FSGOR Ch2
by 707Jiang Tian slept straight through to noon. When he finally woke up, groggy and fumbling for his phone, he saw that the scumbag hadn’t replied.
His sister had already left for work. On the screen were a couple of early morning messages from her:
Jiang Jing: Di, I’m going on a business trip the day after tomorrow. I’ll stay at your Cousin Lu’s place tonight.
Jiang Jing: About last night—I knew what I was doing. Take care of yourself. I’ll bring you a gift when I get back from the U.S.
Rubbing his eyes, Jiang Tian hadn’t even replied yet when the doorbell rang. He quickly slipped on his slippers and rushed to open the door.
Outside stood Lu Qiao in a baseball cap, looking like he was ready to punch a hole through the earth. “Tian-ge!”
“I woke up and the sky was falling!”
“How could Jing-jie end up with that kind of scumbag?!”
Jiang Tian pressed his lips together, then let Lu Qiao inside, his hand at his side clenched tightly. “My sister already told your sister?”
“Yeah.”
As Lu Qiao changed into indoor slippers, he fumed while offering a terrible idea, “Why don’t we skip training this afternoon, go to that damn gay guy’s office, and beat him up right now?”
Their friendship was so solid that their sisters were basically soulmates. Seeing Lu Qiao turn into a rabid beagle ready to demolish everything, Jiang Tian surprisingly stayed calm and tried to reason with him.
“Punching won’t solve anything. We need solid evidence before confronting him—or he might turn it around and accuse us instead.”
Jiang Tian’s composure only lasted two seconds. “Even if we do beat him up, we’ll wait until my sister gets back from her trip. It’s not too late to hit him then.”
Lu Qiao scratched his head. “True, true.”
“Anyway…”
“Can I bum a meal off you?”
Kids from modest homes grow up fast. Jiang Tian had long since mastered cooking, and his skills were good enough to make Lu Qiao inhale five bowls of rice in one sitting. Since he was already planning to cook lunch, adding another pair of chopsticks was no big deal.
Thirty minutes later.
The two sat at the table. There were three dishes—one meat, two vegetables—all flavorful and beautifully plated.
Jiang Tian was staring down at his phone. Lu Qiao had just picked up his chopsticks when he glanced over. “Messaging Jing-jie?”
“Mm.”
Jiang Tian exchanged a few words with his sister, reminding her to take care of her health and not to forget her travel documents.
He sighed. “My sister’s phone got smashed. She’s using a backup now. When she gets back from the U.S., she’ll have to recover her chat history.”
Lu Qiao muttered, “That scumbag’s a walking curse. We need to get rid of him so he doesn’t keep jinxing Jing-jie’s luck.”
Jiang Tian gave a muffled “yeah” and then tapped into the chat with the scumbag, pausing at his last two messages. The other party had clearly read them but was deliberately ghosting him.
Could the guy have figured out he was being set up?
Jiang Tian thought it was unlikely. He had just chatted with his sister, and on her end, everything was business as usual. The scumbag even planned to drive her to the airport early in the morning two days from now, still weaving lies with sweet words.
Jiang Tian, not experienced with online relationships, suddenly looked up at Lu Qiao. Remembering that his friend had dabbled in online dating, he asked, “Qiao, I want to ask you for some advice.”
Lu Qiao blinked in disbelief. “Huh? Bro, you’re joking, right? You’re a guaranteed student for Tsinghua or Peking University, and you’re asking me, the dude ranked in the 300s?”
“Not about that.”
Jiang Tian replied coolly, “My sister asked me to pretend to be gay and lure the scumbag out, but I’m not good at flirting.”
“……?!”
Lu Qiao choked on his food, coughing so hard he almost died on rice, eyes wide. “What the hell! Why didn’t you tell me this earlier?!”
“So what’s the situation now?”
Jiang Tian handed him a glass of water and motioned for him to calm down. “The scumbag accepted the friend request.”
Lu Qiao downed the water and eagerly pressed on. “Then what? Did you two chat? Is he falling for it already? Can we beat him up yet?!”
