Read And Be Lazy

    Chapter 47

Chu Ya turned off the bedroom light. Shen Qianqian tossed and turned under the quilt, mumbling non-stop.

“What’s wrong? You’re like a boiling kettle.” Chu Ya asked with his eyes closed.

Shen Qianqian didn’t make a sound or say anything. Just when Chu Ya thought he was asleep, he suddenly raised his feet, lifted the quilt high, and slammed it back on the bed. Then he continued to raise his feet and slammed them down.

Chu Ya looked at him sideways: “What are you doing? It’s time to go to bed.”

Shen Qianqian seemed not to hear it. This time, when he slammed his feet on the bed, he also screamed: “Ah!!”

Chu Ya didn’t say anything, but just reached out and groped around the bed. Shen Qianqian noticed his action and asked, “What are you touching?”

Chu Ya raised his hand, holding something in his hand. Shen Qianqian couldn’t see clearly, so he asked again, “What are you holding?”

    “Clothes hanger!”

    “Oh.”

Shen Qianqian didn’t hit the bed with his heels again, but he didn’t lie down. He raised his hand and lifted the quilt on his body. Chu Ya covered him, and he continued to lift it, cover it again, and lift it again. Although his two feet didn’t hit the bed, they were raised and placed on the wall next to him.

After Chu Ya said it several times, he couldn’t stop, and raised his hand without any more patience.

    Slap!

The slap landed on Shen Qianqian’s butt.

Shen Qianqian put down his feet that were resting on the wall.

This time, Chu Ya covered him tightly with the quilt, making sure that no cold wind could get into his shoulders and neck.

“Why don’t you use a clothes hanger?” Shen Qianqian asked in the dark.

“Do you have to be picky when you get beaten?”

“You should use a hanger when you beat me!” Shen Qianqian opened the quilt again and asked angrily, “You clearly wanted to use a hanger to beat me, why didn’t you use one?”

Chu Ya was troubled by his unreasonable behavior and raised his hand mercilessly.

    Snap, snap, snap!

    Shen Qianqian was instantly exhausted.

Chu Ya took the quilt and covered Shen Qianqian again. This time, he didn’t dare to lift the quilt again, nor did he ask Chu Ya to beat him with a hanger. He just wrapped himself tightly, leaving his head exposed and crying.

Chu Ya ignored him and just lay there with his eyes closed. Shen Qianqian’s crying became quieter, humming like a mosquito. After humming for a while, he felt bored and opened his eyes to look at Chu Ya quietly. Seeing that he was lying on his side with his back to him, he raised his upper body and stuck his head out to look at his face.

    “Hmph… Hmph…”

“Want to take two more hits?”

“Hmph…” Shen Qianqian lay down again.

But he was not honest after lying down. He stretched out his two feet from the quilt and kicked against the wall, making a banging sound. Chu Ya really didn’t know what he wanted to do, so he reached out and pressed the light switch.

Under the light, Shen Qianqian was dazzled and raised his hands to cover his eyes, but his face was flushed, his ears were also red as if bleeding, and his hair was wet with sweat and stuck to his head.

Chu Ya was stunned for a moment, and then he realized that Shen Qianqian was not kicking the quilt unreasonably, but he was having a fever.

“Is it very hot?” Chu Ya asked.

    “Hmph…”

How can it be so hot on such a cold day? Is he sick?

Chu Ya reached out to touch Shen Qianqian’s forehead, but the skin temperature was normal where he touched, and he didn’t have a fever.

“Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?” Chu Ya asked in a low voice.

Shen Qianqian looked at Chu Ya with an irritated face: “Well, I feel uncomfortable.”

    “Where do you feel uncomfortable?”

“I feel uncomfortable everywhere, even my hair feels uncomfortable.” He thought for a moment and then said, “I’m just very angry, very, very angry.”

    “What are you angry about?”

Shen Qianqian showed a trace of confusion on his face: “I don’t know.”

“What do you want to do now?”

“I, I want to hit the little bear.”

“You’ve been getting angry all the time recently, and you hit the little bear several times today.” Chu Ya patiently said in a low voice: “When you want to get angry, close your eyes and take a deep breath.”

After that, he demonstrated once: “This is deep breathing.”

Shen Qianqian followed with interest, taking a deep breath and laughing. He reached out to touch Chu Ya’s cheek, and then touched his own bulging cheeks. It seemed that he had recovered his mood. The irritability just now was swept away, and the blush on his face gradually faded.

Chu Ya finally coaxed Shen Qianqian to sleep. He looked at the sleeping child with his arms and legs spread out, and doubts began to bubble up in his heart again.

Shen Qianqian’s behavior was exactly the same as that of the sentinel guide who had just entered the differentiation period.

Could it be that he had really differentiated?

Chu Ya’s heart was in turmoil. If his energy field was intact, he could still use his energy to investigate. But now that he had no energy, he wouldn’t know even if Shen Qianqian had differentiated.

