FSGOR Ch72
by 707On the flight from Beijing to New York.
Inside the dimly lit economy cabin, the long journey had most passengers drifting off to sleep.
Only Jiang Tian, seated by the window, sat with an erratic heartbeat, clutching his dead phone in trembling hands.
And this was already him after taking a sedative—his state had been so alarming when he first boarded that he scared the flight attendants.
Throughout the flight, Jiang Tian’s eyes were hollow, like a walking corpse.
Even when a flight attendant gently asked if he needed a drink, he couldn’t respond like a normal person—he didn’t seem to hear anything.
The middle-aged passenger next to him was a doctor. Concerned about this young man’s condition, she asked him a few times, but Jiang Tian only shook his head. His bloodshot eyes and drained posture made it clear he had no strength left in him.
The doctor had seen this kind of reaction before. She silently sighed, recognizing it as a sign of someone trapped in deep grief.
As the plane approached its destination, and the skyline of New York came into view from the air, Jiang Tian had already gone numb. The only thing that kept him moving as he disembarked was the will to see Chu Xuyu again.
His phone had long since died. Before turning on airplane mode, he’d been desperately trying to call his boyfriend overseas, over and over again.
But he’d received no reply. Everything was pointing to the worst—that the news was true.
KIRA: [Call not answered]
KIRA: [Call not answered]
KIRA: Ge
KIRA: I’m on my way to find you
KIRA: Please, wait for me. I’m almost there.
KIRA: [Call not answered]
…
All the messages sank like stones into the sea.
Even though his sister tried to rush to the airport and warned him the news outlet wasn’t credible, begging him to stay calm and not impulsively take the very mode of transportation he’d feared since childhood—
In that moment, Jiang Tian couldn’t hear a thing. His world had gone entirely gray, save for one goal: to see Chu Xuyu as soon as possible.
Because he didn’t bring much luggage and his visa had just come through, he managed to grab the earliest flight. And just like that, he impulsively flew out.
Now, having not slept a wink all night, his body still felt wired, as if on stimulants—no trace of fatigue.
But his condition was clearly alarming.
This tall, strikingly handsome young Asian man, with features that drew admiration from all ethnicities around him, was pale-eyed, out of breath, and frantically searching for a place to charge his phone.
Ding.
As the phone came to life, the screen lit up with countless messages from Chu Xuyu and his sister.
“…”
Jiang Tian stood frozen, completely blank. It was like the last thread holding him together had snapped.
After over ten hours of travel, he was nearing a mental breakdown. He stared at the flood of messages—Chu Xuyu explaining he’d been at his mother’s home with his phone on Do Not Disturb—and his trembling fingers turned ghostly pale.
Barely able to breathe, he wiped the corner of his eyes with the back of his hand, unsure whether it was sweat or tears.
He quickly paid for the charging station and dashed toward the terminal exit. As long as Chu Xuyu was safe, and waiting outside to see him—then all of this had been a false alarm.
At the same time.
With dark circles under his eyes, Chu Xuyu was waiting in the arrival hall. An hour ago, he had just gotten there from the parking lot.
God knows how insane he’d gone in the car, shouting back and forth with that old man over the phone. From the moment Jiang Tian boarded until now, he’d only gotten two or three hours of restless sleep, desperately counting the minutes until his baby landed.
Every second had felt like a year. But finally, news came that Jiang Tian had landed safely.
The previously unreachable phone finally rang. Both voices were hoarse; it was hard to tell who sounded worse. But Chu Xuyu could tell—Jiang Tian was choking up.
It was a voice he’d never heard before. Jiang Tian, who had always hidden his vulnerability, now sounded like he was on the verge of tears.
Chu Xuyu couldn’t wait any longer. He wanted to break into the baggage claim just to get to Jiang Tian faster. But before he could act on that impulse, the two of them spotted each other across the sea of people.
Chu Xuyu: “…”
Jiang Tian: “…”
Only a brief moment of hesitation—
Then both of them rushed forward, blocking out the surrounding chaos, embracing tightly, absorbing each other’s warmth.
