Chapter Index

It felt eerily similar to the moment they’d left the movie theater that night.

Jiang Tian had no idea when exactly the kiss had ended.

By the time he came back to his senses, his lips were hot, flushed, and tingling with an odd, lingering buzz—like they’d been held for a long, long time.

Chu Xuyu was still watching him closely, one arm loosely wrapped around his waist.

Then—click.

A tiny snap echoed through the dressing room: the dog tail had been clipped into place.

“……”

That sound was lethal.

Jiang Tian’s entire face burned like it was trapped inside a steam box.

His gaze darted everywhere except at Chu Xuyu. He couldn’t even form a coherent sentence.

This man was playing unfairly.

First asking if it was his first kiss, then calling him “baby.”

“Why aren’t you answering?”

Chu Xuyu’s breath was still uneven, but his voice was low, soaked with something dangerously fond.

“You’ve kissed someone else before?”

Jiang Tian shook his head immediately.

“No.”

Chu Xuyu’s lips curled into a smug smile.

“Then that was your first kiss. And you gave it to me.”

“…”

Jiang Tian turned to face the mirror, pretending to adjust his costume, but—Chu Xuyu’s hand brushed his tail again.

And then, just like that, the man slid one hand into his pocket and sauntered out the door.

Leaving Jiang Tian stunned and overheated.

Honestly, if this wasn’t harassment, what was?

Was this karma for scamming him online?

To be fair, it was a good first kiss—but Chu Xuyu’s overbearing and wicked style?

Exactly like that feral older brother character from the cosplay series they were impersonating.

He acted like he had done this countless times before.

Which made it worse.

Yet Jiang Tian, with his absurdly good temperament, quietly adjusted his outfit, fixed his headband ears, and walked out to meet Chu Xuyu like nothing had happened.

Forgiving his President-gege once again.

With the help of staff, they both put on large mascot-style headpieces that concealed most of their faces, only leaving their eyes visible.

Even so, the resemblance to the characters they were cosplaying was uncanny.

Jiang Tian’s delicate double eyelids and warm amber-toned eyes gave him a clean, youthful air—absolutely perfect for a puppy-like younger brother role.

Chu Xuyu, on the other hand, had long, sharp eyes and an aristocratic coldness. When narrowed, his gaze held the weight of a predator eyeing its prey.

“……!!!”

The event staff were internally screaming.

They’d just struck cosplay gold.

Before going onstage, the staff explained the event format.

Despite never participating in this kind of thing, the two men picked it up easily—smart people, after all.

As character performers, they weren’t allowed to act out of character.

No matter what happened, they had to stay true to the puppy little brother x feral older brother dynamic.

The event had three segments:

  1. Stage Interaction Game – led by the host, acting out mini couple games. No talking allowed, only gestures and expressions. Pure fan service sugar.

  2. Dance Segment – a warm-up dance to trending songs, like girl group choreo or gesture dances. Not about precision—just to go viral.

  3. Fan Meet + Lucky Draw – selected fans come on stage to take photos. If any fan tries to push a “solo-only” shot (ignoring the pairing), staff would intervene immediately. This was a CP pairing-focused fandom, after all.

Jiang Tian understood most of it—except for one thing.

He was completely unaware of the fierce battle lines between hardcore “solo stans” of the two characters.

Then the event began.

Chu Xuyu and Jiang Tian emerged from opposite wings of the stage—one in aloof predator mode, the other in fluffy puppy energy.

The fans?

Lost. Their. MINDS.

“BABY PUPPY!!! AHHHH!!!”

 “I’d DIE for him!!”

“WOLF-GE IS SO HOT—LOOK AT THAT JAWLINE!”

 “LOCK THE COUPLE DOWN—RIGHT NOW!”

“WAIT… they’ve never looked this hot before???”

“IS THIS REAL LIFE?! D—DOI ON STAGE!!!”

Jiang Tian tried to focus on the job.

