Chapter 13

 

Wang Zhusheng and his brother made their way toward Shen Qianqian menacingly, brushing the sleeves of his cotton coat as he walked.

 

“Shen Qianqian, it’s you bullying my brother again.”

 

“I didn’t, I, I, he-he’s a thief.” Shen Qianqian stammered as he explained.

 

Wang Zhusheng and his brother pointed at him with a fierce face: “You still want to put a shit basin on my brother’s head, right? I’m going to beat you in the mouth today!”

 

Shen Qianqian continued to explain: “I didn’t buckle the basin, I didn’t, I didn’t take the basin out.”

 

Wang Zhusheng stopped crying, looked at Shen Qianqian proudly, and pointed to Lin Duozhi again: “And him too.”

Shen Qianqian rushed forward, almost hitting the person who had just come out of the dormitory. He only heard the sound of footsteps, the thud of the basin falling to the ground, Wang Zhusheng’s angry scolding of his brother, and Chen Hongliang’s loud shout: “Give way, give way, you all give ……way”

Shen Qianqian rushed out of the corridor, continued to move forward along the dormitory building without thinking, and then turned left and rushed to the backyard.

 

He didn’t dare to turn back halfway, only knowing that Lin Duozhi was running behind him, and Wang Zhusheng’s brother was getting closer and closer to them.

Lin Duozhi followed in, and Wang Zhusheng and his brother also rushed to the pile of tables and chairs, leaning over to drill holes. But the hole between the table and chair was too small for him to poke his shoulders into.

Wang Zhusheng and his brother stood up, climbed onto the separate table next to them, and moved down from the top of the pile of tables and chairs. The other children also ran to the backyard. Wang Zhusheng went to give his brother a hand, Tang Yuanyuan and the others stood far away and didn’t dare to come.

 

Although the weather was cold, Shen Qianqian sweat all over his face. He took off his cotton hat and looked out through the gap between the tables and chairs, and saw Wang Zhusheng holding an iron stool and putting it aside, while his brother moved an iron table and threw it on the ground.

Wang Zhusheng and his brother had just moved so many iron tables and chairs, and Wang Zhusheng’s brother was so angry that he couldn’t do it. Although he had a violent personality, he was reluctant to beat Wang Zhusheng, and he had nowhere to vent his anger.

 

Shen Qianqian noticed Wang Zhusheng’s brother’s gaze, and his heart began to beat rapidly, and he immediately put away his thoughts to watch the excitement and retreated.

 

Wang Zhusheng’s brother really pounced, but he grabbed an empty spot, so he squatted in front of the cave and shouted inside: “Shen Qianqian, if you have the ability, you can stay inside and don’t come out. As soon as you come out, I’m going to kill you.”

 

After speaking, he dragged an iron stool leg from the side, put the sharp end into the hole, and said with a hideous face: “Do you see this?” As long as I’ll be able to grab you, I will break your bones and stab you in half.”

 

After Wang Zhusheng and his brother threatened this pass, he threw away the iron rod and dragged Wang Zhusheng up from the ground: “If you dog make trouble again, I will beat you together. Let’s go, hurry up and eat.”

 

When the two brothers left, the other children ran over and asked, “Did he stab you with an iron rod just now?”

“Go and tell him to the management.”

Tang Yuanyuan thought for a while: “Lin Duozhi can come out, he didn’t say that he wanted to hit Lin Duozhi, Shen Qianqian shouldn’t  come out first.”

Shen Qianqian sat in the hole of the table, nodded and said, “Then I won’t go out, I’ll live here.”

He and Lin Duozhi pointed out that they hadn’t finished the chocolate, so they handed the remaining three pieces: “You guys eat it.”

 

This day, Shen Qianqian stayed in this small space and never went out.

 

The children in the orphanage also have classes every day, and there is a class schedule posted next to the door of the classroom. But they don’t have a dedicated teacher. All classes are managed part-time by the management of the hospital.

 

Most of these managers are from the town of Keko, and they don’t know how to teach classes, they just teach wherever they want. Once, Shen Qianqian felt that the teacher in class was very familiar, and found that it was a small worker in the kitchen who peeled cassava.

“Are you going to sleep here tonight?” Tang Yuanyuan squatted in front of the cave and looked around, “This is the backyard.”

He was afraid of being beaten to death by Wang Zhusheng and his brother, and he was also afraid of the ghost that had become particularly mad that night, so he stood there and hesitated, not knowing what to do now.

 

When he saw that Lin Duozhi was about to run out of the backyard, his heart was full of horror and despair that he was the only one left in the world, so he cried.

Lin Duozhi, who was running, stopped, and then turned around and trotted towards Shen Qianqian.

 

“Don’t cry, don’t cry, I’m back.”

Shen Qianqian with his eyes closed howled: “I’m afraid to be…… here”

Lin Duozhi pointed out: “Then let’s go back.”

“I’m also afraid that Wang Zhusheng will call  his brother……”

 

Lin Duozhi pondered Shen Qianqian’s cry, and finally touched his arm: “Or, or you could go to the garbage dump and live in your office for a few days.”