Jiang Tian thought for a moment and handed over his phone, not caring if his best friend saw the awkward messages. “He’s on guard.”
Lu Qiao stared at the screen for a while, then looked back at Jiang Tian’s strikingly handsome face, his puppy eyes wide. “I just… can’t imagine you sending these kinds of texts.”
“……”
Jiang Tian held the glass tightly, knuckles white. “Why do you think he stopped replying?”
Lu Qiao rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “I mean, I’m straight, but I’ve heard a bit about the gay scene. Apparently, they’re really looks-focused.”
“If Jing-jie said he’s a bottom, then you should say you’re a super top—send a couple of gym pics showing off your abs, I swear he’ll be head over heels.”
Jiang Tian nodded. That made sense. He put down his chopsticks, appetite forgotten, and began a strange sort of academic discussion with Lu Qiao.
The two boys started analyzing what made someone a “top-tier gay heartthrob,” and scoured the web for photos—from six-packed gym bros to sun-kissed sporty guys in white socks. All solid, broad-shouldered types who looked like walking refrigerators.
Some of the pictures had a questionable vibe to them—enough to give the two straight high schoolers a minor visual crisis.
“You keep eating.”
Hearing Lu Qiao’s stomach grumble, Jiang Tian got up and headed to the balcony. “I’ll message him again and see if he’s free now.”
“Mm-hmm,” Lu Qiao replied, mouth full. “Don’t be too stiff when you chat. Pretend to care a little. Make the scumbag drop his guard!”
Jiang Tian nodded. His fair, slender fingers hovered over the screen as he carefully crafted his next line, sending a message to “Afternoon Tea.”
KIRA: Good afternoon.
KIRA: Are you off work yet?
Meanwhile, in Ning City’s eastern financial district, countless skyscrapers rose to symbolize the city’s coastal power.
Inside the CEO’s office, Chu Xuyu sat in a tailored suit, exuding top-tier elite vibes. He leaned back in his chair, resting a hand against his temple. The phone on his desk had gone dark.
He was still puzzled. That guy who knew about his sexuality—how did he even find this account? He’d even asked his father, who, sounding genuinely indignant, denied everything. That only made Chu Xuyu more annoyed.
Knock knock—
His secretary entered, perfectly dressed in a suit and subtle makeup, with a professional smile. “President Chu, you asked for me?”
Chu Xuyu lifted his gaze and noticed that his secretary didn’t look well-rested. Faint dark circles under her eyes—nothing like her usual polished self.
In truth, Jiang Jing had been hungover all night, her head splitting with pain, and at that moment, she wished she could personally shred that scumbag to pieces.
The two sat in silence for a while.
Suddenly, Chu Xuyu tapped his fingers lightly on the edge of the desk and said in a low voice, “ I heard you’re considering resigning.”
Jiang Jing froze, her expression briefly flustered. She hadn’t expected word to reach her boss. Despite his usually aloof demeanor, she had worked with him for years and knew he was always considerate toward his staff.
She quickly composed herself. “Yes. The project next week is quite important, so I planned to bring it up after returning from New York.”
“Sorry, President Chu. It’s for personal career planning.”
Chu Xuyu, however, remained mild-mannered. “No need to apologize. You’re very capable. Working with you these past five years has been a pleasure.”
Surprised, Jiang Jing looked up. Her boss had always been generous with compensation but rarely gave direct praise. Hearing this, especially at such a low point in her life, moved her deeply. “Thank you, President Chu.”
“I’ll send my resignation letter when you’re free. I hope I won’t disappoint you in the remaining time.”
Chu Xuyu nodded, respecting her decision. Still, his gaze flicked to her slightly reddened eyes. “If you need any help, feel free to contact me.”
Jiang Jing sincerely thanked him. Having followed this godlike boss since graduation, she considered him a key figure in her life. The decision to resign had been a long, painful struggle.
