Read And Be Lazy

    Chapter 61 – Desire

On Monday morning, when Fu Yanchuan came back from his morning run, Qi Xi was still not awake. Ever since Qi Xi said last time that he wanted to spend more time with him, he had been sleeping in his room these days with his middle-aged orange cat sleeping at the end of their bed every night. Whenever he moved, the cat would get up and stare at him.

Qi Xi repeatedly asked him last night to wake him up this morning. After taking a shower, he came out and lay outside Qi Xi’s quilt, staring at him for a long time before finally speaking.

    “Xixi, wake up.”

Qi Xi’s nose felt itchy from Fu Yanchuan’s breath. He turned over uncomfortably, but was blocked by Fu Yanchuan’s hand on his neck. He stretched angrily and hugged Fu Yanchuan’s hand.

    “Still want to sleep?”

Fu Yanchuan raised one hand and placed it against Qi Xi’s face. Qi Xi naturally rubbed his palm and opened his eyes in a daze to look at him.

“Brother Yan, is it dawn yet?”

He leaned over and kissed the sleepy person on the lips, “If you want to sleep, sleep a little longer.”

Qi Xi’s sleepy mind suddenly remembered what he was supposed to do today. He sat up unexpectedly, but bumped into Fu Yanchuan’s head and fell back.

    “It hurts.”

Fu Yanchuan was also hurt by the collision, but he ignored himself, took Qi Xi’s hand away and looked at his forehead. He gently rubbed the reddened spot with his palm and said, “It’s still early, you don’t have to punch in on time. He’s not your boss. Don’t worry about being late, do you understand?”

“How can that be possible? People will hate you for doing that.”

Qi Xi was always very punctual. He took Fu Yanchuan’s hand off his forehead and suddenly remembered that he had bumped Fu Yanchuan. He quickly touched Fu Yanchuan’s forehead and asked, “Brother Yan, did I hurt you?”

    “Yes, it hurts here.”

Fu Yanchuan grabbed Qi Xi’s hand and moved half an inch to the side. He looked at Qi Xi and said, “Kiss me.”

Qi Xi raised his neck and leaned close to Fu Yanchuan’s forehead. He kissed him once, but felt that it was not effective enough, so he stuck out his tongue and licked the inside of his mouth.

Fu Yanchuan’s movements were obviously frozen for a moment. Once he recovered, he fell back to the bed and smiled triumphantly, “Does it not hurt anymore, Brother Yan?”

Fu Yanchuan exhaled the breath that was stuck in his throat and pulled the naughty guy up. Qi Xi immediately wrapped his limbs around him. He naturally hugged him and carried the guy to the bathroom in a very inappropriate manner.

After breakfast, Fu Yanchuan went to pick out clothes for Qi Xi. He personally watched him put them on and then went to comb his hair.

In front of the mirror, Fu Yanchuan leaned against Qi Xi and lifted up his casually hanging hair, revealing his entire face, and he was stunned by what he saw.

“What’s wrong? Does my hair look ugly?”

Qi Xi had his back to the mirror and turned around to look in it. Fu Yanchuan held his face to prevent him from looking. He then took down his hair that he had worked so hard to style, and put a hat on him.

He couldn’t help but wonder if it was really that his hair looked ugly, but Fu Yanchuan told him very seriously, “Don’t be afraid of anyone when you get there. You are the core of this project and you can decide everything.”

“Brother Yan, you are like a brainless fan on the Internet. Obviously the director is the core.”

Qi Xi didn’t understand what he meant at all, and he didn’t want to explain too much about the relationship behind it to Qi Xi, so he reminded him, “Just remember what I said. Don’t let yourself get wronged. Don’t pay attention to others who approach you, they are not important, understand?”

“Okay! I understand. I am now Qi Xi, who no one dares to bully. If anyone bullies me, I will tell you and you will help me bully them back. “

    “Yes.”

Qi Xi followed Fu Yanchuan’s posture and leaned over. He stood on tiptoe and put his lips to his and asked: “Can we go now?”

