FSGOR Ch64
by 707On a weekday, Chu Xuyu rarely had lunch with Shen Yan — it was purely to kill time.
Shen Yan had seen a photo of Chu Xuyu and his young boyfriend in his girlfriend’s WeChat Moments, and sighed enviously more than once.
Chu Xuyu held a wine glass, took a sip of champagne, and smiled. “You and Miss Lu can try posting one too.”
Shen Yan laughed helplessly. “Say that again once you’ve joined the entertainment industry.”
Chu Xuyu was the kind of person who wouldn’t even consider joining showbiz. His group had countless subsidiaries in film and idol industries, but he had zero interest in any of it.
He was always swamped with work — if he had spare time, he’d rather look into which feng shui treasure zone was worth investing in.
Shen Yan didn’t like hearing that. “If Jiang Tian really goes into entertainment, would you still be this relaxed, having drinks with me?”
Chu Xuyu was speechless. “…”
His little one was the type who dove into research — entertainment industry? Even if he did get involved, Chu Xuyu would drag him right back out.
And even without stepping into that world, Jiang Tian already attracted attention just by being on the Peking University campus. From the moment he enrolled, he had been in the spotlight — his chat accounts constantly flooded with friend requests.
Such a hot commodity — Chu Xuyu was genuinely worried someone might snatch him away.
Seeing him turn into a full-on lovesick boyfriend, Shen Yan chuckled and shook his head. A few months ago, he wouldn’t have believed it.
He also noticed that Chu Xuyu was in much better condition than what Fu Boxi had privately claimed. The award-winning actor mused: love truly works miracles.
After lunch, the two planned to visit Fu Boxi and talk about some matters. Since he’d been busy with charity events lately, they drove straight to his studio.
They chatted for a bit, and when Chu Xuyu checked his watch a few times, he excused himself — claiming he had a date. In truth, he was heading off to pick up his university student boyfriend after class.
The two friends just exchanged amused looks and said nothing. After he left, they sat in the courtyard of the studio, autumn setting in, dry yellow leaves fluttering down around them.
Sipping hot tea, they began discussing Chu Xuyu’s private matters, their expressions no longer as relaxed.
“He still hasn’t resolved things with Aunt Zhuang,” Fu Boxi said, gazing toward the direction Chu Xuyu had gone. “But apparently, he did come clean with Uncle Chu. Sounded like it went pretty smoothly. He even said he plans to bring the guy to L.A. to meet the family.”
Shen Yan picked up the teapot and slowly poured a cup. “Uncle Chu’s probably eager to finalize the heir.”
Fu Boxi frowned. “Isn’t that a bit rushed?”
“I heard he’s been pushing hard these past couple of years…”
“You know, my dad leaves me to my own devices. But Chu’s family? They don’t seem the type to be so reckless.”
Shen Yan nodded. “Yeah. But Uncle Chu takes that stuff very seriously.”
They were both well aware: the Chu family was top-tier even among the elite, with deep financial roots. That’s probably why they were even more concerned with the succession issue.
Once Chu Xuyu made the relationship public and introduced Jiang Tian to his social circle as his partner, they’d probably be engaged after graduation — maybe even begin considering adopting a child.
Meanwhile, the person at the center of their discussion was completely unaware and unconcerned.
Chu Xuyu was driving toward Peking University, his mind full of fantasies of Jiang Tian rushing into the car to greet him. At this point in his life, nothing made him feel more relaxed and happy than being with Jiang Tian.
The car’s speakers were playing not only his favorite tracks but also songs he had stolen from Jiang Tian’s playlist. A few R&B tunes really hit the spot.
He had never imagined he’d fall this deep — just hearing songs they both liked now felt ridiculously sweet, like sugar pouring out from the sky.
Along the way…
He planned to wait in the parking lot near the chemistry lab building, pick Jiang Tian up after class, then head to a nice candlelit dinner.
