Read And Be Lazy
    Chapter Index

To be honest, when Chu Xuyu made that series of movements, Jiang Tian didn’t even have time to react.

Outside, the sky was gradually darkening, bathed in a dusky orange hue—like that day in the taxi in Jing City. A subtle atmosphere was spreading unchecked.

Right now, the air felt like it was overflowing with humidity, even their breaths felt thick and sticky.

Jiang Tian’s body hadn’t fully recovered. He was half-leaning on the bed, stunned as he watched Chu Xuyu’s ambiguous actions. His mind went blank, unable to process what was happening.

A few seconds passed before he finally registered the situation in front of him. But by the time he attempted to resist, it was too late—he was afraid that any sudden movement might hurt the other man.

    “……”

Jiang Tian tilted his face up. The twilight outlined his features; his neck tensed, his cheeks tinged red with shame, and the sharp lines of his jaw trembled slightly.

Not only between the two of them—but time itself seemed to pause. The unfamiliarity of the moment made them both slightly awkward, yet it was enough to overwhelm all their senses.

Jiang Tian’s fingers, clearly defined, gripped the man’s waist as he spoke in a restrained, intimate tone, “Chu Xuyu.”

    “…Are you okay?”

It was the second time he had called his full name directly.

Unlike last time—when they argued at Chu Xuyu’s home and his tone was full of accusation—this time, his voice carried an inexplicable emotion, a sense of testing boundaries, like a duel between equals.

—So much so that Chu Xuyu felt his blood rushing through his entire body.

The man’s shirt was still buttoned perfectly, his black hair carefully styled—he looked every bit the elite professional.

Yet, his expensive suit pants had already fallen to the edge of the bed, hanging slightly off. The metallic sock garters, a typical accessory of a suit, gleamed coldly with a restrained desire. Only the spreading warmth came from somewhere unseen.

The sense of fulfillment was deeper than anything he had ever known.

Then, as he leaned in closer to Jiang Tian, the situation stalled awkwardly. Chu Xuyu paused, eyes downcast, rubbing at his brow with difficulty.

    “You…”

He sounded a little frustrated, licking Jiang Tian’s earlobe as he said, “You always surprise me.”

Jiang Tian’s whole body felt ignited.

He didn’t dare to move recklessly, limited by his status as a patient. All he could do was gently squeeze the man’s waist, as if soothing him, ears burning from the exaggeration of the touch.

Still, Jiang Tian wanted to follow his instincts and ventured, “I…”

    The next second—

In the dim light, the moment their eyes met, Chu Xuyu seemed to hear those words and reacted as if something heavy had fallen from a nearby shelf, suppressing a sharp breath.

    “?!”

Jiang Tian gasped, facing the man’s almost unfocused pupils, muscles tensed, and buried his face into the crook of Chu Xuyu’s neck. “Why are you like this?”

Chu Xuyu looked down at him, always accustomed to being in control. He had no intention of letting others set the pace, not even the young lover he held so dearly.

This moment felt like the peak of blooming crabapple blossoms.

The summer night wind lifted the curtains like wandering waves, accompanied by a mysterious floral fragrance. Their breaths intertwined in whispers of desire.

    Suddenly—

Chu Xuyu tilted his head back, a flush crossing his handsome face as he began calling Jiang Tian’s name in a deeper, raspier tone.

That commanding aura still radiated from him, but during the kiss, the man was no longer as dominant. Instead, Jiang Tian held his face, whispering softly.

    Drip—

The onomatopoeic ticking of the hospital clock matched the rhythm. Even the night wind grew unruly, the room saturated with heated tension.

They kissed, lips and tongues pressed together, arms wrapped tightly around one another. Time blurred, and as the gateway to a new world opened, both let out long, breathy sighs.

    “Haa…”

Everything around them was eerily quiet.

Chu Xuyu was drenched in sweat—not just from exertion. His abdominal muscles glistened like a peeled orange, soft and juicy, sweet and tempting.

Jiang Tian’s calm eyes shimmered with confusion and loss of control. Even though he still wore the hospital gown, his back was soaked through.

Chu Xuyu didn’t dare press down on him, leaning slightly instead to gently kiss the corner of his lips.

In return, the boy unexpectedly tugged up the blanket, their eyes locked in a sticky, ambiguous gaze that filled every inch of the room.

No lights were on inside, but the faint glow from outside allowed Jiang Tian to study the man—his handsome features, his perfectly sculpted abs, the kind of dominant aura that was impossible not to fall for.

