for his master and revolved around Xu Yan at home, offering his services.

Xu Yan didn’t need any housekeepers around him; Wen Sinian alone could handle everything.

In the morning, he knocked on his door to wake him up. During meals, he sat beside him, serving him food. When he went out to study or play, Wen Sinian carried his bag. When he bought milk tea, Wen Sinian would first insert the straw for him and bring it to his lips.

Xu Yan didn’t tell him in advance what he wanted to drink. If it suited his taste, he would drink more; if not, he would take a sip and refuse to drink more. The rest would all end up in Wen Sinian’s stomach.

Wen Sinian didn’t particularly like milk tea; it was too sweet and greasy. But the straw had been bitten by the young master, and holding it in his mouth felt like drinking through the young master’s lips.

With only a week left until the exam, the school’s management was quite relaxed. Teachers didn’t say much to students with good grades even if they didn’t go to school. Xu Yan made an appointment with Shang Jia and Shen Nanli to study together at a café outside.

Seeing how Wen Sinian attended to Xu Yan, the others were astonished.

Taking advantage of Wen Sinian going to buy the small cakes Xu Yan liked, the three of them studied for a while and then huddled together to chat.

Shang Jia asked, “He wasn’t this excessive at my place before. Have you made any substantial progress recently?”

    Xu Yan, “What substantial progress?”

Shang Jia had a “I know, don’t hide it from me” expression, “Things that men do together. Didn’t the teacher say that our recent study pressure is high, and we can find some relaxing ways, like doing some exercise? Haven’t you done any two-person exercises?”

Xu Yan really didn’t understand, “What are you talking about?”

Shang Jia looked at Shen Nanli, “I’m a girl, I can’t say it. Nanli, you ask.”

“Okay,” Shen Nanli opened his mouth and was stunned for a moment, then looked at Shang Jia, “What do you want me to ask?”

Shang Jia slammed their heads together: “You idiots! I can’t believe you!” What’s the use of being good at studying if you’re still so clueless?

Shang Jia didn’t mince her words: “Listen, the way you and your bodyguard look at each other, you’re not just some ordinary master and servant, okay? Have you noticed how he looks at you? His eyes are practically glued to you, like he’s about to drop them into your lap. He’s head over heels for you, and you don’t even notice? What bodyguard would stick around like a lovesick puppy while you give him the cold shoulder? If you slapped him a few times, I bet he’d praise you for it, ask if your hand hurts, and then blow on it for you. I’ve never seen someone so devoted.”

Her words left Xu Yan and Shen Nanli stunned, especially Xu Yan, whose cheeks flushed hot.

How did she know he’d slapped Wen Sinian before… and that Wen had even licked his hand after?

Shang Jia wasn’t done. She leaned in: “And you, Xu Yan, don’t you think something’s off with you too? You’re usually so sweet and gentle, never raising your voice at me or Nanli. But with your bodyguard? You’re downright terrible to him, like some cruel master. I bet you’d make him strip and whip him with a riding crop at home!”

Xu Yan’s mind conjured up the image, and he shook his head violently to banish the thought.

Just then, Wen Sinian walked in carrying several boxes of small cakes. Xu Yan shot desperate glances at the others, silently begging them to stop talking nonsense.

Wen Sinian placed the cakes on the table, opened each box, and carefully cut a slice of Xu Yan’s favorite flavor with a fork. He placed it gently in front of him. “Have a bite first. The ice cream will melt soon.”

He forked a small piece and held it up to Xu Yan’s lips, waiting for him to open his mouth.

Shang Jia, watching from across the table, nearly pinched her own arm off in shock. She grabbed Shen Nanli’s arm and clapped a hand over his mouth to stop him from gasping.

Why cut the cake when you could just feed it to him directly with your mouth?

Xu Yan, flustered, stubbornly refused: “I’m not eating.”

Wen Sinian noticed a bit of cream on Xu Yan’s lip. He reached out and gently wiped it away with his thumb.

Shang Jia let out a muffled scream.

Xu Yan slapped Wen Sinian’s hand away, glaring at him.

Wen Sinian looked up at the others across the table.

Shang Jia suddenly realized the situation and blurted out: “Oh! I almost forgot, Shen Nanli and I have something to do! We’ll leave now, no need to see us out! Bye!”

With that, she and Shen Nanli vanished out the door.

Wen Sinian sat down beside Xu Yan and pushed the cake closer. His voice was low and tempting: “You really won’t eat? It’s your favorite flavor.”

Xu Yan hesitated, but when Wen Sinian tried to feed him again, he realized how spoiled he was acting, like a child who couldn’t even feed himself. Snatching the fork, he angrily stuffed a piece into his mouth.

“I’ll eat it myself. I don’t need you to feed me.”

Wen Sinian watched him, a soft smile playing on his lips. “Good. Eat slowly.”

Xu Yan ate several pieces in a row. Wen Sinian handed him a napkin to wipe his mouth, but Xu Yan flinched away as if burned.

He glanced around before leaning in and whispering: “Don’t act like this in public.”

Wen Sinian moved closer, his gaze intense. “Like what?”

Xu Yan avoided his eyes. That look was always so scorching, like a fire that could burn right through him.

“Don’t get so close to me. Keep your distance. And stop looking at me like that.”

    Wen Sinian agreed without hesitation.

He only said not to do it in public, nothing about at home.

After finishing the cake, Wen Sinian walked Xu Yan home. Xu Yan went upstairs to his room to study. He wasn’t hungry, so he only ate a little before returning to his homework. The practice test had a few particularly difficult problems, and he spent so long on them that when he finally looked up, it was past midnight.

He couldn’t sleep until he solved them. After hesitating, he pulled out his phone and sent a message:

    [Little Master]: Are you asleep?

    The reply came almost instantly.

    [Bad Guy]: No.

[Little Master]: I have a few problems I can’t solve. Come help me.

    [Bad Guy]: Where?

[Little Master]: My room. Hurry up.

[Little Master]: Be quiet. Don’t wake anyone.

After sending the message, Xu Yan rested his chin on his hand, absentmindedly poking at his draft paper with a pen as he waited.

The bodyguard’s room was on a lower floor, so it would take a while to reach his room. But before a minute had passed, he heard a faint knock at the door.

Too lazy to get up, he called out softly from where he lay: “Come in. It’s unlocked.”

    One door stood between them.

Wen Sinian stood in the darkness, forcing down the wild, reckless thoughts threatening to surface. He reached out and pushed the door open.

A sweet, intoxicating scent filled the room, wrapping around him as the door swung wide. He took a deep breath, filling his lungs with it.

    Slowly, he stepped inside.
