FSGOR Ch107 – Extra Anchor
by 707Jiang Tian’s carefully prepared gift had been shredded — all thanks to a big, greedy mutt.
Thinking back on it now… maybe it was his fault for bringing cookies that smelled too good.
The other little gifts could be replaced.
But the bank card with multiple bite marks?
That was his entire plan, ruined.
“……”
Jiang Tian visibly fell into a sulk.
In his mind, a whole new mental to-do list played out automatically:
Go to the bank on a weekday and request a new card
Find another excuse to meet with President Chu
Hand him the money and card
Hopefully… finally be done with all this
Seriously, it was more complicated than repaying a shady online loan.
“What are you thinking about?”
Chu Xuyu bent down to pick up the scattered items.
When he saw the chewed-up bank card, he raised a brow.
“Were you planning to cut off all contact with me?”
He clearly read the teenager’s mind.
Jiang Tian snapped out of it. “No.”
That handsome face wore a faint, embarrassed expression — not obvious, but unbelievably cute. It made Chu Xuyu want to tease him more.
Even though it was their first meeting in person, the months of online interaction made the intimacy feel natural, not awkward.
Meanwhile, Fu Boxi had finished cleaning up the scene.
He half-heartedly pretended to smack his beloved dog and then casually tossed the blame to Chu Xuyu:
“Oh? You two know each other?”
“Don’t be too sad, little cutie. Chu still owes me money — I’ll have him pay you back!”
“……”
What kind of twisted logic was that?
Jiang Tian’s headache worsened. Not only had he failed to return the money, now he was somehow on the receiving end again.
Before he could protest, Chu Xuyu coolly shooed away his friend and the dog.
He then sat down beside Jiang Tian, face cold, voice like someone completely different:
“Your sister went back to the company.”
Jiang Tian’s eyes widened. He turned his head, shock written all over his fair, handsome face.
Chu Xuyu: “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Tian: “You… already knew who I was?”
Chu Xuyu replied that he’d only found out two or three hours ago — then turned the question back on him:
“Do you believe me?”
Jiang Tian said nothing.
The man had no reason to lie. Besides, it really did seem like a coincidence — Jiang Tian himself had only just found out the connection earlier that day.
He mulled over it, unsure what to say.
The two of them sat quietly on the sofa — a suited CEO and a dazed teenager — the whole situation feeling strangely surreal.
“Want to come upstairs for a bit?”
Chu Xuyu propped up his chin with one hand. His gaze was deep, his presence calm and mature.
“The rooftop restaurant’s food is pretty good.”
Jiang Tian tried to act cool.
He’d never interacted with a man like this before, which made his reactions a beat too slow.
“I’m not really hungry.”
Chu Xuyu: “Already had dinner?”
Jiang Tian: “Mm.”
Chu Xuyu: “What’d you eat?”
Jiang Tian: “Grilled fish.”
Chu Xuyu: “With who?”
Jiang Tian: “…My teammates.”
What was this, a census?
Jiang Tian grumbled internally — but right as he finished speaking, his stomach grumbled too.
Not loud, but definitely noticeable.
He froze.
Of course Chu Xuyu heard it — the corners of his lips lifted slightly, as if trying not to laugh.
“Didn’t have much appetite at the time, huh.”
“You were probably distracted after finding out I was your sister’s boss.”
Jiang Tian: “……”
How did he even guess that?!
The boy had no choice but to admit defeat.
Leaning back against the soft sofa, Jiang Tian confessed everything — his true reason for insisting on meeting tonight.
“But… I didn’t expect the card to get chewed up.”
“Mm.”
Chu Xuyu looked equally unhappy — not about the money, of course.
He was genuinely upset that the teenager had thoughtfully picked out those sleep masks and cookies… and his dumb godson had destroyed them.
Chu Xuyu wasn’t good with words — much less with comforting people.
When the hotel staff brought tea and water, he just sat there, letting Jiang Tian drink away — the ultimate “drink more hot water” kind of straight man.
