The bodyguards who stayed glued to them silently pulled out two folding chairs, unfolded them, and set them down in front of the kids.

Lu Zhishi lifted his head excitedly. “Thanks, Uncle~”

“Mm.” The bodyguard answered coolly, then stood by his side without saying anything else.

The Zhao family’s bodyguard was also serious, standing close behind Zhao Xing with a sharp, watchful gaze.

Cast the line—splash—done in one smooth motion. Lu Zhishi sat down on the little chair and patiently waited for a big fish to bite.

Compared to Lu Zhishi’s patience, Zhao Xing couldn’t sit still. Especially after nearly half an hour with no bites, he was starting to get restless.

He held the fishing rod out of boredom, then slowly shifted his gaze toward the adult nearby… and his eyes lit up a little.

Ten minutes later, Zhao’s bodyguard uncle sat stiffly on a tiny stool with a mini fishing rod in hand, expression blank, quietly waiting for a big fish to take the bait.

Since his uncle kept a close eye on him and wouldn’t let him wander far, Zhao Xing circled around once, came back, and started chanting that he was tired and hungry.

The bodyguard uncle gave him the tiny stool to sit on, then silently pulled a small bag of rice cakes from his pocket. After that, he silently produced a small bottle of warm water.

Lu Zhishi stared from the side, completely stunned. Uncle, you’re seriously professional… you even know how to take care of kids.

Seeing that, Lu Zhishi’s own bodyguard also pulled out a pack of cookies and a baby bottle, handing them over to the little young master. “We have them too.”

Lu Zhishi looked at the bottle, then looked up at his stone-faced bodyguard uncle.

Uncle… you’re also super professional, huh.

The two little ones went from eating while fishing… to eating while watching the two uncles fish… and in the end, they happily carried a whole bucket of big fish home.

    “Dad, look!”

By the time they got home, Song Qinian was already back, cooking in the kitchen with Lu Ting’an.

The cool-faced bodyguard politely greeted his boss, set the bucket down, and left.

Song Qinian leaned down to take a look and chuckled. “You caught all of these?”

Lu Zhishi scratched his head, rummaged around in the bucket for a long time, and finally pointed. “This one is~”

Song Qinian looked at that small fish, then at the other big fish, and said with a grin, “So you’re making soup for your dads with all of these?”

Lu Zhishi remembered the huge promise he’d made earlier and rubbed his chubby cheeks awkwardly. “Mm-hm~”

“Alright then.” Song Qinian ruffled his little curls. “Thanks, Chubby Zhishi.”

Lu Zhishi blushed and scratched his butt, then softly added, “You’re welcome~”

Song Qinian carried the bucket into the kitchen, and Lu Zhishi trotted after him, lifting his chubby face to look at Lu Ting’an with bright expectation.

Lu Ting’an had heard everything just now. He glanced down and praised gently, “That’s impressive. Chubby Zhishi, keep it up next time.”

Lu Zhishi puffed out his chest proudly. “Okay!”

The two dads exchanged a look, both trying hard not to laugh.

The fish soup came out rich and delicious. Lu Zhishi drank a huge bowl and started burping nonstop from being too full.

Song Qinian looked at his round little belly, frowned slightly, and leaned toward Lu Ting’an to whisper, “Ge, our chubby son drank that much soup… is he gonna wet the bed tonight?”

Lu Ting’an also glanced over and replied quietly, “Probably not.”

Lu Zhishi widened his eyes, confused. The two dads were stuck together whispering about something, but he couldn’t catch what they were saying.

After dinner and a bath, Lu Zhishi lay on the big bed and insisted on calling his gege.

It was nighttime here, but it was perfectly midday for Lu Zhiyu.

Once the call connected, the brothers talked endlessly—what they ate today, what they did, where they went…

Chi Chen occasionally appeared on camera, expression calm as always, saying lightly, “I’ll bring you a gift when I’m back.”

“Thanks, gege~” Lu Zhishi happily shoved his chubby face into the camera until it filled the screen.

The “cool gege” looked completely expressionless, but Lu Zhiyu immediately exposed him: “He buys stuff everywhere we go. He bought a LOT.”

Aside from souvenirs for the adults, everything else was little gifts for Lu Zhishi.

Lu Zhiyu kept chattering on and on. Chi Chen’s ears turned red, and he coldly covered Lu Zhiyu’s mouth with his hand.

