Chapter 9 – Early Morning

 

　　Bosen Hospital is an institution that provides private medical services to the world’s richest people. Fu Yanchuan made a call on the way, and when the car drove into the hospital, Qi Xi felt like he was at home.

 

　　The car door opened. And the first thing that happened is that someone handed him a pair of fluffy slippers, still in the style of an orange cat. Then the emergency gurney and a large group of medical staff gathered in front of the car door, and everyone looked at him with concern.

 

　　Qi Xi was a little frightened. Fu Yanchuan got off the car from the other side and glanced at him when he reached the car door. He immediately rushed over and hugged Fu Yanchuan around his waist. He nervously pressed against Fu Yanchuan’s chest and whispered: ” Brother Yan, am I going to die?”

 

　　Fu Yanchuan frowned slightly, put his hand on Qi Xi’s shoulder and said, “Don’t be afraid, you will be fine after getting checked.”

　　He stepped slightly in front of Qi Xi, and behind Qi Xi’s invisible side, most of the medical staff walked away. Only two people and the gurney were left.

 

　　”They’re gone now.”

　　”What are you afraid of?”

 

　　Fu Yanchuan almost said he had been sick and there’s nothing really to be afraid of. He didn’t understand what Qi Xi was scared of.

 

　　Qi Xi rolled his eyes as he recalled it. He didn’t really understand it. He just remembered that he was alone in the hospital ward. He was woken up by a patient next door in the middle of the night. He went out and saw that the patient of the same age who had talked to him during the day was dead. His mother cried so loudly that it could be heard for the whole floor. At that time, he felt that there was something indescribably terrible about the hospital, which remains to this day.

　　He thought for a long time but didn’t come up with it. He looked at Fu Yanchuan and didn’t know how to answer. Fu Yanchuan suddenly shook his hand and said, “I’ll go with you.” 

 

Fu Yanchuan was not sure what happened to Qi Xi. On the way here, he made an appointment for a full set of physical examinations for Qi Xi. He accompanied Qi Xi silently. Although there is no need to queue up, it is stull time-consuming, and for most inspections, only Qi Xi can go in alone, and he can only stay outside.

　　Halfway through the examination, Qi Xi turned to him and said, “Brother Yan, you’d better wait for me. You’re too tired.”

　　At the end of the final inspection, Qi Xi was sitting in a wheelchair. Because some events were far apart, the pants Qi Xi wore were too long and it was not easy to walk. Originally, Fu Yanchuan wanted to push him, but he felt embarrassed when others looked at him, so Fu Yanchuan asked someone to push him in a wheelchair.

 

　　The hospital responsible for examining Qi Xi took the results and reported to Fu Yanchuan.

 

　　”Don’t worry, Mr. Fu. According to the examination results, Mr. Qi Xi has no serious physical problems. He is just weak and sensitive and is more likely to be injured than others. Hyperventilation syndrome is a physiological reaction caused by sudden stress. It’s best not to let him face things that can cause excessive stress.”

 

　　Qi Xi stood up from the wheelchair and explained to the hospital, “I’m not stressed, it’s just because it’s my first time -“

 

　　Fu Yanchuan pulled Qi Xi, covering his mouth. The doctor immediately realized that these were words he shouldn’t listen to, and quickly lowered his head to pretend that he didn’t hear anything.

　　He didn’t know Fu Yanchuan very well, but Fu Yanchuan’s mother had been treated in their hospital. He had seen Fu Yanchuan many times. 　　However, Qi Xi didn’t seem to be afraid of Fu Yanchuan at all. He opened Fu Yanchuan’s hand and said in a dissatisfied manner, “Why don’t you let me tell him?”

 

　　”The doctor doesn’t need to know this.”

 

　　Fu Yanchuan said, and the hospital quickly affirmed, “That’s right! I don’t need to know. Mr. Qi Xi’s symptoms are not serious, but we should try to avoid them in the future to avoid aggravating the symptoms. The physical examination report, which will take time, will be sent to Mr. Fu later. This time, I’ll  Mr. Qi Xi some prescription. You can just take the sedative medicine and take a nap. You don’t need to be hospitalized.”

 

　　Fu Yanchuan took the medicine from the doctor and pushed Qi Xi back into the wheelchair.

 

　Qi Xi turned around and said goodbye to the doctor. “You are the best doctor I have ever seen. Goodbye, I will come back to you next time I get sick.”

 

　　The doctor was particularly curious about who Qi Xi was and carefully replied to him: “Thank you, but don’t get sick again next time. ” 

 

　　Fu Yanchuan pushed Qi Xi back to the parking. Qi Xi stood up from the wheelchair suddenly, like a medical miracle, and said to Fu Yanchuan firmly: “I will get in the car myself. “

　　He watched Qi Xi roll up his trousers first, and then climbed into the car, and smiled inexplicably.

 

　　Fu Yanchuan was driving an off-road vehicle today. Qi Xi fastened his seat belt, and when he saw Fu Yanchuan coming up, he suddenly said: “Brother Yan, I will repay you the money for the hospital this time after you pay me my salary.

 

　　Fu Yanchuan gave Qi Xi a strange look, drove out and said, “You don’t have to pay. “

       Fu Yanchuan tightened his grip on the steering wheel. He glanced at Qi Xi from the corner of his eye, and drove the car back in silence.

