Crossdress Ch28
by 707Wasn’t this… a little too much of a coincidence?
Year hadn’t replied yet, but Xu Yan’s mind was in chaos. A terrifying thought kept circling in his head.
If he really thought back carefully, this wasn’t the first time he’d run into strange coincidences.
The few days Year “disappeared for work,” Wen Sinian just so happened to be overseas for a competition.
Wen Sinian had brought him cake and chocolates, and Year sent the exact same kind right after.
Both of their phones broke at the same time.
And then there were the weird timing overlaps between when he ran into Wen Sinian… and when he was chatting with Year…
Xu Yan shook his head hard, trying to kick that terrifying idea out of his brain.
He didn’t want to believe it—more like, he didn’t dare to. So he tried coming up with other explanations to comfort himself.
No way.
Absolutely no way that’s possible.
If he told Shang Jia and Shen Nanli about this thought, they’d definitely laugh at how wild his imagination was.
Senior Wen was quiet and cold, and although he treated Xu Yan well, he was absolutely not the approachable type. Their first meeting wasn’t even pleasant.
But Year was warm and sweet, endlessly patient and indulgent—he seemed like he wanted to keep an eye on Xu Yan 24/7, even through a screen.
Plus Year was clingy, controlling, petty, and got jealous way too easily…
And… and he had all those weird little fetishes.
Just imagining that the person he’d been exchanging photos and videos with was actually Wen Sinian—Xu Yan felt like lightning had struck him from head to toe.
Senior Wen would never be that kind of person. He wouldn’t say those kinds of dirty things, and he definitely wouldn’t engage in some shady online relationship. Especially not if he knew the person on the other end was a boy who liked wearing skirts.
Senior Wen… he was probably homophobic.
It must’ve just been a coincidence that a message popped up on his phone right as Xu Yan sent one. He probably had tons of friends on WeChat. Having a constantly lit-up screen wasn’t strange at all.
Xu Yan tried to calm himself down, but his face still got worse and worse. He didn’t dare look at Wen Sinian’s phone again. He closed the laptop, hugged it to his chest, and wobbled back to the couch—his steps even a bit unsteady.
Zheng Yao was still fixing his computer. Xu Yan stared blankly into space, eyes unfocused.
A few minutes later, Zheng Yao came over with the laptop.
“I gave it a quick fix. Try it and see if it works.”
Xu Yan took it, reacting a bit slow: “Thanks.”
He booted it up mechanically and tested it.
Strangely enough, not only did it work—it ran smoother than his original setup ever had.
“How much should I pay you?” Xu Yan asked.
Zheng Yao hesitated. He had no idea what price would make sense. “Uh… why don’t you ask Wen-Ge later?”
Yeah, best to stay quiet. The more you say, the more you risk slipping.
Xu Yan nodded. Then something seemed to occur to him, and he asked, “Senior, do you know how to find someone’s real IP address online?”
Zheng Yao replied, “Sure, that’s easy. Who do you want to trace?”
Xu Yan showed him Year’s app data. “Can this kind be traced?”
Zheng Yao said, “Doesn’t it already say he’s in Haishi? Why do you still want to check?”
Xu Yan replied, “I just want to know if that location is real… or if it’s been spoofed.”
Zheng Yao took his phone. “No problem. I’ll take a look.”
They walked over to the computer. As he worked, Zheng Yao casually asked, “So who is this guy? Why are you trying to check if he’s really in Haishi?”
Xu Yan paused. He couldn’t exactly say it was his online boyfriend—especially now that he suspected it might be Wen Sinian.
That was way too ridiculous.
Zheng Yao added, “Eh, forget it. I won’t ask. Anyway, I checked—looks like it’s legit.”
Xu Yan let out a huge sigh of relief and mumbled, “That’s good… scared me half to death.”
But then Zheng Yao continued, “That said, I’m not some super hacker or anything. I just checked it using a few standard methods. If this guy has any high-level ways of hiding his IP, I probably wouldn’t catch it.”
Xu Yan’s heart, which had just settled, jumped again. “What do you mean?”
Zheng Yao reassured him: “That kind of situation is basically impossible. You can ignore it. I was just being thorough. You can take the Haishi location as real, don’t stress.”