Their study trip was pretty long, they probably wouldn’t be back until right before school started at the end of August. And right now it was only late July.

Through the video, Lu Zhiyu and Chi Chen both looked like they’d grown taller. Zhao Xiaoyun was a little darker from the sun, too.

Lu Zhishi watched the phone screen full of laughing, joking older boys leaning in to say hi… and he couldn’t help feeling a little jealous.

It looked so lively. He wanted to be with his geges too.

After the call ended, the little guy’s chubby face drooped, brows knit with a quiet sadness. Lu Ting’an rested a hand on his fluffy head.

His own child—of course Lu Ting’an could tell what he was thinking.

“When you start school, you’ll be able to see the world too—just like your gege.”

Lu Zhishi turned and wrapped his arms around Lu Ting’an’s waist, burying his chubby face into Dad’s pajama shirt and rubbing against it. “Baba…”

Lu Ting’an stroked the back of his head and frowned slightly, reflecting on something.

Maybe it was because they hadn’t taken the child out for a long time, and with his older brothers away, the little one had been feeling a bit bored at home.

He said, “Let’s go out and play tomorrow, okay?”

Lu Zhishi immediately poked his head out, eyes lighting up. “Really?”

Lu Ting’an smoothed down his hair and gently rubbed his head. “Really. Tomorrow we’ll get a haircut first, then go to the amusement park.”

“Hahaha—” Lu Zhishi was so happy he almost lost his balance, throwing his arms around Lu Ting’an and bouncing against him, rubbing his face into his chest. “Baba, that’s great!”

His hair got a little messy from all the rubbing. Lu Ting’an smiled helplessly, his brows soft with warmth, and said, “Alright, alright. I’ll buy you something tasty too—but you can’t eat too much, or you’ll get a stomachache.”

    “Okay~”

Knowing he could go out to play tomorrow, Lu Zhishi was so excited that he kept rolling around in his little bed, unable to fall asleep. From time to time, he even let out small giggles.

In the middle of the night, this kind of soft, giggly child’s laughter could be a bit startling.

The chubby little one only finally fell asleep after Lu Ting’an came over to tuck him in again and checked whether he’d wet the bed. With his eyes forced shut, he was gently patted and soothed before drifting off.

Maybe it was because it had rained last night, today the sky was especially clear, and the grass and plants around them looked unusually green. Lu Zhishi was particularly excited.

Zhao Xing came over early in the morning, braving the rain just to ask Lu Zhishi out to play. When he found out they were going to the amusement park today, the little guy was immediately bursting with excitement.

Lu Ting’an bent down and comforted him. “Xiaoxing will come too. Uncle’s already got everything ready.

Last night, Lu Ting’an had already sent a message to Zhao Xing’s mom. She was probably busy with work and forgot to explain things to the child.

When Chubby Xing heard that, he froze for a second. A little snot bubble puffed out, then shrank back in. Right after that, he broke into a huge grin.

    “SuSu is nice~”

Lu Ting’an chuckled, pulled out a tissue to wipe his nose, then took him to wash his face.

    “Come on, come on~”

Two short, chubby little dumplings circled around his legs, so much so that Lu Ting’an could barely walk.

    “Please wait a moment.”

With one hand lifting each kid, he carried them back to the room to change clothes, coaxing them helplessly.

The two little guys were about the same size, so Lu Ting’an dressed them both in the same light-blue long-sleeved shirts with suspenders. They really did look like brothers.

    And finally—sunglasses.

It was Lu Zhishi and Zhao Xing’s first time wearing sunglasses. They stood in front of the mirror admiring themselves for ages, refusing to leave, even fixing their hair for good measure.

    “So cool~”

    “Cool~”

Lu Ting’an glanced at his watch, amused, leaning against the doorframe as the two chubby kids twisted their hips and wiggled around. He still couldn’t resist recording two short videos.

    “Alright, it’s time to go.”

Lu Zhishi snapped out of it and hurriedly grabbed Zhao Xing, who was still wiggling his butt.

    “Coming~”

The barbershop had been booked in advance. As soon as they arrived, Lu Ting’an took them upstairs into a VIP room.

“Just trim it a bit shorter, and shape the front slightly,” Lu Ting’an told the stylist.

Off to the side, Lu Zhishi took off his sunglasses, scratched his hair, and prepared himself seriously. He was going to be a cool chubby kid.

