FSGOR Ch28part1

When his gaze lingered on that face, Chu Xuyu seemed calm, but his heart was already in turmoil.
The boy before him stood perfectly still, his face hidden in the dim light.
And yet, his presence was undeniably striking—like a tall, slender poplar tree, with a cool and distant air.
He didn’t avoid eye contact. His lips were pressed into a thin line, making it clear he was nervous and uneasy inside.
That made Chu Xuyu’s lips curl into a slight smile.
“Why aren’t you answering?”
He was playing dumb, and Jiang Tian only realized after hearing the question that he’d been locked in a silent stare with the man for several seconds.
Meanwhile, his sister was still waiting for him.
“…Sorry.”
Jiang Tian broke eye contact. He really couldn’t delay any longer, even though he and his sister’s former boss had already recognized each other.
There was no time to explain. Given the urgency of the situation, all he wanted was to leave quickly.
“I have something to take care of. Can we meet a bit later?”
Upon hearing this—
Chu Xuyu raised an eyebrow slightly, his tone lazy yet teasing: “There are still three hours until our agreed time.”
“You’re free to do whatever you want.”
“…”
Jiang Tian was momentarily stunned, and then a bit relieved.
If one were to analyze this logic, perhaps he’d always known this man wouldn’t easily let him go.
But fortunately, the other party wasn’t being unreasonable. Despite that cold, stern face, his words unexpectedly showed understanding of Jiang Tian’s situation.
“Thank you.”
Jiang Tian paused, unconsciously glancing in the direction of his sister.
“I’ll contact you later,” he said in a low voice.
He shut the car door. From the corner of his eye, he saw the man still watching him intently—his chiseled, sculpture-like face unreadable.
And those long, dark eyes… the sharp gaze bore into him, more unsettling than any of their past online conversations.
“…”
Why had he ever dared to mess with this man?
Even someone like Jiang Tian, who wasn’t exactly timid, felt rattled as he quickly walked toward the elevator.
His heart was in his throat, mind blank from their brief exchange.
Only a thick, overwhelming feeling lingered, leaving him anxious and incredulous.
The idea that this man would punish him harshly now felt… wrong.
The real interaction had overturned the frightening image he had built up in his head.
After reuniting with his sister, Jiang Tian acted like nothing had happened.
The elevator arrived just in time. He held the door open as the two of them stepped in.
This parking garage connected directly to a mall. Just across the street was the K.R. bar district.
The ex-boyfriend had sent them the address of a Thai restaurant—the kind Jiang Jing usually liked, but clearly, they weren’t going there to eat.
Inside the elevator, they set up the listening device, hidden in Jiang Jing’s handbag.
The audio would sync directly to Jiang Tian’s phone.
They agreed on the plan: Jiang Jing would meet the ex in person, while Jiang Tian observed quietly from a private room next door.
Although Jiang Tian was still a little worried, Jiang Jing ruffled his hair and smiled,
“Your Jie is awesome.”
“I brought you along just to feel more at ease.”
“Believe in me—I can handle everything.”
Jiang Tian’s feelings were mixed, but he smiled faintly.
He was glad she wanted him there—at least he could protect her immediately if something went wrong.
The timing was perfect. The restaurant had just opened, and the siblings entered their respective private rooms.
From the outside, it looked like Jiang Jing had come alone, just waiting for the scumbag to bring out whatever he’d prepared.
Meanwhile, Jiang Tian sat quietly in the next room, sipping lemon water to calm his nerves.
His phone lay on the table. A message popped up from his sister: the ex had just arrived at the parking lot.
This meant the confrontation was about to begin.
Still, Jiang Tian’s eyes drifted to a different chat—the man with the anime avatar, the CEO.
He hadn’t messaged at all since they parted.
He never imagined they’d run into each other early in the parking lot.
Looking back, from the moment he and his sister got out of the car, their every move probably hadn’t escaped that man’s notice.
Had he secretly investigated him? Could he even know about that ridiculous misunderstanding?
“…”
As Jiang Tian got lost in his thoughts, a soft chime came through his earphones—
The monitor had detected sound.
His reflexes kicked in. He launched the recording sync app.
The scumbag had arrived. Now it was time to listen to what he’d say to his sister.
***
One Wall Apart.
Once upon a time, they were planning to get married.
Now, they were bitter enemies—on the verge of all-out war.
Jiang Jing was naturally direct and couldn’t hide her fury,
while Yang Xiantong, the ex, put on a show of civility—a smiling fox trying to maintain a fake peace.
