Chapter 40

When the two passed by the cultural center building, Chu Ya suddenly felt a familiar feeling.
It was a dangerous signal, coming from his quantum beast Silver Wolf.
No, now it was Black Wolf.

His quantum beast was not in the town of Mixin, but came from the nearby Keko Mountain with a group of beasts, and the target was him and Shen Qianqian.

He remembered the small theater where he hid last time to avoid the search. There were no windows in the theater, only a door, so he immediately urged Shen Qianqian: “Hurry, run. Go upstairs!”

He shook the wheelchair hard and rushed upstairs as fast as possible. Shen Qianqian was infected by his emotions and pushed his wheelchair down nervously.

“What’s the matter? Why are we running?”
“It’s dangerous.”
“Why is it dangerous?”

“It’s so dangerous that you will die if you don’t run. Don’t ask anymore, just run for now.”

Shen Qianqian obeyed and pushed the wheelchair hard.

When the two of them went up to the sixth floor along the rotating track, the view became wider, and Shen Qianqian saw the billowing smoke and dust on the wasteland and the group of wild beasts that were coming back.

Shen Qianqian had only seen cats and dogs. This was the first time she saw other animals, and there were so many of them. But these animals were not as attractive to him as cats and dogs. They only made him feel scared and terrified besides being shocked. His breathing became more and more rapid. He kept patting Chu Ya’s shoulder and pointing in that direction: “Look, look, big cats and big dogs.”

He didn’t know what those beasts were, he could only say they were big cats and big dogs.

The beasts were very fast. As soon as the two of them reached the eighth floor, they had already rushed to the outside of Mixin Town, quickly climbed over the barbed wire without stopping, and poured into the streets of Mixin Town.

“They came in. They-they.” Looking at the beasts running on the street, Shen Qianqian was frightened and incoherent.

The beasts ran straight to the direction of the Cultural Center, some jumped onto the roof, and leaped all the way at a high speed. Chu Ya pushed the wheelchair with all his strength, his eyes cast outside the fence, and met the sight of the black wolf at the end of the beasts.

The black wolf slowly stopped and stood on the roof of a bungalow. Two or three jackals flew by, but it was still standing. Chu Ya kept looking at it.

The iron bars that kept moving backwards cast mottled and changing light on his face, making him look even colder and more sinister at the moment.

“Roar…” The black wolf raised his head and let out a long howl. All the wild animals rushed to the cultural center building. Tigers, leopards, wild deer and the like rushed up along the rotating track, while monkeys directly grabbed the window lattice iron bars and climbed upstairs.

Chu Ya and the others had just reached the tenth floor when a monkey had already pushed the cart hard. After hearing the movement, it turned its head and screamed in horror: “Big cat!!!”

Although the monkey looked like a monkey, it had two long fangs, a layer of fine scales on its body, and dark eyes. When it pounced, it brought a smelly wind.

Seeing that its two sharp claws were about to touch Shen Qianqian, Chu Ya suddenly pushed him away and punched the air again.
His fist hit the monkey’s face, and the monkey’s sharp claws rang on the back of the wheelchair, then flew backwards and passed by.
But it grabbed the railing outside the building, turned over and jumped into the spiral staircase, with a sharp hissing sound. Chu Ya took advantage of this time to pull Shen Qianqian into the door of the small theater.

“Get behind me!”
Chu Ya shouted.

This was a metal sliding door. Because it was open all year round, the grooves were full of dust, and the rusty door leaves were connected to the ground. When Chu Ya exerted force, large pieces of rust fell off, and a harsh creaking sound came from the door groove.

Shen Qianqian helped to push, closing his eyes and kicking his feet. Just as the door was about to close, a monkey’s paw reached in from the gap and almost grabbed Chu Ya’s clothes.

Chu Ya searched all over the shops these days and finally found a suitable fruit knife in a kitchenware store. He sharpened the tip of the knife and made a dagger.

He held the dagger and stabbed the monkey’s paw hard, shouting at the same time: “Close the door, close the door quickly.”

“I’m here, I’m closing it.” Shen Qianqian was still pushing the door with all his strength, and only squeezed out a few words from between his teeth.

The monkey held on to the door tightly, and Chu Ya stabbed it continuously. The monkey felt pain and finally retracted its claws. The metal door slammed shut under Shen Qianqian’s force.

The heavy metal door made a continuous impact sound, and the dust and rust on the door panel kept falling. Now the light in the room was dark, and Chu Ya touched the door lock and locked it with a click.