    Two minutes later—

Zhao Xing looked left and right, frowning in confusion. Why hadn’t it started for him?

He tugged on Lu Ting’an’s pant leg and asked sadly, “SuSu… why didn’t I get one?”

Lu Ting’an blinked, paused for a moment, then laughed and picked him up, rubbing his head.

“I heard your mom say you already got a haircut last time.”

Thinking about it, that seemed true. Chubby Xing drooped his head.

    “Okay~”

He looked so pitiful that Lu Ting’an carried him over to sit beside Lu Zhishi and said to the stylist, “Later, just trim Xing’s ends a little too.”

The stylist held back a laugh and nodded. “No problem, Lu-Ge.”

    “Haha~”

Getting what he wanted after all, Zhao Xing giggled nonstop, staring intently at Lu Zhishi getting his haircut, his short legs dangling in midair.

Since his hair was being cut, Lu Zhishi didn’t dare move, only smiling with crescent eyes.

Kids didn’t need styling, so the haircut didn’t take long. A quick rinse and blow-dry, and it was done.

Lu Zhishi looked at himself in the mirror and grabbed his hair. Aside from being shorter, it didn’t seem much different.

    Cool chubby kid plan: failed.

As for Zhao Xing—he was still giggling. His hair had only had the very tips trimmed and looked almost exactly the same as before.

But that was fine. At least neither kid cried their way out of the barbershop.

They didn’t linger after finishing, they still had the amusement park to go to.

No waiting in line. With the power of money, they took a special route straight inside.

Because it was the weekend, the amusement park was packed—crowded, but lively.

Staff in all kinds of mascot costumes, balloons of every color and shape, princesses passing by, and parade floats.

Crystal-clear candied hawthorns, sweet cotton candy drifting with fragrance, and sizzling roast duck.

Families came together, couples on dates, and even people visiting alone.

At an amusement park, the first ride was naturally the carousel. After all, they were toddlers—rides like sky-drop towers or vertical plunges were out of the question.

Lu Ting’an pulled out the route he’d planned the night before, followed the park map, and led them to the carousel suitable for little kids.

After waiting in line for a bit, it was their turn. Lu Ting’an chose two neighboring pale-blue horses and lifted the chubby kids onto them one by one.

“Hold onto the horse’s neck tight, okay?” he reminded them softly.

Lu Zhishi and Zhao Xing nodded, hugging the horses tightly. Their chubby faces were full of excitement—and a little nervousness too.

It was their first time riding this.

Once everyone was ready, the carousel began to turn slowly. Cheerful music played, filling the air with a warm, childlike atmosphere.

Lu Ting’an stood outside filming with his phone, watching them quietly, a smile never leaving his lips.

    “Haha~ charge!”
    “Charge~”

Once they got into it, the two chubby kids forgot all about being nervous. One hand clung to the horse while the other waved in the air, laughing loudly, their round little faces glowing with happiness.

Kids should be happy—that’s how it should be. Lu Ting’an smiled gently and let them ride a few more rounds, recording several more videos.

After three rounds, Lu Zhishi couldn’t take it anymore. It was fun, but the spinning made him feel a little sick.

Zhao Xing lasted one round longer, stopping after four.

Lu Ting’an squatted down, took a phone from his bag to wipe their sweat, then gave them some water.

Lu Zhishi hugged his cup and gulped down several mouthfuls, saying unclearly,
    “Thang you, Baba~”

Zhao Xing drank too fast, water spilling onto his chin. Lu Ting’an wiped it away and patted his back.

    “Slow down.”

Zhao Xing let out a big breath. “Thank you, SuSu~”

After finishing his water, Lu Zhishi wiped his mouth with his sleeve and asked excitedly,

“Baba, where are we going next?”

    Where was the next ride?

Lu Ting’an wiped the water off his sleeve and mouth, then said, “You can choose yourselves.”

As he spoke, he spread the map and guidebook in front of them.

Lu Zhishi scanned it, pointed at one attraction, then glanced at the note beside it. His eyes lit up.

He immediately grabbed Zhao Xing, enthusiastically persuading him. “This one—cool!”

Zhao Xing was younger and couldn’t read. Hearing the word “cool,” he agreed right away.

    “Okay!”

Two pairs of big eyes stared up at him expectantly. Lu Ting’an sighed and gave in.

    “Just remember—stay safe.”