The two sat stiffly side by side, silently sipping tea.
Jiang Tian was clearly trying to find something — anything — to do to escape the awkward silence.
Chu Xuyu: “Still not planning to come upstairs for dinner?”
“No, ge.”
Jiang Tian gulped down several mouthfuls of hot water.
“Water is enough.”
“……”
Chu Xuyu paused for two seconds.
“I’ll treat you.”
“That won’t do. I said I’d treat you—how can I let you pay?”
“Then you treat.”
“……”
“Fine.”
He no longer had any reason to refuse.
First, he was using money from his gold-tier donor, so paying for dinner might ease his guilt a bit.
Second, he was getting kind of hungry…
If his stomach growled again, it’d be way too embarrassing.
However—
Just as Jiang Tian stood up, the world tilted violently.
Like being slammed by a final boss in a 3D motion sickness simulator.
The top-student-athlete nearly lost his balance.
He managed to stay upright only because the man beside him was quick to catch him.
That sudden motion—like a gust of wind—landed him right into Chu Xuyu’s arms.
“…?”
Cute.
That was Chu Xuyu’s first thought.
But it lasted only half a second.
His gaze quickly narrowed.
The boy’s face was flushed a deep red, sweat beading at his temples.
His breathing was unsteady—far from normal.
Something was wrong.
“Not feeling well?”
Chu Xuyu’s brows furrowed.
Jiang Tian leaned into his side, barely able to stand.
His shoulder pressing into the man, he shook his head and insisted, “I’m fine.”
Chu Xuyu was unconvinced.
His eyes fell to the cup of water earlier—
But his thoughts were interrupted when Jiang Tian suddenly slumped against him again.
Chu Xuyu caught him tightly.
“……”
A tall, handsome boy collapsed into his arms like an oversized golden retriever.
Anyone else would’ve seized the chance to carry him straight to the sofa and score a win.
But not Chu Xuyu.
Even with all his interest in Jiang Tian, he wasn’t the kind of man to drug someone or deceive them into bed.
He simply didn’t need to.
He assumed it might’ve been the grilled fish that was off.
But Jiang Tian’s symptoms were worsening.
Head spinning, legs unsteady—he managed to stammer:
“I think… it’s the water…”
“?”
Chu Xuyu’s expression darkened.
The water the waiter brought earlier?
He’d been too busy flirting to even glance at the server’s face.
One arm still supporting Jiang Tian, he used the other to motion his bodyguard over.
“Go investigate immediately.”
“I’ll tell your sister,” he said, knowing he had to take responsibility.
After all, the boy had come to see him—whatever happened now was on him.
But Jiang Tian shook his head with uncharacteristic force.
His voice was slurred and soft, almost like a plea:
“Don’t tell my sister…”
“She doesn’t know I stream games…”
“She doesn’t know I hurt my leg either…”
Chu Xuyu hesitated.
“Then what are you planning to do?”
“I… I don’t know…”
Jiang Tian couldn’t think clearly.
He could only feel a wave of fire traveling downward—burning, intense, incurable, like a scene out of a ridiculous drama.
He… might have to take care of it by hand.
“Ge.”
Jiang Tian wanted to keep his distance.
But somehow, he only leaned in closer.
His breath was like heatwaves, fanning out against the man’s neck, each exhale a tantalizing tease.
“Don’t come so close…”
“?”
Wasn’t it you who leaned in first?
“I… I want to get a room.”
“……”
Chu Xuyu’s breath hitched.
“Can you take me upstairs?”
“I… I can handle it myself.”
“…………”
Chu Xuyu exhaled deeply, rubbing his temples with one hand.
After a moment’s inner war, he instructed the staff to open a double suite.
They walked together toward the private elevator.
Once inside, the doors closed, and Jiang Tian leaned heavily against him, face buried in his broad shoulder.
Chu Xuyu looked down, gaze settling on the boy’s flushed ears.
His voice grew hoarse:
“You know…”
“It really feels like you’re inviting me.”