Fu Yanchuan felt that this person definitely didn’t want to leave, so he pulled the person in and kissed him deeply until the idiot who provoked him became breathless. Fu Yanchuan then straightened the Qi Xi’s clothes.

    “Okay.”

Fu Yanchuan had been to Cheng Shu’s office once when he received the results of the investigation. It was just a studio in an Internet entertainment industrial park. There were less than 20 employees in total. The place was small and simple. The only good thing was that it was well decorated. There were two cats there, which Qi Xi would probably like.

He drove Qi Xi downstairs and originally planned to take Qi Xi upstairs, but Qi Xi ordered him not to do so. When getting out of the car, he warned him, “If you take me upstairs, I will be reluctant and will have to take you down again.”

He had no choice but to pull him over and kiss him again, “I’ll pick you up in the evening.”

Qi Xi panted slightly and replied, “Well, I’m leaving. Bye, Brother Yan.”

Fu Yanchuan watched Qi Xi go down and walk into the gate in front motionlessly. For a moment, he wanted to chase him down and bring him back. He wanted to hide him in a place where only he could see him, so that Qi Xi would always depend on him and belong to him.

He suddenly took a deep breath, forced his eyes back, and leaned back to stare at the roof. No matter how much he denied it, there was no essential difference between him and Fu Zhenrong. They both had the same despicable and selfish genes in their bodies.

But he didn’t want to let Qi Xi lose the life he should have had just like Fu Zhenrong ruined his mother.

Qi Xi found the address given by Cheng Shu and carefully peeked inside from a distance. No matter what Fu Yanchuan said, he thought that this was his first formal job in his life. He couldn’t help but clench his hands nervously and silently practiced how to greet people when he went in.

    “Qi Xi?”

Cheng Shu happened to see an absurdly expensive car driving away downstairs, and thought that it was Fu Yanchuan who brought Qi Xi over. Sure enough, he saw Qi Xi when he got out of the elevator.

Qi Xi was startled by the sudden voice behind him. He turned around and saw Cheng Shu. He then quickly said, “Director Cheng, hello.”

Seeing that he was nervous, Cheng Shu deliberately relaxed his tone. “We don’t have so many rules here, just treat the office as if it’s like you’re at home… Also, if you don’t mind calling me Brother Shu, that’s fine, everyone does.”

    “Okay, Brother Shu.”

Qi Xi didn’t think about whether it was appropriate or not, so he had chosen to call him as such without reluctance.

Cheng Shu patted his shoulder gently and walked in first, “Come in.”

Qi Xi hurried to catch up, but the first person he saw when he entered the door wasn’t Cheng Shu, “Boss, you’re here so early today?”

Isn’t he called Brother Shu? A question mark popped up in Qi Xi’s mind.

Cheng Shu replied: “Let’s gather everyone and introduce our main artist for this project.”

The person opposite immediately looked at Qi Xi and stared in surprise, “Fuck! Is he that handsome?”

It was the first time that Qi Xi heard someone say he was handsome so directly. He blushed suddenly and subconsciously hid behind Cheng Shu.

As a result, the other party’s expression became more exaggerated. He covered the lower half of his face with the documents in his hand and said, “Oh my God! I hit the bull’s eye! Boss, you have never said Mr. Qi Xi  is so young and cute. “

“Constrain yourself, you’ve already scared him.”

    “I-I didn’t.”

Qi Xi thought about Fu Yanchuan’s words in his mind. He mustered up the courage to stand up and said with a red face: “My name is Qi Xi, please, please give me your attention.”

“You mean care? My name is Huang Shilin, and everyone calls me Old Huang.”

Qi Xi saw that Huang Shilin was only a few years older than him, so he asked curiously, “You are not old, why do you call yourself Old Huang?”

“Some yellow is not that yellow, right? You figure it out yourself!”

Cheng Shu felt that if they taught Qi Xi bad things, Fu Yanchuan might come after them, so he interrupted, “Old Huang, shut up.”

    Qi Xi explained, “I’m 20.”