Just as he parked, before he could even finish editing a message to Jiang Tian, a call came in from Los Angeles.
He hadn’t even heard the voice, yet his mood soured instantly.
Chu Xuyu frowned and accepted the call, asking bluntly, “What do you want?”
Chu Jianye: “You’re not even bringing him home for New Year’s to meet your grandfather?”
Hearing that, anger surged inside Chu Xuyu. He restrained himself from snapping. “Are you sure it’s not you who wants to meet him?”
Chu Jianye: “Even if I do, so what?”
“My son finally found someone he likes. Bringing him home to meet the family and deciding on the heir early — isn’t that a win-win?”
Chu Xuyu sneered. “That’s none of your business.”
He hung up immediately. What right did that old man have to butt into their plans about adoption?
He should worry about his own romantic mess — having his wife discover his secret and falling into severe psychological distress. Chu Xuyu would never forgive him for that.
At the same time…
In Peking University’s Chemistry Department lab, Jiang Tian, dressed neatly in a lab coat, looked like a model straight off a fashion magazine as he stood beside a document cabinet, ready to leave.
Light footsteps approached behind him. Dou Ya caught up and patted his back. “Tian-Ge, if I manage to get an internship offer from Mr. Chu’s company, would I finally get to meet him?”
Jiang Tian chuckled. “You can try.”
Dou Ya blinked, her eyes sparkling with youthful curiosity. She really wanted to know what Jiang Tian’s boyfriend looked like. She hadn’t been this nosy at first — it was all because of her friends in the group chat. They had run into a couple at a con that looked exactly like a top and bottom from a BL pairing, took photos, and went crazy over their godlike visuals and sweet couple vibe. Dou Ya immediately knew it was Jiang Tian and his boyfriend.
Later, when she saw the official announcement post in Jiang Tian’s Moments, she regretted not skipping her concert to catch a glimpse of the legendary “Wolf Ge.”
“You guys ever gonna post a full-face photo?” Dou Ya kept pestering Jiang Tian as she followed behind him. A clueless guy in their class rolled his eyes.
He sneered, “Dou Ya, Jiang Tian doesn’t like girls. He already posted about his boyfriend — don’t you think you’re pushing it?”
The air froze.
They both fell into an awkward silence. “…”
Dou Ya looked bold and cheerful on the outside, but she was actually soft and easily flustered. Her brain short-circuited — she couldn’t even think of a comeback.
Jiang Tian stepped in to smooth things over, saying calmly, “Dou Ya is my friend. What you said isn’t true.”
“I hope you’ll apologize to her.”
Hearing that, the boy opened his mouth reluctantly. “Fine, sorry.”
At least he respected Jiang Tian — he signed the form with a smile and left.
Dou Ya’s face turned bright red, but she looked more like she had swallowed a fly than anything. She hated herself for not snapping back in the moment.
She looked embarrassed and mumbled, “Maybe I should keep some distance from you after all…”
Jiang Tian finished replying to a message, signed his name, and handed her the pen and paper. “My boyfriend’s probably here. Want to have dinner with us tonight?”
Dou Ya froze. “Huh?!!”
She was just a naive fangirl, and after being defended like that — and even invited to meet Jiang Tian’s boyfriend — she was nearly moved to tears.
Before she could even process it, Jiang Tian had already walked over to his locker, grabbed his phone, and texted Chu Xuyu, “Chu-Ge said he really appreciates that you support us and wants to treat you to a meal.”
Dou Ya nearly burst into tears. “Re—really?!”
“Wuwuwu…”
“You guys are so sweet, just like our Wolf Ge and Little Pup CP!!!”
Jiang Tian smiled but said nothing.
He and Chu Xuyu were used to spending time as just the two of them. After making their relationship public, his boyfriend had mentioned that he could invite friends over, but Jiang Tian didn’t have many close ones — not many chances like this had come up.