Xu Yan finally understood and retrieved his phone, expression much more relaxed. “Alright. Thanks, senior.”
He knew it had to be impossible.
Just then, Wen Sinian came downstairs. He had changed clothes, and his slightly damp hair still held a trace of moisture.
Zheng Yao saw him and quickly said, “Wen-Ge! Xu Yan’s computer is all fixed. Want to check it?”
Wen Sinian looked over and asked Xu Yan, “Is it working?”
Xu Yan thought of how he had just been secretly doubting him, and felt a bit ashamed. He averted his eyes and replied, “It’s working great. But I haven’t paid for the repair yet—how much is it?”
Business is business. He wasn’t the type to take advantage of others.
Zheng Yao was desperately signaling Wen Sinian, trying to say he hadn’t spilled the beans. Wen Sinian finally gave him a look, then said, “Two hundred.”
Zheng Yao’s jaw dropped. “???”
Twenty thousand down to two hundred? That’s one hell of a markdown.
Xu Yan nodded. “Alright.”
That was much cheaper than he expected. He held up his phone. “Where do I scan?”
Wen Sinian patted his pocket but didn’t find his phone.
“It’s over there,” Xu Yan said, pointing toward the counter by the fridge. He also kindly added, “I think you had a notification earlier.”
Zheng Yao ran over to grab the phone like a loyal lackey and whispered, “Wen-Ge, isn’t this a bit…”
Too much of a loss?
Wen Sinian ignored him, took the phone, didn’t even check the messages, and just pulled up a QR code.
Xu Yan obediently reached out to scan.
Beep—the screen popped up with a new WeChat message.
He looked up. “That’s not a payment code.”
“Mm,” Wen Sinian replied as he put away his phone. “Add me.”
Xu Yan: “Oh.”
He hadn’t realized it, but despite being roommates all this time, they had only just now added each other.
He clicked “Add to Contacts,” and Wen Sinian accepted immediately—just as expected. It was the same account Li Huaiche had shown him before.
“You only have this one WeChat account?” Xu Yan asked.
Wen Sinian’s lips seemed to quirk up slightly. He looked at him and said, “How many do you want to add?”
…Guess that meant he only had one.
Xu Yan felt most of his suspicions fade, and muttered in a relieved voice, “Just one is fine. I was just asking.”
As he spoke, he transferred the 200 yuan to him.
“I’ve transferred it,” Xu Yan said.
Wen Sinian looked at his phone and replied, “Forget it.”
Zheng Yao, who had been standing off to the side: “…”
Then why ask for money and add him on WeChat in the first place?
Xu Yan quickly said, “You should still take it. If I took it outside to fix, it’d probably cost even more.”
He trusted that Wen Sinian wouldn’t overcharge him—or scam him.
But Wen Sinian just stared at him. Seeing Xu Yan’s earnest expression, he finally said, “Then make me a cup of coffee.”
“Coffee?” Xu Yan asked.
“As thanks,” Wen Sinian replied.
How much could a cup of coffee be worth? Xu Yan thought to himself—he’d basically just made a huge profit.
There was instant coffee in the kitchen, and some disposable cups too.
Xu Yan simply made a cup for everyone in the studio. He was quite practiced at it—put them on a tray and delivered them one by one, earning thanks from each member.
He went upstairs but didn’t want to bother Lin Xingxian, so he spent some extra time mixing a custom cup for Wen Sinian using a few types of instant coffee. The flavor should be close to the milk tea-espresso blend—he remembered that was the one Wen Sinian had treated him to before.
He quietly placed the cup in front of Wen Sinian and gently pushed it toward him, a little expectant. “Try it—see if it’s any good?”
Wen Sinian sat at the desk and took a sip.
“Mm.”
“It’s good, right?” Xu Yan’s eyes lit up happily, and he explained his “recipe”: “It’s just from those packets—first you add this… then this… and finally a little tea. At the end…”
Wen Sinian’s gaze drifted beyond the screen to those slightly damp pink lips.
So close. Opening and closing gently.
Such a beautiful shape, like a juicy, tender peach. Glossy and plump.
They looked very kissable.
Xu Yan finished explaining and realized Wen Sinian hadn’t responded. He just sat there, sipping the iced coffee while keeping his eyes fixed on him.
