Chapter 26 – You Must Like Me

 

Shen Qianqian carried his satchel and kettle he had gotten after he left the house. He looked at Chu Ya and smiled a little silly: “Shen Meow, hehe, Shen Meow.”

Chu Ya hummed very softly: “Yes?”

Shen Qianqian reached out to touch his forehead.

The outstretched little hand was stained with dust and looked a little dirty, but Chu Ya’s head only tilted slightly before stopping, allowing it to rest on his forehead.

 

“You’re not hot anymore. You don’t have a fever.” Shen Qianqian smiled again,  went to take off the cotton clothes on his body, Chu Ya immediately called out to him: “Don’t take off your clothes.”

“But I feel hot.” Shen Qianqian stuck out his tongue.

“Don’t take it off even if it’s hot, you’ll get cold if you take it off now. Plus it won’t be hot after a while.”

 

Shen Qianqian, without trying to take off his cotton clothes, turned his head to look outside the door. He ran out again and returned with Chu Ya’s jacket and pants.

 

“Thank you.” Chu Ya took the clothes, saw Shen Qianqian squatted in front of him, and asked softly, “Can you please do me a favor?” 

 

“What is it?”

 

“Go find something for me.”

 

Shen Qianqian finally had his heart done, and he was able to climb up and down the garbage mountain happily. Not only did he pick up the treasures, but he also picked up the good ones and stuffed them into his bag. But he also remembered Chu Ya’s explanation that he was looking for four sturdy long things and ropes.

 

Chu Ya was alone in the tin house to examine his wounds.

He had already decided to pull himself together, and as Adjutant Yun Tuo said, he had to live, and the others had to be put aside in advance. He had to deal with the current predicament first.

Chu Ya fell down without strength, his body kept trembling that even when he heard the sound from Shen Curling’s footsteps, he didn’t pull the quilt and cover himself.

Shen Qianqian rushed back to the house: “Shen Meow.”

After Chu Ya relieved his breath, he opened his eyes and saw that Shen Qianqian brought back four long strips of hard plastic plates, which were then used to fix his legs.

Chu Ya had already wrapped his legs, he looked at the ointment tablets handed over and pointed to his calf: “Then apply it there.”

Chu Ya’s broken bones are on its way to recovery and moving his body is not so painful anymore. He drank the hot water handed by Shen Qianqian, ate another yam, and closed his hands tiredly. Shen Qianqian was with him without making a sound.

 

Chu Ya slept very deeply that night, and had countless dreams. When he woke up, he still couldn’t come back to his senses, and he didn’t know where he was.

 

He looked at his watch and saw that it was three o’clock in the afternoon. Shen Qianqian was beside him and slept soundly. His face was red and fluttering, and there were two grains of sweat on the tip of his nose.

But when he backtracked what Shen Qianqian said before, he thought  that it should be a student from the welfare home who had come to pick up garbage.

 

Chu Ya didn’t let the others find out, but fortunately, those students didn’t come over. They’re obviously not interested in this row of tin houses. He relaxed and closed his eyes for several minutes.