This time, after Dou Ya was misunderstood, he figured inviting her to dinner with his boyfriend would naturally silence any gossipy remarks from others.
Besides, she’d given him her comic con ticket without accepting his transfer payment — it was his way of showing thanks.
After leaving the lab—
Just half an hour ago, Dou Ya had still been envying her group chat friends. But now, thanks to a dinner invitation from Jiang Tian and his boyfriend, she was over the moon.
Even just a photo of the meal would be enough. Once shared, the thousand-person group chat would turn into a sea of lemon emojis, full of envious screams.
Who would’ve thought she’d be this lucky — invited by a handsome classmate to dine with his boyfriend, a CEO worth billions. The CP was so sweet, she nearly forgot to eat.
This didn’t just cure the frustration of being misunderstood by a rude classmate — it also washed away her earlier lab failures and bad mood.
After dinner—
Chu Xuyu personally drove, Jiang Tian sat in the passenger seat, and they dropped Dou Ya off at her dorm.
She was still in a daze, thanking President Chu over and over again for the meal, and blessing the sweetest couple in the world. In her excitement, she even blurted out, “Thanks to our Wolf Ge and Lil Pup!”
Realizing what she’d said, she immediately wished she could vanish on the spot, and ran back to the dorm building before they could say anything.
Chu Xuyu was thoroughly amused. Thinking about it, all of Jiang Tian’s friends were quite interesting.
As he drove, he reached over and hooked Jiang Tian’s chin with a finger. “Maybe you’re just too cute.”
He was good at teasing, and Jiang Tian always followed his rhythm. Lowering his face, he kissed the back of Chu Xuyu’s hand. “Am I?”
“Let’s head home,” he said.
Chu Xuyu smiled, turned the wheel, and as the luxury car’s windows closed, he stepped on the gas, pulling out of the Chemistry Department’s parking area.
Late at night.
Autumn leaves fell heavily, striking the nearby white Bentley with a solid thud.
Inside the car, the man in the driver’s seat sat frozen in shock, unable to even blink.
Zhuang Zhe had always been a responsible academic advisor. That evening, he’d accompanied a female student to the hospital due to a health issue, and afterward brought her back to the dorm.
What he didn’t expect… was to see Jiang Tian sitting in the luxury car he’d once seen at Runshan Mansion.
“…”
Zhuang Zhe squinted, lit a cigarette, and inhaled the addictive nicotine deeply. “Of all people… why him?”
He muttered to himself, then took out his phone. Using a fake freshman account, he entered Jiang Tian’s Moments and once again saw the photo he’d posted.
If it weren’t for the fake account, his advisor profile would’ve been completely blocked by Jiang Tian.
Thinking about all of this—
Zhuang Zhe let out a bitter laugh. He had long repressed his own orientation, and just when he’d finally met someone his type… such an absurd coincidence had to occur.
Truth be told, Jiang Tian ticked every one of his boxes. At first, he thought Jiang Tian was straight and gave up.
But the twist—
Not only was Jiang Tian into men, his partner also came from an extraordinary background. And worse, he had an entangled relationship with someone Zhuang Zhe had once seen as a benefactor.
His eyes stayed locked on the screen. That man was two years older — name: Chu Xuyu. The youngest CEO on the country’s rich list and the biological son of Meng Tangyan.
A peer with a highborn status, born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Zhuang Zhe had known of him long ago and his inheritance as a business empire heir.
Even though his parents had a rocky relationship, his life was still something most people wouldn’t dare to dream of.
As for Zhuang Zhe… he was just a student from a poor mountain village. He had never imagined that the woman who sponsored him would develop such twisted desires for him.
And that his entire life would be trapped in the shadow of Runshan Mansion.
At some point, it began to rain — hard. The sound against the windshield was almost deafening, like shattering glass.
Zhuang Zhe laughed bitterly, his shoulders trembling. He thought to himself, This rain isn’t nearly heavy enough. Let it pour harder.