A reunion after two months apart.
No one could’ve predicted it would be this dramatic, full of twists and turns—but at least they had both made it here, safe and sound.
Amidst the crowd, people noticed this beautiful gay couple. Even without knowing what had happened, they cast warm and supportive glances their way.
It was as if an invisible barrier surrounded the two of them. They saw no one else—only each other.
Chu Xuyu gently cradled the back of Jiang Tian’s head, rubbing it softly. “You really came all this way?”
“Must’ve scared you half to death, huh?”
Jiang Tian couldn’t answer. He stepped back slightly, eyes sweeping over his very-much-alive boyfriend, confirming he was unharmed. The heart that had been suspended for over ten hours finally dropped—but it was hardly what you’d call peace of mind.
He gave a tiny shake of his head, biting his lower lip hard enough to taste blood. “Ge… You’re really okay…”
“I’m really okay,” Chu Xuyu replied, cupping his boyfriend’s face in one hand. He realized in that moment—screw the fear of flying—he was the bastard who had scared Jiang Tian into this state.
It had been that damned old man’s doing, but Chu Xuyu still felt crushing guilt. He softened his voice and whispered, “Nothing happened. Stupid.”
“How could you believe that for real?”
Jiang Tian couldn’t say a word. His palm was still trembling. He covered Chu Xuyu’s hand with his own and nuzzled into it. His eyes turned even redder.
“…”
Chu Xuyu exhaled a shaky breath—not just guilty, but furious enough to want to throw his own father off a cliff.
His voice was gentler than ever, coaxing, “Good boy. Did you tell your sister you’re safe?”
Jiang Tian shook his head. “Not yet.”
Chu Xuyu lifted a hand and brushed Jiang Tian’s nose. “You shouldn’t let your sister worry.”
Then he took Jiang Tian’s hand, leading him toward the parking area. As he walked, he pulled out his phone to handle it all. “I’ll text her. Save her from rushing here in a panic.”
He was soothing Jiang Tian—but also comforting himself. Thank goodness nothing happened to his baby. Otherwise, he would’ve never forgiven himself.
They returned to the car.
Chu Xuyu called Jiang Qing and informed her of the specific situation. Then, he handed the phone to Jiang Tian, who was in the passenger seat.
Jiang Tian expressed that he had caused his sister to worry and wanted to explain properly, but he couldn’t even speak clearly.
The phone had to be taken back by Chu Xuyu again. As he stretched out his arm to pinch Jiang Tian’s shoulder and rub the back of his head, he finished the call with Jiang Qing and informed her of her younger brother’s condition to relieve her concerns.
Fortunately, it was just a false alarm.
Driving the car towards the city, the car stereo played a classic song, “Butterfly.” The lyrics perfectly matched the current atmosphere.
“Every time I think of you, it’s like rain turning into sunshine.”
“Seeing a butterfly flying over the ruins, it’s the most beautiful, like a miracle.”
“As long as I get close to you, I feel at ease.”
“Your belief in me makes me reborn. No matter how cold the world is, I still have you.”
…
Just as the song sang, no matter what happened, they always cherished each other and would always find a way out of the maze.
Along the way.
The car drove on the elevated road. The gloom dispersed, and the sunlight poured straight down from the clouds, welcoming a rare sunny day in New York.
Jiang Tian tried hard not to fall asleep. Unable to resist, his nerves, which had been tense since seeing Chu Xuyu, relaxed. He hadn’t closed his eyes the whole way and unexpectedly fell asleep.
He even slept soundly. The car stopped, and the door opened, but he was still asleep.
Chu Xuyu wanted to carry him upstairs but saw that he was really too heavy. If he really carried him, the two of them would attract attention all the way. It was better to wake him up.
Jiang Tian was still fast asleep one second, and the next second, he heard him calling his name. He woke up like a startled bird and instinctively wrapped his arms around Chu Xuyu’s neck, hugging him without any regard.
Chu Xuyu was taken aback by his reaction. He bent down, gently stroked his back with his hand, and whispered, “Don’t be afraid.”
“Nothing happened.”
