“It’s a fake, right?”
“Hmm.”
Shen Qianqian couldn’t move his feet every time he saw something new. Chu Ya didn’t urge, and when he walked out of this street, it was almost a little past noon.
The next long street has a number of institutions, including hospitals.
Chu Ya knew that the town had been plagued by a virus, and the hospital was full of corpses. Although the army had sanitized and cleaned up several times, it was impossible to encounter untreated corpses again, but he still wanted Shen Qianqian to stay outside and wait.
“Don’t go there alone.” Shen Qianqian looked around and said in a low voice: “There are ghosts here.”
“You can go and hand over the cart and drive the big car.”
“I won’t drive now. I want to protect you. You can’t go into the hospital alone, there are ghosts in the hospital.”
Chu Ya was not very relieved to leave Shen Qianqian alone, so he took him into the hospital with him.
This hospital is a bit old, and it is all two or three stories of small blue brick buildings. It covers a wide area with small buildings scattered everywhere, and every two departments are one building.
There was yellow grass growing in the clearing, and there was nothing but barrenness in the whole view. There is also a clear font on the small building closest to them: registration payment, inspection.
Chu Ya entered the hall with Shen Qianqian and walked into the hall. At a glance, he saw several wheelchairs lined up in the corner.
“These carts are good.” Shen Qianqian ran around the wheelchair to look, “Shen Meow, look at this, look at this.”
“It’s called a wheelchair, and it was meant to sit for people who can’t walk.”
Chu Ya struggled to get up with an iron bar, Shen Qianqian hurriedly went to help, hugged Chu Ya’s waist, shouted a trumpet, and moved him to the wheelchair.
“Little class, come on…… You slow us down, slow ua down……”
Every time Chu Ya moved, there was a dull pain in his thigh, and when he finally sat down in the wheelchair, a layer of sweat was already oozing from his forehead.
“Are you hot?” Shen Qianqian moved his sleeves to wipe his sweat, and when he saw his glistening skin, he pulled up his tie to wipe it.
“No, no, it’s not hot, thank you.”
“Then you try it, see if the wheelchair can run fast. Go ahead and try it.”
Chu Ya really began to turn the wheelchair and walked left and right in the smooth and spacious hall.
“It’s so fast, this cart, no, this wheelchair is fine.”
Shen Qianqian ran excitedly, constantly laughing in surprise. Chu Ya saw that the wheelchair was wide, so he pulled him between his legs and sat down. After sliding twice in the hall, they entered the courtyard through the obstacle passage.
“Hahaha, hahaha! Wheelchair car, Wheelchair car.
Shen Qianqian laughed bigger and bigger, and the corners of Chu Ya’s mouth hooked up a shallow smile. He moved up with Shen Qianqian around the flower beds, through the long corridors, and through the empty hospital.
Shen Qianqian was smiling with excitement and shouted to break the dead silence of the town. This made Chu Ya’s heart have a rare relaxation.
“Let’s go, I’ll take you for a ride.” He let go of his hand at a high place, let the wheelchair rush down the gentle slope, and quickly passed several small buildings as Shen Qianqian continued to yell.
“Ahhh…… The wheelchair car flew up…… Ahhhh.”
The wheelchair stopped at the end of the gentle slope, and the sound from Shen Qianqian gradually became smaller. He suddenly turned to look at Chu Ya, not knowing whether he was cold or excited, his face was crimson, his eyes were amazingly bright, and his chest rose and fell rapidly.
“Shen Meow, I like you so much.” He jumped out of the wheelchair and stood in front of Chu Ya, stretching his hands back, his tone and eyes were warm: “So much, so much, so much.”
“When I found three glass balls, I exchanged Chen Hongliang for you. I gave him three glass balls, and exchange them for you. It’s you——”
He pointed to Chu Ya with both hands, and said with a solemn face: “——the one I received in exchanged of thos glass balls!”
“Thank you, you’re worth so many glass balls.”
Shen Qianqian was rigorous and began to imagine a lot of scenes of changing glass balls for Chu Ya. He shook his head decisively: “I won’t exchange. No matter how much, I won’t exchange you.”
Chu Ya changed the direction of the wheelchair and looked at the long gentle slope: “Now I need you to help push it.”
As soon as Shen Qianqian grabbed the handrail of the wheelchair, Chu Ya saw that the wall of the small building next to him was printed with orthopedics. He hurriedly shouted Wait.
His broken bones were held in place with plastic plates and ropes, and it would have been better if he could have gone to the orthopedic department and find special materials to fix them.
Shen Qianqian pushed Chu Ya into the hall of the orthopedic building.
The town was not lit in the first place, and the building was in a low-lying place. When he entered the hall, he felt that the light was not good, and it was dim everywhere.
Shen Qianqian touched Chu Ya and motioned him to look at the side: “What is that?”
Chu Ya glanced at the human skeleton specimen that was thrown in the corner of the wall for some reason, and replied briefly: “Specimen.”
“What?”
“Dummies, sculptures.”
“Oh.”
Shen Qianqian stared at the skeleton specimen, feeling a little frightened, so he walked up to Chu Ya. He sat between his legs like he had just done and retracted into his arms.
“Don’t be afraid. I’m next to you.” He said to Chu Ya.
“Well, thank you.”
The wheelchair travels on a smooth floor without making a sound. Chu Ya walked around the passage and saw that there were wards on both sides, and the sheets and bedding were covered with thick dust, and the original color could no longer be seen.