After the secretary left—
The atmosphere in the CEO office remained heavy. Chu Xuyu picked up his phone again, lowered his eyes, and scoffed coldly.
KIRA: Good afternoon.
KIRA: Are you off work yet?
Chu Xuyu didn’t reply. He tapped into the sender’s cartoon avatar and viewed their Moments—visible only for the past three days. The background was a photo of a soccer player celebrating a goal with two fingers pointed to the sky. The whole vibe reeked of a straight guy pretending to be gay.
Too many people tried to con him out of money. This kind of “I want to scam you” tactic was childish, but precisely because of how bad it was, it intrigued him.
And besides, he genuinely wanted to know how the other person had found his account.
Afternoon Tea: Where did you get my contact?
Chu Xuyu wasn’t in a rush. He coolly stared at the chat window, curious how long the “typing…” status would last.
As expected, the other side started spouting nonsense again—even dragging a gay dating app into the story.
KIRA: I saw you on Blued.
KIRA: We’re both in Ning City, so it should be easy to meet up.
Afternoon Tea: Really.
Afternoon Tea: You’re that eager to meet?
KIRA: Aren’t you?
Afternoon Tea: Not really.
Afternoon Tea: Plenty of people want to meet me.
KIRA: …
Chu Xuyu let out a half-smile. Since the guy wanted to play games, he had no problem playing along.
What he didn’t expect was that at that very moment, the teenager standing on the balcony was staring at his screen, taking deep breaths to calm his emotions. He was so furious that his jawline was visibly clenched, sharp and tense.
The scumbag really was a mess. Since that was the case, Jiang Tian figured he needed to get in line early. His typing became more decisive.
KIRA: I want to cut the line.
KIRA: What type are you into?
Afternoon Tea: Why?
Afternoon Tea: Feeling confident?
KIRA: Yeah.
KIRA: I’ve got a decent body.
Jiang Tian played forward on the school soccer team, a position demanding high levels of stamina and explosiveness. His training was intense, and having sharply defined abs was standard.
At just eighteen, he was in the prime of youth, with lean, well-proportioned muscle that made him stand out even more from those greasy, filtered gym pics.
So no—Jiang Tian wasn’t being delusional. If anything, his words were modest.
Sure enough—
The scumbag’s reaction went exactly as Jiang Tian predicted.
Afternoon Tea: Alright.
Afternoon Tea: Send a photo. Gotta check the goods.
Jiang Tian was just about to open his gallery and send a fake photo when another message popped up.
Afternoon Tea: Send me a fake pic and you’re getting blocked.
“…”
Jiang Tian’s fingers froze. He immediately stopped, worried the message might end up flagged with a red exclamation point.
But he wasn’t someone who liked taking photos. His gallery was full of study screenshots. No way was he about to take a real one now. The thought alone made his skin crawl, but he had no other option.
Afternoon Tea: Still waiting?
KIRA: I don’t have anything saved. Not convenient to take one now. I’ll send it later.
Afternoon Tea: Fine.
Afternoon Tea: How old are you?
Jiang Tian knew that with someone this cautious, one wrong answer could blow the whole setup.
He turned to his “strategist.” Still eating, Lu Qiao thought for a moment and mumbled through a mouthful of rice, “Didn’t your sister say he likes college boys? Just tell him you’re a rich kid from an international school. That’ll be way more exciting than what he’s used to.”
Jiang Tian: “…”
Not bad logic.
He had never done anything so outrageous. Without a plan, he spun a whole persona: a rich, virgin, international school senior who was a top and looking for a thrill.
As expected, the scumbag seemed particularly interested. He even suggested they exchange photos that evening.
Afternoon Tea: Not bad.
Afternoon Tea: Never tried this type before.
Afternoon Tea: I’ve got work this afternoon. Let’s chat around 8 p.m.?
Jiang Tian gripped his phone tightly, his Adam’s apple bobbing, the corner of his lips curling into a subtle smirk—like a clever border collie whose trap was working perfectly.
KIRA: Okay.
KIRA: I’ll be waiting.