But the screaming was otherworldly. He hadn’t even moved yet. Just standing there breathing caused waves of shrieking.

Was this normal?! Was this safe?!

He was barely keeping it together.

Then came the “couple game” segment—and the reaction blew the roof off.

“HE TOUCHED HIS EARS!!”

“PINCH THE TAIL! PINCH THE TAIL!”

 “PLEASE KISS! JUST ONE KISS!”

“MAKE OUT RIGHT NOW—EAT HIS FACE!”

The game wasn’t even that suggestive.

It was just two fuzzy animal mascots being affectionate.

But as Chu Xuyu reached out and playfully tugged Jiang Tian’s tail—

Jiang Tian’s body jolted.

He remembered the dressing room.

The kiss. The heat.

The tail.

“?!!?!”

“OH MY GOD!!!”

“He’s trembling!! Ge is so good at this!!”

“SQUEEZE HIM DRY!!! DON’T LEAVE A DROP!!”

 “BEST MONEY I’VE EVER SPENT!!”

Trapped under the glare of every spotlight, in the middle of this sea of chaos—Jiang Tian’s face flushed bright red.

His eyes darted up to Chu Xuyu, practically begging for rescue.

Chu Xuyu caught the look immediately.

And then—like the reliable older boyfriend he was now fully roleplaying—he lifted his hand and rubbed Jiang Tian’s head. Gently. Comfortingly.

A hush fell over the crowd.

“He’s… petting him…?”

“SO SOFT!!”

“Strong seme x soft baby uke!!”

“THIS IS PURE LOVE.”

Jiang Tian: Wait, was this plot supposed to be forced love?! How did we turn into a comfort ship?!

His thoughts were a mess.

But Chu Xuyu’s hand was warm, steady. Anchoring.

Their eyes met—stage lights glaring, crowd screaming—and suddenly, it was like nothing else existed.

Just the sound of each other’s breathing.

In Chu Xuyu’s eyes, the wild, teasing gleam was gone.

What remained… was something heavier.

 Softer.

A wave of emotion that had no stage direction—just real, unspoken intimacy.

It wasn’t cosplay anymore.

It wasn’t pretend.

“……”

Jiang Tian froze, unable to even hear the host’s voice. It wasn’t until Chu Xuyu stepped forward and pulled him into an embrace that he realized the interaction game had ended.

“Why are you spacing out like that?”

Chu Xuyu’s voice was low and husky, brushing his ear. His hug tightened. “Don’t want to hug me back?”

Jiang Tian snapped out of it. “N-No, that’s not it.”

He slowly raised his arms and wrapped them around Chu Xuyu’s firm back, completing a warm hug that filled the entire audience with sweetness—

Our CP really loves each other!

After half an hour, the interaction game ended and transitioned into the dance segment, where the host guided the flow.

The two stood on stage, following the host’s rhythm. A huge screen at the front of the venue played videos in real time of the dances they had to follow.

Jiang Tian, though untrained in dance, had a naturally athletic body and believed he could keep up. With a cheat sheet playing above, there was no way he’d freeze like a stiff board on stage.

The first dance was “Gokuraku Jodo.”

Jiang Tian, upon hearing the intro: “?????”

How the hell am I supposed to dance to this?!

The crowd below burst into laughter, seeing the little puppy brother’s confused reaction. They praised the cosplayer’s dedication: “Our baby being dumbstruck is this cute?!”

As for the wolf-ge next to him… let’s just say—yep, a literal steel beam in human form. It’s okay if he can’t dance.

The second dance was a simplified version of “Love Emergency.”

Such a sweet and cute love song!

The couple’s compatibility was off the charts!

Just watching them was a treat for the eyes—especially with puppy bro earnestly guiding his older bro, encouraging him while dancing. Shipping this CP is as natural as breathing!

The final dance was a viral couple choreography on short video platforms—

“Compared to xx, I like you more! Anata~!”

Chu Xuyu, who usually didn’t think he was old, had given up resisting at this point. He resigned himself to participating.