      …

Shen Qianqian was clearly aware that he was floating in the air, looking down at the small courtyard below from a high place. He was so light that he had no weight. He could move freely in the air, and he could also suddenly lean over and fly close to the ground. He was like a wisp of wind blowing by, able to get through the gaps in the closed windows, and climb to the top of the tall building. He could be everywhere and penetrate every hole, experiencing this wonderful feeling, diving down like a dove, in the air.

When he fell again, something struck him. Although it was dark at this time, Shen Qianqian did not need light. Everything in front of him was a black thing with blurred outlines and unclear lines. The table was still supported by four long legs.

    Table!

Shen Qianqian wanted to escape immediately, but his strong curiosity stopped him and made him approach slowly and carefully.

He just took a look. He want to see what ghost was hiding behind the table… Shen Qianqian slowly approached and wanted to look behind the table. The table leg closest to him suddenly rose up, and in his horrified gaze, it swung like an iron rod. Shen Qianqian screamed in agony, and the world spun around, like a spinning top that was shot away…

The room was quiet, and two children. One big and one small, were lying on the big bed, sleeping. Shen Qianqian suddenly frowned, hugged Chu Ya’s arm and muttered anxiously. Chu Ya turned over in his sleep, and gently patted his back. He was soon calmed down and fell asleep again.

This time, Shen Qianqian found himself in a strange place. The whole world was empty and dark, with only tornadoes and spinning boulders. He didn’t know where this was, but he did not panic. He just felt that this place was very familiar, as if he was surrounded by Chu Ya’s breath, which was both intimate and safe. He instinctively knew that this was Chu Ya’s place.

The light from the garbage dump came in through the window, casting a layer of gray on the furniture in the house. Chu Ya lay on the bed with his eyes wide open. There was no sleepiness in his eyes, only shock and disbelief.

When a guiding spirit tried to enter his spiritual realm, he was awakened instantly. His first reaction was that Gu Lin’s men had arrived, and then he reached for the dagger under his pillow.

He looked around with the dagger, but found nothing unusual. It was quiet outside the house, and only the sound of a forklift working in the direction of the garbage dump could be heard.

He could feel that the spirit was very weak, and it used its paww to touch the outer wall of his spiritual realm, like a kitten playing with a ball of yarn, with cautious curiosity, and it quickly retracted after a touch.

He could also feel that this guiding spirit had no hostility towards him, but was very close and familiar, so familiar that he seemed to hear the child’s laughter and the child calling Shen Miaomiao.

Chu Ya’s heart was pounding, and he slowly turned his head to look at Shen Qianqian beside him.

The child was sleeping very soundly, with half of his face sunk into the pillow, and his mouth slightly pouted.

Is it him? How could it be him? No way…

    No, it was clearly him!

Chu Ya suppressed his excitement and did not wake up or disturb Shen Qianqian. He just put down the dagger and lay down slowly.

He could not feel his own spiritual realm, but he could feel the trajectory of Shen Qianqian’s activities in his spiritual realm, as well as some exclamations that sounded from time to time.

“So many stones, why are there so many stones.”

“Ah, I was blown away by the wind, ah ah ah ah, I’m so dizzy.”

“I was hit by a stone again, hahahaha.”

“I want to hit you too, I want to knock you apart!”

      …

Chu Ya closed his eyes and felt it, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised. When the excitement dissipated, he opened his eyes and looked at Shen Qianqian, and worry rose in his heart again.

Originally, awakening as a sentinel guide would make him an important target of protection by the army. For orphans like Shen Qianqian, he not only had the ability to protect himself, but also change his own destiny. But he had seen two children who were taken away in White Castle, and knew that entering the differentiation period was not a good thing for Shen Qianqian. He hoped that Shen Qianqian would be just an ordinary child and grow up safely in the welfare home.

Shen Qianqian entered differentiation at this time, and the road was unpredictable. He does not know whether it is a blessing or a curse. Chu Ya also tossed and turned in bed, feeling happy and worried.

He always felt unsafe whenever Shen Qianqian go back to the welfare home every day, but there was no other way now. He could only quickly find a way for him to get food, and then he would not let Shen Qianqian go back to the welfare home.

But even if he could find food, Shen Qianqian had to go back. If they found out that he was no one in the welfare home, it would be even more troublesome.

Chu Ya fell asleep in the middle of the night. While he was asleep, he could feel Shen Qianqian still playing in his mind. He suddenly jumped into the tornado, was swept up for a while, and then thrown out.

The next day, after Shen Qianqian woke up, although he could remember everything clearly, he just thought he had a dream.

“I went to a very strange place after I went to bed. It was very strange, very strange.” Shen Qianqian sat on the bed with his hair disheveled, and said to Chu Ya who was dressing him.

“Raise your hand, right arm.” Chu Ya put Shen Qianqian’s hand into his sleeve, and then asked, “Are you dreaming?”

“Is it a dream?” Shen Qianqian looked confused, “But this dream is so… so good.”

“Which one of it is good?” Chu Ya glanced at him.

Shen Qianqian struggled to describe: “I used to only have one dream, but this dream was so long, I can remember it, more than the dream of eating buns.”

    “What do you remember?”

“I remember I was spinning in the wind.” Shen Qianqian closed his eyes and shook his head, “I was spinning and spinning…”