But she didn’t even get through a couple of dishes before losing patience.
The man quickly revealed his true face.
“This document I have here is pretty interesting.”
Yang Xiantong smirked, sliding a USB across the table.
“Xiao Jing, I heard you’re under investigation at your company?”
“…”
Not just Jiang Jing—even Jiang Tian, listening through his earphones next door, felt like his heart skipped a beat.
He never imagined the scumbag would stoop so low.
Jiang Jing let out a cold laugh.
“I don’t know where you heard that, but I can guess what’s in that USB—it’s all fake evidence you cooked up to frame me, right?”
Yang Xiantong didn’t answer. He just raised an eyebrow and said, “By the way, why didn’t you bring Xiao Tian today?”
Jiang Jing nearly spat on him.
“That’s my blood brother. Who the hell are you to call him that?”
Still smiling, Yang Xiantong even poured tea for them both, sipping leisurely: “With your personality, I figured you’d bring him along.”
“Since I don’t see him, you must’ve planted some recording device nearby instead?”
“Xiao Jing, I know you too well. I know about the shady things you did at work—and I figured you’d try to trap me too.”
“…”
Jiang Jing was about to explode.
This man not only flipped the story to make her look guilty—he forged evidence to destroy her reputation.
When you know someone deeply, you know their weak spots.
And Jiang Jing’s was her career. She was fiercely committed to her job, and would never tolerate any slander against her professionalism.
With a whack, she pulled out a stack of printed materials from her handbag—
A pre-prepared PowerPoint presentation designed to expose this scam marriage attempt.
She slammed it on the table.
“Cut the crap.”
“That USB won’t even work unless you plug it in.”
“Why don’t you take a look at the presentation I prepared for you first?”
Jiang Jing was also a top student, a renowned debater during her school days. The logic of her PowerPoint presentation was not just rigorous—it was explosive no matter where you opened it!
Even during the relationship, when she had been gentle, accommodating, and easy to talk to, letting Yang Xiantong mistake her for someone easy to manipulate—she was never someone to be bullied.
By now, both had completely torn off their masks. There was no longer any need to maintain appearances.
Having seen her reveal her cards, Yang Xiantong’s face darkened. Though he was good at pretending—with that polished, elite facade—he now finally revealed his disgusting true nature.
“Of course, you can go ahead and spread this so-called evidence around.”
Yang Xiantong picked up his chopsticks slowly, not even glancing at the PPT. His tone was gloomy: “But you should know how high a price you’ll pay for doing that.”
“Xiao Jing, there’s really no need for us to get to that point, don’t you think?”
His subtext couldn’t have been clearer—he was threatening her using his family background.
In the next room, Jiang Tian clearly heard his sister’s erratic breathing through his earpiece. He stood up, about to storm in and confront the bastard.
But his sister stopped him. Even though she was gasping with anger, she gritted her teeth and said:
“I’m not afraid!”
“Don’t think I’m that easy to mess with!”
She abruptly stood, grabbed her bag, and—right in front of her ex—called for her brother from the next room. The two of them left the restaurant without looking back.
But before they got far, Jiang Tian turned on his heel, returned to the table, picked up the USB stick, and said coldly:
“If you actually dare to do that, I won’t let you off.”
Despite his innocent and handsome face, even when he spoke such threatening words, the scumbag—who was also gay—likely felt a twisted thrill from it.
That disgusted Jiang Tian even more. He took the USB, not out of fear, but to uncover whatever schemes were hidden inside. That way, he could strike back as needed.
The tall, long-legged youth caught up to his sister, who was already walking toward the elevator. At that moment, he realized just how small and fragile her figure was—this sister who had shielded him from so much of the world for years.
He clenched his fists so hard it seemed he might crush the USB, but instead, he silently walked beside her and called softly:
“Jie…”
Jiang Jing, always the caring older sister, turned back with a gentle yet resolute smile:
“Don’t be scared, Xiao Tian.”
“Trust that your Jie will take care of everything.”
The siblings stood there in the night wind, as if they’d gone back to the days when indifferent relatives treated them coldly. They had always supported each other—like even if the world ended, they wouldn’t be afraid.

Underground parking garage.
Inside a luxury car.
Chu Xuyu lounged in his seat, idly scrolling through his phone. It looked like he was just killing time. The only sound was the soft hum of the air purifier.
After who knows how long, he caught a glimpse of the Toyota in front—its headlights flashed.
