Read And Be Lazy
    Chapter Index

The others were still chatting animatedly. But Xu Yan sat there, waiting, bracing for when Wen Sinian would inevitably say something.

    But nothing came.

Had he been fast enough? Did Wen Sinian not realize that was his phone?

    Maybe… just maybe.

Xu Yan started to relax, his sense of imminent doom slowly receding. He even dared to sneak a tiny glance at Wen Sinian, who was calmly looking at his own phone, seemingly none the wiser.

Xu Yan took a huge gulp of juice, his whole body loosening from the tension.

A little while later, Wen Sinian stood up and walked up the spiral staircase with his phone.

    The pressure vanished.

Xiao Xu scooted over to chat with Xu Yan.

They had only exchanged a few lines when Xu Yan’s phone started vibrating again.

He quickly took it out to check.

    Same virtual number.

Whoever it was, Xu Yan didn’t answer.

But the next second, a message popped up on his WeChat alt account.

His eyes widened in shock. A chill ran down his spine.

    Two short words.

And his legs nearly gave out.

    【year】:Come up.

    ***

Thirty minutes later, Xu Yan finally mustered enough courage, found an excuse, and snuck away to climb the stairs.

The corridor above was dark, eerily quiet.

He had no idea which room was Wen Sinian’s. He stood at the top of the stairs, calves trembling. Maybe he should just bolt and leave right now.

Wen Sinian had used his “year” account to message him… He must’ve seen him using that phone. Must’ve realized he was “Yanyan.”

He’d thought he could hide it until they broke up. Who knew he’d get exposed right at the end?

    Another message.

    【year】:End of the hall.

    【year】:Black door.

    No point pretending anymore.

Xu Yan walked over and stood in front of the door.

He raised his hand and, barely making a sound, knocked softly.

His voice was light. “It’s… me.”

The door opened from inside. Only the bedside lamp was on, casting a dim glow.

A tall figure loomed in the doorway, dark and imposing like a beast ready to devour him.

Xu Yan hadn’t expected him to be wearing a bathrobe. It was loosely tied at the waist, chest exposed, collarbones sharp like blades, a broad muscular torso glistening. His hair was wet.

    He’d clearly just showered.

As a rush of hot air engulfed the room, a slender figure was enveloped.

Xu Yan felt the scorching heat, not just from the imposing body in front of him, but also from the intense gaze above. Instinct told him he shouldn’t have entered this room, but it was too late. A firm grip seized his wrist, gently pulling him through the black door.

The door slowly closed, shutting out the laughter and noise from downstairs.

Xu Yan was pressed against the wall, his mind still wandering.

The room’s soundproofing was surprisingly good. It suddenly became very quiet, with only the steady breathing close to his neck, almost spraying on it.

Xu Yan tiptoed, trying to press himself more tightly against the wall behind him, but he was still much shorter than the dark figure in front of him.

Wen Sinian stared at him closely, slightly bending down, with both arms propped up on either side of him, completely trapping him, making sure he couldn’t escape.

Xu Yan didn’t even dare to breathe heavily. If he inhaled too much, he could smell the faint fragrance emanating from Wen Sinian.

He instinctively felt it was toxic, afraid of being intoxicated.

Wen Sinian looked at him with a deep and profound gaze for a while without speaking. Xu Yan felt a chill on his body, as if his clothes were about to be stripped off by that gaze.

Xu Yan felt that it was wrong for him to pretend to be in an online relationship with Wen Sinian under a false identity. Moreover, he had given too much money to “Yanyan,” which must have been out of genuine affection.

But he didn’t know that the person on the other side was himself. If he had known it was him, he wouldn’t have fallen in love.

Now it could be considered timely damage control.

No need to pretend anymore, Xu Yan also felt a sense of relief deep in his heart. He recalled the speech he had prepared downstairs and tried to use a pitiful and lovable tone, “Actually, I wanted to tell you a long time ago, but I was afraid you would be angry, so I never dared to. I only found out later that ‘year’ was you. At first, I didn’t know either. I didn’t want it to turn out like this…”

Wen Sinian could hear that his voice was different from usual. He was deliberately putting on a weak and wronged demeanor, presenting himself in front of him, seeking forgiveness, sympathy, and pity.

    Indeed, they hadn’t met yet.

But did he really know that this appearance made people want to bully him, to make him cry in this voice by his ear?

Wen Sinian waited for him to finish his trembling explanation before slowly tightening his arms on either side of his body until his inner forearm lightly pressed against his waist.

Lowering his head to look closely, it was less than a palm’s width.

    Too small.