Maybe he talked too much? Occupational habit, maybe. Most people probably didn’t care about coffee ratios.
“I won’t bother you anymore—you can get back to work,” Xu Yan said, then returned to the sofa with his “new computer” to keep editing.
The sky gradually darkened. Xu Yan finished his assignments and submitted them. Only then did Lin Xingxian come downstairs.
He had finally completed the main body of his painting. Thanks to Xu Yan’s modeling help, the anatomy part was nearly done—just some detail work left.
The studio team congratulated him, and they decided to go out for a celebratory dinner.
Xu Yan figured his task was complete and planned to head back to school.
But Lin Xingxian insisted—said Xu Yan was the biggest contributor today, and there was no way he was letting him go hungry. So he dragged him along.
When they got to the private dining room, Lin Xingxian directly placed Xu Yan between himself and Wen Sinian.
It was a sensible arrangement—Xu Yan didn’t know the others well.
But Xu Yan felt awkward and fidgety. Every time he remembered how he almost mistook Wen Sinian for Year, he felt horribly guilty.
Yet Wen Sinian was very considerate of him as a roommate and junior—passing him water, handing him tissues, serving him soup. He even quietly moved away the dishes Xu Yan didn’t like.
Xu Yan reminded himself not to overthink things. He didn’t even dare glance to his side.
But maybe the private room was too small—they were sitting very close.
Whenever that fair, refined hand reached into his space, his brain would instantly recall the photos Year had sent him. The reflection of a hand against a car window at night—just as attractive.
When he accidentally glanced sideways, he could see the outline of strong muscle beneath Wen Sinian’s clothes—he often boxed and worked out. His body was in great shape, just like Year’s. If he also had a broad chest and wore a chest chain…
!
Xu Yan secretly pinched his thigh, realizing he’d been daydreaming again. His ears flushed hot—he wanted to dive under the table and disappear.
He touched his face—it felt feverish. Was he blushing?
He pressed his cold juice to his cheek to try and cool down.
Wen Sinian noticed and asked, “Are you hot?”
Xu Yan, covering his face, shook his head. “I’m okay.”
Wen Sinian leaned in slightly, like he was trying to see the faint blush beneath his fair skin. “Why’s your face red?”
Xu Yan’s eyes widened. Was his face red?
He’d always been thin-skinned. Blushing so easily was a real pain.
He quickly changed his answer: “Y-Yeah, it’s the heat.”
Just then, Wen Sinian got a message. He didn’t press further and looked down to reply on his phone.
Xu Yan gulped down a big sip of iced juice to cool off, then glanced at his own phone.
[Year]: I need to fatten up baby a little more.
[Year]: Once you’re chubby, I’ll eat you up.
Xu Yan sneaked a look at Wen Sinian. After checking his phone, the man had locked the screen again and casually placed it between them.
Feeling slightly bolder, Xu Yan replied:
[Yanyan]: I hate you.
After sending it, he stared hard at the quiet phone beside him.
One second. Two seconds.
The black screen stayed black.
Xu Yan squinted happily and began to eat in big bites.
See? He knew it couldn’t be.
Crisis averted.
The others were still chatting. The conversation shifted to dating—since the computer science department had way more guys than girls, most of them were still single.
Zheng Yao, sitting across the table, called out to him: “Hey, Xu Yan. Are you seeing anyone?”
A few pairs of eyes turned toward him. Xu Yan hurried to swallow his food and shyly confessed, “Y-Yeah…”
Anyway, he’d already said so to Zhou Zhengyi. The athletic department crew probably knew by now. No reason to hide it.
He didn’t clarify further—like that it was a boyfriend.
The person beside him also looked over. Xu Yan could vaguely feel the oppressive air between them suddenly relax.
Wen Sinian seemed to be in a good mood—he even opened Xu Yan’s juice and poured it into his cup.
The others didn’t push. They quickly moved on to other topics.
Xu Yan figured the dating talk was over—he turned his head with the drink in hand… only to find Wen Sinian still looking at him.
“Who is it?” Wen Sinian asked, with a faint smile, his tone not even the least bit nosy.
“Do I know them?”
The boyfriend is just beside you Xu Yan. WS is such a tease omg