This time, he obediently called him “ge”, though it sounded slightly different from before.

Jiang Tian leaned in and kissed his forehead, speaking with rare maturity and tenderness for someone younger. “Does it hurt?”

Chu Xuyu gave a small smile, his eyes fixed on him.

Jiang Tian’s face flushed. He reached his hand out from under the blanket, and even though it was dark, he carefully wiped the sweat from Chu Xuyu’s abdomen.

Neither of them said a word. Only their breathing entwined.

Then suddenly, Chu Xuyu praised him in his magnetic voice, and Jiang Tian, flustered, buried his face into his neck, rubbing against him like a shy puppy.

    “Embarrassed?”

    “…Mm.”

    “Deflowered little virgin.”

    “……”

Jiang Tian didn’t know how to respond. It felt like he’d been taken advantage of—this had all happened so suddenly. But now that it was done, he couldn’t bring himself to speak harshly to Chu Xuyu, who had obviously wanted it too.

He couldn’t even form words. His lips brushed against the man’s cheek as he mumbled softly, “Ge…”

“Want me to help you bathe?” Chu Xuyu nearly laughed, teasing, “You think we’re in a drama where you have to carry me into the bathroom?”

    Jiang Tian: “……”

From the sound of it, he didn’t need help. But Jiang Tian was still worried—after all, it was their first time. He was scared he might have hurt Chu Xuyu, like a rookie doctor obsessing over every detail, asking him endless personal questions.

Chu Xuyu responded by rewarding the little hospital puppy with a kiss. “Stop asking nonsense. If you weren’t still sick, do you think I’d let you get away with all this?”

    Jiang Tian was speechless.

The boy silently helped him clean up, sticking to him like a clingy pup, nestling under the white sheets, fingers interlaced with his.

“…Was it because of that photo?”

Had he not asked, it might have passed—but now that he did, Chu Xuyu’s dangerous intensity returned again—

His strength showed itself again. The searing, heated kiss descended until Chu Xuyu was finally willing to let go of him: “Don’t bring it up again.”

Jiang Tian nodded, looking into those long, dark eyes, as if he occupied Chu Xuyu’s entire world, and softly whispered, “Next time, I’ll do better.”

Chu Xuyu licked his lips. Voluntarily being the bottom for love—it wasn’t a bad experience, but he was still not entirely used to it.

He even had the sudden urge to take control again and pull Jiang Tian in for a few more rounds.

But when he saw the boy flip over and fetch a box of tissues to continue wiping him down, suppressing his own discomfort just to take care of him, that dangerous thought dissipated.

He was already his—what was there to fear? Would his sweetheart escape now?

Chu Xuyu felt quite satisfied, not sure if it was the aftereffects of their intimacy or the peaceful time spent taking care of Jiang Tian, but drowsiness washed over him.

Jiang Tian, the patient, had it rough. After tidying up the mess, he kissed Chu Xuyu’s cheek and said, “Ge, if you’re tired, sleep. You can shower after you wake up.”

Hearing the boy’s voice—so gentle and sweet—

Chu Xuyu let out a soft hum and insisted on staying close. Jiang Tian obediently responded, “Okay.”

In the quiet of the summer night, accompanied by the gentle hum of the central air conditioning, the two of them drifted into a peaceful sleep.

Maybe Jiang Tian would never know—this was the first time in Chu Xuyu’s over ten years of struggling with psychological issues that he could fall into such deep sleep with an eye mask and earplugs on. It was nothing short of a medical miracle.

    The next day—

Jiang Tian had recovered considerably and managed to get out of bed, while Chu Xuyu was still fast asleep. He only opened his eyes when Jiang Tian came to wake him: “It’s morning already?”

    “It’s already daytime.”

Jiang Tian had changed into home clothes and brought a fresh patient gown. Holding Chu Xuyu’s clothes, he offered considerately, “Want me to help you shower?”

“…?” Chu Xuyu, still groggy, was baffled. “I slept all the way from last night until now?!”

To be precise, it wasn’t just last night—he’d fallen asleep right after doing it with Jiang Tian in the early evening and had slept straight through the night!

    Jiang Tian nodded. “Yes.”

    “…Sorry.”

“For not waking you up to shower.”

He thought Chu Xuyu was upset because of his usual obsession with cleanliness and couldn’t accept going the whole night without bathing.

But he didn’t realize that Chu Xuyu sat up in disbelief, thinking—if he had known Jiang Tian could cure his insomnia, he should’ve let him try earlier instead of picking a pointless fight back then.