“You are about the same age.”

Cheng Shu was afraid that Fu Yanchuan would come after him, but everyone in the studio was an experienced 2D person. He said to Qi Xi earnestly, “Try not to let them talk nonsense to you in the future, especially if you don’t understand. You don’t have to ask them. It’s meaningless.”

Qi Xi nodded without quite understanding then followed Cheng Shu in.

The office was completely different from what he had imagined. He had been to his father’s company when he was a child, and he had also been to Fu Yanchuan’s office last time. There were neatly arranged workstations everywhere.

But his first feeling here was that it didn’t look like an office, but someone’s home. There were no uniform and neat workstations, but randomly placed tables, snacks and drinks everywhere, a meeting room full of green plants like the living room, and even two cats.

Is this still possible in the office?

Qi Xi looked around and walked with Cheng Shu to the meeting room which was like a living room. Others came one after another and the sofas in a circle were filled with more than a dozen people.

Cheng Shu said, “This is the Qi Xi I told you all about before. Everyone, please please welcome him.”

Qi Xi was so nervous that he sat upright like a primary school student. Others started to applaud. He had never seen such an occasion before, so he suddenly stood up like a pillar.

Cheng Shu was startled. “Don’t be nervous. I just want you to get to know everyone.”

    “Oh.”

He sat back down, and just as his butt touched the sofa, he stood up again and said as if reciting a lesson: “Hello everyone, my name is Qi Xi. I’m 20 years old, and this is my first time working on animation. I don’t know many things, so please don’t despise me. I will study hard and try not to make mistakes… Thank you.”

This was the line he had rehearsed countless times before coming here. After he finished speaking, everyone fell silent. He asked worriedly, “Did I say it wrong?”

When the project was finalized, no one had ever met Qi Xi. But they had all seen Qi Xi’s paintings, so they were not completely unfamiliar with him.

It’s just that everyone was surprised that Qi Xi was so young, but also not surprised, because such an emotional and passionate painting could probably only be drawn by someone who had not experienced the beatings of society.

Someone answered, “My name is Li Yuan. I’m 28 years old and I’m in charge of special effects.”

After he finished speaking, everyone else started introducing themselves.

“My name is Zheng Zhenghao. I’m 30 years old, and I’m responsible for odd jobs.”

“I’ve just introduced myself, Huang Shilin. I’m the one who’s actually in charge of odd jobs. If you need anything, you can come to me.”

    “How old is Old Huang?”

“Is it okay to casually tell others a beautiful woman’s age casually?”

    The atmosphere suddenly became relaxed

Qi Xi got up and carefully memorized everyone’s name and position, and finally he was no longer nervous.

The last person to be introduced was Cheng Shu. “I don’t need to introduce myself, right? Everyone, go back to your positions and start working. Qi Xi, I’ll take you to your position.”

    “Okay.”

Qi Xi stood up suddenly, thinking that everyone else would be busy, but he saw some people lying on the sofa playing games, some feeding the cat, and others eating.

He asked Cheng Shu in confusion, “Brother Shu, is this how you all work?”

“It’s not always like this. The project hasn’t officially started yet, so everyone is relaxing.”

He nodded as if he understood and walked with Cheng Shu to a separate room at the innermost part.

One wall inside is filled with cabinets of various paints and drawing papers. On the left is a complete set of computer equipment for painting, and on the right is a traditional drawing board and his usual cushion. Even the cushion is his favorite kind.

“How is it? Are you satisfied?”

Cheng Shu pointed inside and asked, he was surprised and asked back: “Is this my seat? Are these my materials?”

“Yes, there are two more main artisat, and they will cooperate with you when the project starts.”

Qi Xi instantly felt great again, “Thank you, Brother Shu. I will work hard, I also like this setup.”

Cheng Shu thought to himself, it would be strange if you didn’t like it. Everything in it was personally designated and confirmed by Fu Yanchuan. He didn’t expect Fu Yanchuan to be so meticulous to Qi Xi, or it could be said that most people couldn’t do it to this extent, it could be called over-doting.