 

　　After getting out of the car, Fu Yanchuan walked in front. Qi Xi rolled up his trousers and chased after him, but he didn’t run away. Two steps later, the trousers fell down again. He accidentally stepped on them and fell forward. Just as he was about to fall to the ground, he was caught by a strong arm.

 

　　He turned his head and saw Fu Yanchuan, and laughed and said, “Hey, hey. I know Brother Yan will definitely catch me. Thank you, Brother Yan, but can you walk slower? “

 

　　Fu Yanchuan stared at Qi Xi who was looking up at him for a moment, then suddenly he picked him up on his shoulders and started to walk.

 

　　Qi Xi was caught off guard and hung upside down behind Fu Yanchuan. He was dazed for two seconds. He gently poked Fu Yanchuan’s lower back with his finger. Fu Yanchuan visibly stiffened. He consulted and said: “Brother Yan, can you always carry me?” 

 

       Fu Yanchuan didn’t answer. He continued, “It says in the contract that you should want to make me happy.”

 

　　”It doesn’t say in the contract that I will carry you.”

 

Only then did he realize that he had fallen into Qi Xi’s logic, and Qi Xi said confidently: “But I am happy like this!”

 

　　He pinched Qi Xi’s leg unconsciously and did not obey Qi Xi’s expectations. But he still carried him to move Qi Xi upstairs.

 

　　After entering the house, Qi Xi was finally put down. He shook his dizzy head and asked, “Brother Yan, why don’t you want to carry me?”

 

　　Fu Yanchuan stared at Qi Xi for a long time and replied in a deep voice, “I don’t want to be your father. “

 

　　”Oh.” Qi Xi thought this was a good reason. After all, a man like his father who cheated and didn’t care about his son was not a good person, and no one wanted to be like him.

　　He looked at Fu Yanchuan’s cartoon hero’s face and thought for a moment before asking: “Brother Yan, what should we do next?”

　　Qi Xi just felt that what he was trying to do before was still not done, and he didn’t know what to do next. Fu Yanchuan’s eyes suddenly became a little scary and he said to him: “Go to bed.”

 

　　When he came back from a trip to the hospital, it was almost early in the morning. Qi Xi also felt that he couldn’t stay up late so he must really go to bed. Thus, he said goodbye to Fu Yanchuan, “Brother Yan, good night.”

 

　　Fu Yanchuan didn’t reply, so he had to leave by himself, leaving a message to Fu Yanchuan, “Then let’s go to bed next time.”

 

　　Qi Xi said this as if it was the next time they met or had a meal. Fu Yanchuan stayed in place and watched Qi Xi running towards the corridor that was definitely his room, and suddenly called him.

 

　　”Qi Xi.”

 

　　Qi Xi turned around, “What’s wrong?”

 

　　”Come back.”

 

　　After Fu Yanchuan finished speaking, Qi Xi trotted back to him. He lifted his eyes and smiled at him, “Do you still want to be with me? I’m going to—”

 

　　”Take the medicine and then go to sleep.”

 

　　Qi Xi lowered his head and saw the medicine Fu Yanchuan handed him. He was instantly moved and rushed over to hug Fu Yanchuan and said, “Brother Yan, my dad doesn’t even care about me that much. Why are you so nice?”

 

　　”Go to sleep.”

 

　　Fu Yanchuan pushed Qi Xi away. Qi Xi reluctantly grabbed his sleeve and said to him again, “Brother Yan, good night too! Go to bed early and I’ll make breakfast for you tomorrow!”

 

　　He remained motionless and watched Qi Xi run back to his room.

 

　　Qi Xi specially set the alarm clock in order to make breakfast for Fu Yanchuan tomorrow, but the bed was too comfortable. He turned off the alarm clock after it went off ten times before he finally remembered what he had set the alarm clock for.

 

　　He wore Fu Yanchuan’s clothes to sleep, and his pants, which were already too big, rolled off under the quilt. He sat up and thought about life for half a minute, then lifted the quilt and got out of bed.

 

　　The orange cat immediately followed him, and he took it into his arms and went barefoot to the laundry room to get the clothes he had dried yesterday.

　　It was just seven o’clock, so he thought Fu Yanchuan must still be sleeping. He walked through the living room generously, only to face Fu Yanchuan who had returned from his morning run.

 

　　Fu Yanchuan didn’t wear glasses and was wearing a sports suit. His hair was not combed up as usual. It was hung down to cover some of his sharp features, making him look much more approachable.

 

　　Qi Xi froze on the spot, looked up and down several times, and finally ran to Fu Yanchuan and said, “Brother Yan, you are different now. You look a different kind of handsome! Why are you so good-looking?”

 

　　Fu Yanchuan stood there, a drop of sweat wrapped in his hair and sliding down from his forehead. He looked at Qi Xi with eyes that were not as straightforward as Qi Xi, but contained adult desires.

　　He was only wearing a shirt, and holding the cat gave him a unique sense of laziness, like the unworldly little prince in a fairy tale. He was so clean and pure that it seemed unreal, and he couldn’t help but want to destroy and dirty it.