    Jiang Tian: “…?”

Seeing the man’s handsome face flush red, Jiang Tian couldn’t help but feel a bit clueless. Though not great with words, after receiving such tender care—even in bed—he knew he should treat Chu Xuyu well now that he was recovering.

His strength had always been astonishing, though usually restrained. Helping Chu Xuyu sit up, he asked carefully, “Does it still hurt?”

Chu Xuyu replied with a mix of frustration and amusement, “Don’t be so dramatic.”

But the moment he moved, he gasped sharply and looked at Jiang Tian with disbelief.

The boy looked slightly guilty, ears burning again. “Should I carry you?”

    Chu Xuyu: “?”

    “Baby, it’s not that bad.”

He insisted on getting up himself and managed to put on his pants—not exactly limping, but definitely walking unsteadily.

Jiang Tian followed like a puppy with separation anxiety, clutching the change of clothes and sticking to his side without leaving a single step.

When Chu Xuyu brushed his teeth, Jiang Tian stood in the doorway, watching him intently through the mirror.

When Chu Xuyu washed his face, Jiang Tian even helped squeeze out the men’s facial cleanser—the one his sister had bought for him—and handed it over, remembering to bring it for him.

When Chu Xuyu tried to take a shower, Jiang Tian placed the clothes down and was about to slip away, only to be blocked at the door. The man teased him with a mischievous tone: “Trying to leave at a time like this?”

Jiang Tian paused. “Then… do you want me to help you, ge?”

Chu Xuyu supported himself with one hand on his neck. He knew Jiang Tian’s words came from guilt, and if he really asked him to stay, Jiang Tian probably wouldn’t refuse—but he’d definitely be awkward about it.

    Forget it.

He was honestly afraid he wouldn’t be able to hold back and might pull Jiang Tian into a few more rounds right there in the shower. Then how would they get to work?

Besides, the impulse from last night… wasn’t entirely unrelated to that young girl—but she wasn’t the full cause.

The real issue was all the people who had pursued Jiang Tian back in high school.

He often wondered—if not for his secretary’s mistaken assumptions about Jiang Tian’s love life—Jiang Tian would never have gotten involved with him. What kind of life would the boy have had instead?

    Maybe—

The boy would never have fully realized his true sexuality. Or even if he did, maybe he would’ve ended up dating someone completely unrelated to Chu Xuyu. Started a relationship. Become someone else’s boyfriend.

    Just the thought of it—

Chu Xuyu was nearly overwhelmed by a wave of jealousy again. He almost changed his mind and didn’t want Jiang Tian to leave the house.

But in the end, he rubbed his brow, suppressed his desire, and with an unreadable expression, forced a kiss on Jiang Tian: “Wait for me outside.”

Feeling the saliva on his cheek from the kiss, Jiang Tian was about to wipe it off, but still obediently replied, “…Okay.”

He quietly went out to wait, gently closing the door. Even as he heard the shower running inside, his heart was still racing and his cheeks felt warm.

    Meanwhile—

He started cleaning up the messy bed. Still recovering from internal injuries, he couldn’t move too fast, and didn’t dare make any large or sudden movements. Even bending over, he had to support his waist.

He thought bitterly: those people really didn’t have to go that hard on him.

Thinking back to that day, it must’ve been severe heatstroke. He hadn’t even felt the pain then, just instinctively moved to rescue Lu Qiao and activate the escape sequence.

He couldn’t help recalling everything again, and out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the empty condom wrapper on the floor. He bent over with some difficulty to pick it up, preparing to throw it into the trash bin.

    Just then—

Rapid footsteps suddenly echoed from far outside the room.

The sound of high heels on the floor was unmistakable to Jiang Tian. But he couldn’t move any faster, and as the person pushed the door open, his hand almost trembled from shock.

    “Little brother!”

Jiang Jing, who had rushed back from out of town, was holding back tears. Her voice caught in her throat, sounding half-choked—like Donald Duck squawking incoherently.

She was just about to run to him, when—

From the upscale hospital room’s bathroom, the voice of her former boss drifted out:

    “Baby.”

    “Bring me something.”

    “……”

    “…………”

    Dead silence.

Jiang Jing and Jiang Tian looked at each other, utterly speechless.

Jiang Tian’s hand clenched tightly into a fist, his voice stammering, “Jie…”

“President Chu is… calling for his little pet dog.”

I hope you don’t mind me sharing, today is my birthday but its my second day of work. I miss my college friends.