Walking to the corner of the passage, he saw a small inconspicuous door on the right, and the words “material room” were printed on the door. He looked at the lock, which seemed to be precise, but it was actually old, and it was still possible to open it.
“Do you want me to get you the kind of wire from last night?”
Shen Qianqian kept an eye on Chu Ya, so he made a stabbing motion.
Chu Ya said: “Yes.”
“Okay, then you can drive the wheelchair, and then I will come back with the wire.” Shen Qianqian said.
Chu Ya: ……
Shen Qianqian said immediately, vigilantly: “You won’t go out alone, I want to accompany you.”
The two of them returned after looking for the wire outside, and Chu Ya’s unlocking this time was a bit long. Shen Qianqian was beside him, his eyes glancing around, and deliberately asked, “Do you want me to catch the cheeky ghosts?”
Chu Ya glanced at him: “Okay, you go and catch them.”
Shen Qianqian lowered his voice: “If you say you want me to catch them, how can I really do that?” He had just said it on purpose, to scare the ghosts, so that they do not dare to come out. And once more – do they want to be cheeky? Shen Meow should opened the lock and locked the disobedient cheeky ghost inside.
“Forget it, if you could not catch them, you can just scare them so that they don’t dare to come out.” Chu Ya raised the volume of his voice.
Shen Qianqian felt that there was something wrong with his words, but he could only praise and nod: “Okay, that must do the job of scaring them.”
With a soft click, the door lock opened. Chu Ya pushed open the rusty door and a cold wind swept in with the old smell.
He paused at the door for a moment, waited for the smell to fade a little, and asked Shen Qianqian if he wanted to wait outside. Shen Qianqian immediately sat down between his legs.
Chu Ya flicked the driving headband and the wheelchair slid into the door. The material room is the warehouse, and there is a short passage after entering the door. There are three rooms on each side, which have signs such as spine surgery and surgical instruments.
He went directly to the innermost, pushed open the orthopedic consumables room, and saw that the room was full of various medical materials- not only instrument consumables, but also several large stacks of unopened surgical gowns.
Chu Ya found the bandages and splints and put them in the storage bag on the back of the wheelchair. The surgical gown was made of blue cotton, which was flexible and thick, so he took a stack and stuffed the storage bag under the wheelchair to the brim.
“Done? Are we done now?” Shen Qianqian kept urging.
“Done.”
Chu Ya was rolling his wheelchair to the door of the material room, and there was a sudden bang in the passage, which made Shen Qianqian scream in fright.
“No, it’s something that has been dropped.” Chu Ya said.
The door to the front left, with the sign of the surgical instruments, was originally locked by a chain lock. For a long time, the iron chain has long been rusted, and now Chu Yakai opened the next room, the wall shook, and it fell to the ground.
As the wheelchair continued to move forward, a gust of wind poured into the passage, and the door creaked open little by little. Shen Qianqian stared at the place nervously. He grabbed Chu Ya’s sleeve with both hands and then took a breath. He opened his mouth with his chest retracted.
“No cheekiness, no ghosts. They don’t care.” Chu Ya hurriedly interrupted.
“Don’t they roar?”
“They don’t roar.”
Shen Qianqian retracted, still staring at the room. Chu Ya sensed that his body was tense and comforted him: “It’s all surgical instruments, just some tools, nothing-“
As the door opened a little bit, the scene in the room completely entered the field of vision of the two. Chu Ya’s sound suddenly broke in his mouth, and Shen Qianqian sat stiffly in his arms like a sculpture.
There were no instruments in the room, but there were bodies lying on the ground. Their skin was as black as inky carbon, shriveled up by the loss of moisture, and if they weren’t all clothed, they looked more like dead trees that had been dried in the air.
A corpse sat against a wall, mouth wide open, empty eyes facing the two men outside the door. It was a dried corpse, with long hair still attached to the skull, slightly blown by the wind that poured into the room.
Shen Qianqian always threatened the ghost who couldn’t be seen, and when he saw the corpses in the room, his mind became empty. He couldn’t pronounce half a syllable, only staring at his eyes and panting rapidly.
Chu Ya quickly came back to his senses, and his first reaction was that these corpses should be specimens.
After all, after so many years, this building is not absolutely sealed, and the corpse should be in the shape of white bones, not so well preserved, even every watch is lifelike.
But they’re not a specimens.
They were all fully clothed, hideous, with painful faces, and there were many scratching marks on the walls, each one of which was terrifying.
“This, these, these are dummies, right? Right?” Shen Qianqian finally made a sound, which sounded like he was out of breath and like he was about to cry out at will.
Chu Ya retracted his mind and hurriedly pushed the wheelchair out: “Yes, they are all dummies.”
“Just say it, just say it, it’s definitely fake.” Shen Qianqian said a little louder, but his tone was indignant. His eyes were red too, “At first glance, it’s fake. They must be dummies. Yes, I shouldn’t be scared. Why would I be scared? Lock them all up, lock them up.”
“Okay, close it.” Chu Ya went outside the material room and closed the door again.
“Where’s the stick? Stick it in.”
“No sticks, this one has a lock.”
The two left the hospital. Shen Qianqian was still dissatisfied condemning the dummy, but Chu Ya looked a little messy.
He thought back to the scene and a guess came to his mind that these people might have been infected with the epidemic and were locked up in that room until they finally died. It was only later that the army came to the town to clean up the corpses, and the room was missed and the corpses were left there.
Their corpses do not decay and become dried corpses. And the dried corpses will basically appear gray-black. But they are as black as carbon, can they…
Is it because of the epidemic?