But when he looked at Qi Xi, he felt that it was understandable in all aspects, especially the bad nature of men, which was easier to understand.

He didn’t point out what Fu Yanchuan did, but just said: “Today is mainly to get to know everyone. You can do whatever you want. If you are bored, you can go back.”

    “Go back?”

Qi Xi quickly refused, “I just arrived, how can I go back? Here, can I start drawing already?”

    “Of course you can.”

    “Thank you, Brother Shu.”

Cheng Shu retreated to the door and watched Qi Xi start painting as he said. He found that when Qi Xi picked up the paintbrush, he seemed to have entered a transcendent state. Qi Xi painted without thinking or even pausing. Everything seemed to be generated naturally from his pen.

He looked at it for a long time and finally understood what Qi Xi drew. It was the story in the script.

A boy was drawing, and the painting he was drawing appeared around him. However, the boy’s expression was not one of surprise or fear, but a shocking joy, and even a bit of madness.

This was somewhat different from the story he had imagined, but in an instant he felt that Qi Xi’s understanding was more touching, and he couldn’t help but get excited.

Fu Yanchuan was very anxious at the moment. He was very normal when Qi Xi was at home a few days ago, but today he seemed to have separation anxiety. He was anxious during meetings and when talking about things. He didn’t want to reveal his almost crazy desire for control to Qi Xi, so he resisted the urge to call Qi Xi and became even more anxious.

Finally, it was afternoon. He counted the time when Qi Xi would almost go home and drove downstairs early to wait for him.

After Qi Xi received a call from Fu Yanchuan, he went to ask Cheng Shu if he could leave work. Cheng Shu agreed, so he quickly picked up his bag and rushed downstairs.

Huang Shilin saw Qi Xi running so fast at the front desk, and asked Cheng Shu, who was following behind him and preparing to leave, curiously: “What happened to Mr. Qi Xi?”

Cheng Shu, who had just seen the car from the morning through the window, replied, “His boyfriend is here to pick him up.”

    “He has a boyfriend?”

Huang Shilin was so shocked that she turned into a statue. “What kind of man is worthy of Mr. Qi Xi. Such a handsome and beautiful man with talent!”

“It seems like Old Huang is no good either. He didn’t even guess this.”

Huang Shilin immediately thought of Fu Yanchuan who came to their place last week. Her eyes almost popped out. She never thought that one day the gossip about wealthy families would appear next to her!

When Qi Xi got downstairs and saw Fu Yanchuan’s car, he ran over to open the door and got in, excitedly telling Fu Yanchuan about his day.

“Brother Yan, let me tell you that their office is very special. It’s different from yours. It looks like home, and they have two cats. One is called King Kong and the other is called Maoliqiu.”

Fu Yanchuan drove out with an expressionless face and listened to Qi Xi quietly.

“And I have a spot all my own! Isn’t that awesome? Brother Shu is so nice to me, and Sister Huang, she took me out to eat at noon because she was afraid I couldn’t find a place to eat. Brother Shu also praised the painting I drew today, saying that I had a lot of ideas in my paintings. I felt embarrassed by his praise.”

Fu Yanchuan glanced at Qi Xi out of the corner of his eye and still didn’t say anything. Qi Xi didn’t notice his emotions and told him everything that happened in the whole day in detail. Fu Yanchuan listened all the way home.

After entering the room, he stood there motionless. When Qi Xi changed his shoes and was about to leave, Fu Yanchuan suddenly pulled him over, held him tightly, and pushed him against the wall.

    “Brother Yan?”

Qi Xi finally discovered that his brother Yan seemed unhappy, but every time Fu Yanchuan was unhappy, he said nothing and just looked at him without blinking.

He guessed the reason why Fu Yanchuan was unhappy, “Are you hungry?”

Fu Yanchuan didn’t respond, so he continued to ask, “Is it your father who is causing trouble for you again?”

Fu Yanchuan finally moved. He bit his lips and then asked in a hoarse voice, “Call me brother.”