Xu Yan thought he was going to choke him. Frightened, he pushed against his arms with both hands and twisted slightly, only to hear a gasp.

Xu Yan thought he had angered him again and didn’t dare to move.

This time it was truly pitiful and wronged. His red lips were slightly pursed, and the corners of his eyes were hooked upwards, looking coquettish.

“If you want to hit me to vent your anger, then hit me…” Xu Yan sniffed, “But can you please not hit my face? Otherwise, when Nan Li and the others see it later, there will be no way to explain. If you feel better, can we keep our matters between us?”

Xu Yan asked pitifully, “That is, I don’t want them to know that I wear skirts and take those kinds of photos…”

Seeing that Wen Sinian didn’t speak, Xu Yan’s heart was in his throat, afraid that he would disagree. He placed his hand on his forearm and shook it softly.

    “Is that okay…?”

“Who else has seen those kinds of photos of you?” Wen Sinian finally asked.

Xu Yan shook his head, “No one else, only you, really.”

Wen Sinian asked again, “If it hadn’t been exposed today, when were you planning to tell me?”

Xu Yan hung his head, looking particularly guilty.

Wen Sinian lifted his face and looked into his watery eyes, “Honestly, were you planning to hide it from me forever?”

Xu Yan silently bit his lip. He had indeed thought so.

Wen Sinian’s tone was hurt, “So even after knowing it was me, you still wanted to break up with me. Is it because you can’t stand ‘year,’ or because you can’t stand me?”

“It’s neither…” Xu Yan weakly denied.

Wen Sinian twitched the corner of his mouth, “It’s a pity that we haven’t broken up yet, and I’ve already found out. What should we do?”

Xu Yan replied in a good temper, “It’s still up to you. You can do whatever you want, as long as you promise not to tell anyone.”

“Okay,” Wen Sinian didn’t hesitate, “Just this one condition, I agree.”

Xu Yan didn’t expect him to sound like he wasn’t very angry and to agree so readily, “Just this one.”

“It’s my turn to make a request?”

    “Mmm, it’s your turn.”

Wen Sinian tightened his arms, almost lifting the person closer.

Xu Yan’s toes could barely touch the ground, and his body suddenly became weightless, making him feel very insecure. Moreover, his waist was a bit sore from the pressure.

A drop of water fell from Wen Sinian’s damp silk.

With a “drip,” it fell onto Xu Yan’s cheek.

He tilted his face up, feeling the drop of water slide down his cheek and neck as if it had grown legs, burying itself into his chest and abdomen.

Then he heard Wen Sinian’s calm and composed voice, “My condition is for you to be my boyfriend and continue dating me.”

Xu Yan was surprised and slightly parted his lips, looking at him foolishly, “You, what are you…”

Wen Sinian took it for granted, “Yanyan is my boyfriend, and now you are Yanyan. I like you. I liked you when I hadn’t met you, and I like you even more after meeting you. Didn’t you feel it when we met at the cinema last time?”

It would have been fine if he hadn’t mentioned it, but as soon as he brought up the cinema, Xu Yan’s cheeks burned.

And the culprit of this crime actually had the nerve to ask. His mouth and tongue were sore and swollen for several days after returning, and it took a long time to recover.

He only felt that Wen Sinian was very fierce towards him, as if he wanted to devour him.

“You felt it, didn’t you?” Wen Sinian hugged him tightly, “You are my first love, and you have caused me such a psychological shadow. I may never recover from it in my lifetime. Shouldn’t you give me some compensation?”

Xu Yan was dizzy from being pressed against his muscles, and a few gasps escaped from his chest. He struggled a few times with his limbs but couldn’t break free. He seemed to compromise, “Ah… what, compensation…”

Wen Sinian carried him towards the bed as he spoke, “You are not allowed to mention breaking up again, otherwise, I can’t guarantee what I will do.”

Xu Yan was even more dizzy from being shaken, and then his body was lightened and placed on the big bed.

Wen Sinian held his ankle, his long and powerful knuckles easily leaving a red mark on the fair skin.

He said, “There is one more thing that needs to be confirmed.”

Xu Yan shrank his foot but couldn’t pull it back. He sat up on the bed with both hands, watching the tall and muscular man kneel down in front of him.

This scene was strangely familiar, reminding Xu Yan of a sweet dream he had a long time ago.

In the dream, the muscular male servant was considerately massaging him, not holding his feet to prevent him from moving, and lifting his trouser legs with the other hand.

Xu Yan was flustered and lowered his eyes, seeing the gaze with which Wen Sinian looked up at him.

In those eyes, there was a strong desire, longing, full of dark possessiveness, and an unmasked sense of aggression.

    “Let me see that mole.”