“Everything is fine.”
Jiang Tian’s face was pale. Only after hearing his comfort and smelling the familiar scent of his lover did he come to his senses a little.
He didn’t know how long he had been hugging Chu Xuyu. The latter didn’t urge him and let him be, always by his side.
Until Jiang Tian barely returned to normal, he apologized with his mouth, which made Chu Xuyu laugh softly. He rubbed his hair and said, “Don’t apologize nonsense.”
“Let me kiss you upstairs.”
“…”
His words were too straightforward, which made Jiang Tian’s cheeks a little hot.
It wasn’t particularly direct. After all, Jiang Tian knew that the two of them hadn’t seen each other for two months. How could it end with just one kiss?
“Mmm.”
Even though he was still a little embarrassed, Jiang Tian couldn’t leave his side anymore. He turned into a sticky little dog and said, “Ge can kiss me however he wants.”
This sentence was really powerful.
Even in the elevator of a high-rise building, Jiang Tian was pressed against the wall of the elevator by Chu Xuyu. He felt the invasion of his tongue into his mouth, hot and numb, almost kissing him until his brain was deprived of oxygen.
After all, it was outdoors, and Jiang Tian still had some scruples and couldn’t let go.
When they entered the hotel suite in the high altitude of Manhattan, his response was unprecedently enthusiastic. He couldn’t help but pressed Chu Xuyu against the back of the door, igniting the cold and quiet space.
“…Mmm.”
Chu Xuyu had never seen him like this before and was a little unaccustomed for a while.
But he thought too much in his mind and couldn’t forget the look on Jiang Tian’s face when he was kept in the dark. He was about to cry when he met him. How could he bear to bully this guy again?
Therefore, Jiang Tian became dominant and sticky, actively seeking love. Just psychologically, it filled the emptiness in his heart.
Under Jiang Tian’s initiative, Chu Xuyu felt a strong sense of possessiveness. It wasn’t until now that he realized that his younger boyfriend could also show such a domineering side.
This person was not only handsome but also kissed him. His hands couldn’t be honest and stretched into his clothes, with the temperature of his palms touching his skin like igniting flames.
“…”
Chu Xuyu had never been like this before. He was kissed breathlessly and wanted Jiang Tian to wait, but this guy seemed not to hear him speaking.
Before he could react, Jiang Tian had turned him over and pressed him from behind. His lips bit into the skin on the side of his neck, muttering something.
“Ge…”
“Don’t leave me behind.”
“I’m really afraid that something will happen to you.”
Chu Xuyu just listened silently, his skin unconsciously burning. He wrapped his arms around him and rubbed his ears comfortingly, whispering, “I won’t leave you behind.”
“Good boy.”
“Do whatever you want.”
It was what he wanted to do. He had to say this, which somehow hit Jiang Tian’s point. The atmosphere ignited instantly, showing a side he had never seen before.
Chu Xuyu: “!!!”
The innocent little white flower he usually pretended to be was all an act, right?
Although Chu Xuyu was used to being more dominant towards him, Jiang Tian occasionally acted like this, which seemed pretty good. It had a stimulating feeling of getting a new script.
This incident really scared Jiang Tian. Chu Xuyu was willing to indulge him and willingly comfort his little baby, completely at his mercy.
Jiang Tian’s fingers were slender and strong. Even if he just pinched his face with his index and middle fingers, the strength was just right.
Chu Xuyu: “…”
It felt a bit more excessive than usual.
He turned his body and kissed him fiercely, covering up his subtle expression.
This stimulated Jiang Tian even more. His fair and strong body was covered with a thin layer of blush, so hot that he couldn’t help but say things like he was afraid he would get hurt if he hadn’t seen him for too long.
The two people’s lips naturally parted. Jiang Tian was more active and enthusiastic than ever before, provoking Chu Xuyu to lose his mind and unable to wait any longer.
He urged with unstable breathing, “Baby?”
“Mmm.”
“Ge, Can I?” Jiang Tian’s voice was extremely hoarse, suppressing his surging emotions as he spoke and leaned closer to his warm body.
